What do you think of this jacket?

I think I could love it but it's quite expensive. But it's reversible so like buying two? What do you think?

Also I'm 45, is it too young.

If you love it, you don't already have similar, and you can afford it, go ahead.
(And of course, the "too old" idea is banned on S&B 😄)

EllaPaella · 14/04/2021 14:54

I like it!

DelphiniumBlue · 14/04/2021 15:26

It's fabulous!
It's a fairly classic design, and a subtle but striking heritage print. Go for it!

KirstenBlest · 14/04/2021 15:38

The too old idea does not apply, you wear what you like.

I'm not sure I buy into the two jackets, but it would give you the option of plain or patterned - great if you want to wear a patterned dress or something.

I'm not mad keen on it but it's ok.

PresentingPercy · 14/04/2021 15:54

You are not too old for it but it’s not a summer jacket and it’s not remotely what’s in the fashion magazines at the moment. Blazers all the way. Fairly unstructured. Light colours and plain! I think you could do a lot better at Arket and &OtherStories for example.

Umbivalent · 14/04/2021 15:56

Love it! I love a lot of W&B stuff.

FourTurnings · 14/04/2021 15:58

Blazers are indeed having a fashion moment but there’s room for more than one style of jacket and I do like the patterned one you’ve posted.

Forget the age thing. No really - forget it. 😉😀

KeyboardWorriers · 14/04/2021 15:58

I like it. Never too old for anything!

And how boring to be constrained by what is /is not "in the fashion magazines at the moment."

PresentingPercy · 14/04/2021 15:59

Also, younger people don’t wear bomber jackets. My DDs are 28 and 25 and they would wear biker jackets but nothing like that jacket.

PresentingPercy · 14/04/2021 16:01

It’s not boring to wear what’s in magazines. They keep fashion moving. They look at styles based on people who are actually fashionable. It’s fun. Obviously people can wear what they want but why buy something that looks ancient when there are fresh new colours about? I cannot see that going over summer midi dresses or linen wide leg trousers or even jeans.

Tiggerishdish · 14/04/2021 16:06

Hmm okay. Good responses and honest. Thank you.
I don't wear dresses, I'd probably wear with boyfriend cut jeans and DMs.
I see what you mean about it not being summery though.
I live in Brighton and see all the young people in bomber jackets! What shape are the blazers? Or what style? I'm not a smart person Grin

I can. And blazers, while I like them, don't really seem to work for my shape. It's great to see what's in fashion, decide if you like it and mix it with things that you just love regardless.

Hoppinggreen · 14/04/2021 16:16

Really nice, buy it

pontiouspilates · 14/04/2021 16:18

I love it, you are definitely not too old, I have a few years on you and would wear it. Don't worry about 'fashion' it's just a go to for people who lack style.

IrishGirl2020 · 14/04/2021 16:23

I think any age could look good in that jacket - really depends on the rest of the outfit.
I like the idea of two jackets for one aswell. It’s not my personal taste so I wouldn’t buy it but I can see it looking good with jeans and boots definitely

Raaaaaaarr · 14/04/2021 16:47

It's gorgeous and I would say definitely age appropriate. Go for it.

TheWaif · 14/04/2021 22:22

I love it.

SeaTurtles92 · 14/04/2021 22:27

See I wouldn't put that down to a younger person wearing it and actually your age.

I don't particularly like it but if you like it, go for it!

thebabessavedme · 15/04/2021 09:18

I think its lovely and you are not 'too old' for anything. wear what you love and do a little swagger Smile

Nitgel · 15/04/2021 09:25

What material is it ?

Snackz · 15/04/2021 09:26

@PresentingPercy I'm 27 and I wear bomber jackets. Its about wearing what you like Smile

I love it and wish it wasn't so out my budget. I think what you've said you'll wear it with sounds perfect. Get it!!
Tiggerishdish · 15/04/2021 10:47

I bought it! Thanks 😊

@Tiggerishdish
All the blazers at the moment are a little bit oversized and the summer ones are in pastels from mint green throught to pink and even lilac. Buttermilk is the colour this summer wnhich are styuled with camels and pale creams. They are just a brighter alternative to a basically black jacket and obviously most biker jackets are black leather. Although DDs actually own a pale camel one each. Zara used to do them.

I guess Brighton is a bit more hippy. It is not quite the same as London. Of course anyone can wear what they like but it is shame not to try something summery. I think if you ask for opinions, it is a shame not to accept any. The current blazers are obviously reworked from the 80/90s. I do see a lot of 70s fashion - courtesy of the recent TV series set in the 70s. I forget the title - Gemma Coleman starred I think.

Rainallnight · 15/04/2021 11:50

Well done, OP! I really like it.

It doesn’t matter at all what’s in the fashion magazines Confused
