Is this dress ok for a wedding?

I am 60 and bought this from Joe Browns for a wedding in August. I love it but am unsure about the depth of the neckline. I probably won't wear a jacket but do have a silver/grey wrap. Too young and/or revealing?

I've been assuming the OP wouldn't want sleeveless.

Having said that, the OP seems to have disappeared anyway.

The dress is fine, but don't wear a wrap with it. A shawly silhouette won't flatter you or the dress. Silver sounds good, but get a sharp little jacket. Something with structure, something a bit punchy. Picking the red out of the print for the jacket would work. Wear your (beautiful) hair up in a messy home made up-do and put fresh flowers in it and have kind of tuff looking shoes. You will look fab.

It's too informal in my view. Personally I think flowery patterns and light blue are both difficult to pull off as smart. Plain light blue maybe with a cleaner look and sharply contrasting accessories could work if that blue is particularly your colour.

I'm around your age and am not generally one for dressing up but I would dress less casually than this for a wedding or other special occasion.

Isn't the rule dress better if older? It's beautiful young things who can get away with dressing casually and looking great.

There is actually loads of other dresses on the Joe Browns website that would be (in my opinion) dressier that the one you selected to wear to the wedding @squashyhat.

Think it's ok maybe on holiday or to sit in the garden but far too casual for a wedding.

i think it's too casual for a wedding OP. It's a nice day dress but definitely would not look good with a shawl, they're so hard to pull off anyway.

You should keep the dress as a day dress and look for something dressier for the wedding

Absolutely not too young or too revealing. Personally it feels too casual for a wedding.

But OP, regardless of age you should feel beautiful. It's not about competing with other women, but feeling good in yourself.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to try a dress you otherwise wouldn't wear? There are some great sales on currently.

I would suggest a similar dress, just level up - more fitted as you can carry it off.
