I'm 37 and up until now I've been wearing mine for the past 7 years but totally I had a realisation that they are sioooo popular and not awfully unique so I've taken it off for the foreseeable. Not getting rid of it just putting it away.

So just wondered do ppl here on mn wear one and if so how old are u. Just for fun no judging involved Smile

@Viviennemary

No. Because I'm not a teenager.
I've never seen a teenager wearing one- it's all over 40s here.

No I'm really not a fan of Pandora. I don't like the look of the 'charms'. My mother dropped many hints about them though so I bought her one & some charms from my dc. But she complained that it pinched the skin on her arm so it had to be changed.

I have a gold Thomas Sabo charm bracelet full of charms bought by my dh mostly on behalf of dc. I like this style as they're traditional charms & I have a lot of the gold & higher end price wise charms. I did tot up the overall cost once & it quite shocked me!

I enjoy wearing it from time to time but certainly not everyday. It annoys me when I'm typing so I never wear to work. I'm still v glad I have it & I love looking at all the little charms which have a personal significance to me

No - I don’t like the oxidised silver look, and I don’t like jingling things around my wrists. I prefer clean, simple lines, like some of the Georg Jensen stuff.

SusannaMorvern · 18/04/2021 12:29

I like Georg Jensen too. Bit of a price difference though. I have a well loved necklace bought as a gift for a significant birthday. But I do look at some of the jewellery and think there's a point where they are taking people for mugs, for what is a plain mass produced item.

luckylavender · 18/04/2021 16:17

I just don't get them. I have loads of different jewellery and wear my Tiffany stuff still occasionally as well as Links still. But Pandora leaves me cold.

Lofu · 18/04/2021 16:27

I'm early 30s and no I've never had any pandora jewelry because I don't like it. There was a period of about 5 years where I felt like I had to be very vocal in the run up to birthdays and Xmas to make sure nobody was thinking of getting me one because it just seemed to be expected that this is what women want now.

@Hazelnutlatteplease

Yes I have a Pandora Disney bracelet I wear constantly. Partly because I love Disney and it's the best quality Disney Jewellery around so I cant destroy it in five seconds flat. But Mainly though because it means something to me

No its definitely not unique but most the charms mean something special to me. For Example I bought a peter pan charm to commemorate when DS was finally correctly diagnosed after 6 years of real suffering for the whole family. He was diagnosed at GOSH which is historically connected with Peter Pan and frankly it did take a lot of faith (in my own instincts ) trust (in the right doctors after others had badly let us down) and pixie dust to get there. Lots of people have that charm, but it most likely will mean something different to them. I knew I was going to buy that specific one while looking at the peter pan fountain at the entrance to GOSH.

I dont care if the bracelet is naff, I loves it anyway.

I don’t like Pandora bracelets, but I think this post is a lovely example of how jewellery is so personal.

So if you like it, fuck it, just wear it!

krustykittens · 18/04/2021 17:04

I have one my husband bought me as an anniversary gift and it is gradually being filled up with charms chosen by my husband and children as gifts. They are mostly related to fairy tales and books I have had published and not all of them are Pandora. There are lots of companies and individual artisans who do lovely bead charms now. I love it and really don't give a shit if millions of other people like them too. It is hugely sentimental and very beautiful in my eyes. If you like yours, OP, wear it. life is too bloody short!

ElderMillennial · 18/04/2021 17:08

Have you only just realised they are popular OP?

ineedaholidayandwine · 18/04/2021 17:12

Not worn mine in a couple of years as it clattered on my desk at work.
I probably should buy another bracelet and split the charms over the 2.

AnnieSnap · 18/04/2021 20:12

I have never really liked charm bracelets of any kind. Pandora is not for me. It’s too ‘mass market’. I mean no offence by that. I just prefer something unusual when I wear jewellery.

Life is far to short to be put off wearing something that gives you pleasure. Wear what makes you happy.

WinstonsWeirdVole · 18/04/2021 21:27

I personally dislike them and think they look basic AF a bit tacky but I can see the appeal of charm bracelets in general. I have a lovely friend who wears one and buys a charm to commemorate special events, places she’s visited, etc, and I quite like hearing the stories behind them all!

Zancah · 18/04/2021 21:38

I had one about 15yrs ago. And then everyone saw it and bought me nothing but charms for every sodding birthday and Christmas.
I stopped wearing it and kept it for years. Then I sold it off, charm by charm, and made a killing because of all the original discontinued charms. Happy days.
