Is NUXE oil worth it?

It does get lots of rave reviews over all.

I would rather trust the more balanced and honest reviews on MN though.

My skin likes oils but I decided to dabble in moisturisers recently (Aldi) -sadly

they are bringing me out in spots so I will go back to oils. I have wondered about the Nuxe for a while.
More than happy to be recommended alternatives too🙂.

Oh yes, it’s lovely! Always have the huge bottle. Great for lips, face, body and not greasy

PollyThePony · 11/04/2021 10:27

I like it, but have never used it on my face! I did use bio-oil on my face a few times, but didn't get on with it. It doesn't smell as nice as NUXE and it's about the same price anyway, so of the two, I'd go NUXE. If you don't get on with it on your face, you could just use it on your body anyway.

What oil were you using before?

TokyoSushi · 11/04/2021 10:29

Sorry to hijack your thread OP, I have about 3 bottles of this that came in various sets upstairs, what do I do with it?

Laquila · 11/04/2021 10:30

Not quite what you've asked but if you're after a great facial oil them Neal's Yard rose facial oil oil is lovely - I've used it for years. Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil is also great.

I've only used samples of the Nuxe (not on my face though) but I thought it was fine, nothing ground-breaking.

PollyThePony · 11/04/2021 10:32

I also love the Neal's Yard facial oil. Although, I always used it under moisturiser rather than on its own.

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 11/04/2021 10:32

Ooh it's lovely, smells nice. I put it on my skin and the ends of my hair. It's shimmery too. It feels pretty luxurious.

AnExcellentWalker · 11/04/2021 10:33

I've had it for a few years, I use it on my arms, legs, stomach & hair. Lovely scent & not at all greasy. A little goes a long way. I use just a tiny amount for my hair, not a full pump as it's only shoulder length at the moment.

TokyoSushi · 11/04/2021 10:34

Ooh am just about to have a shower, will give it a whirl afterwards! Thank you! Back over to you OP!

KoalaOok · 11/04/2021 10:35

Its got a very strong smell to it but if you like the smell that's fine.

BigButtons · 11/04/2021 10:35

@PollyThePony I use pure oils such as grapseed and hazelnut. I also get fresh flaxseed oil from a farm and use that too( as well as eating it!). I’ve never bought a commercial oil before though.

@Laquila thanks I’ll look into those🙂

I use it on my body but not my hair or face as I find the fragrance too intense. The fragrance is nice but quite strong. The plain one smells much nicer than the shimmery one IMO.

BigButtons · 11/04/2021 11:52

I quite like the idea of the shimmery one but was worried it might look a bit ott on my face? Or is it subtle?

Ikeameatballs · 11/04/2021 13:10

I love it because I love the smell of it.

dontgobaconmyheart · 11/04/2021 14:15

I don't think it's anything special but it does smell nice. I'd not think to use it on my face for that reason (heavily fragranced) but it's a nice perfumed body or hair oil. I've used it up when I've received it as a gift but wouldn't ever buy it.

Facial oils wise I like plain jojoba or the Revolution CBD oil, both of which are cheap and cheerful. Clarins lotus is also nice but slightlier spendier.

WhereAreWeNow · 11/04/2021 14:25

I love it. Not for my face though. I use clarins face oil on my face. I use Nuxe oil on my hair. Just a drop in the same way you'd use serum. And I use it on my arms and legs in the summer (the shimmery one). I love the smell.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 11/04/2021 14:26

I like it as a body oil, but wouldn't have considered it a facial oil.

BigButtons · 11/04/2021 14:43

Thanks
Might just use it for my hair and body and try the Neal’s Yard one for my face🙂

The instructions do say you can use it on your face. I just wouldn't though. Not sure why not!

OneofPansPeople · 11/04/2021 15:26

I love it for the fragrance, unlike the clarins blue orchid oil I've just treated myself to, hate it.

SamVimesFavouriteDragon · 11/04/2021 15:29

I love it! I only use the shimmery one as a highlighter, but that's personal preference
I love love love the smell, but it is quite strong

LeonardLikesThisPost · 11/04/2021 15:39

I love it as a body oil. Never have got the hang of using any oil on my hair, as no matter how sparing I am my hair instantly looks greasy.

However I won't use the Nuxe website any more after my card details were stolen and used - it was definitely from there, as a week or two later they emailed admitting their database had been compromised. I mean I hope they've tightened up now, but it's once bitten twice shy for me, horrible to open up online banking and find the balance hundreds less than it should be.

Great product though.

lindyloo57 · 11/04/2021 16:10

LeonardlikesThispost. The same thing happened to my husband on the watch shop site, his card was details were stolen and used elsewhere, we got the money back with barkly card, but would never shop online with them again.

RacheyCat · 11/04/2021 23:54

I don't like the shimmery one at all, but the regular one is lovely. I use it for shaving my legs and smooth a few tiny drops through the ends of my hair after blow drying.

julietmanchester · 12/04/2021 01:49

No, I hate the scent and threw it out.

BigButtons · 12/04/2021 07:47

I do like a strong scents. I’ll see what’s on eBay- may be a small travel sized bottle?
