Is NUXE oil worth it?

It does get lots of rave reviews over all.

I would rather trust the more balanced and honest reviews on MN though.

My skin likes oils but I decided to dabble in moisturisers recently (Aldi) -sadly

they are bringing me out in spots so I will go back to oils. I have wondered about the Nuxe for a while.
More than happy to be recommended alternatives too🙂.

I love it but it's not that amazing for the price. I also use Lidl almond oil which I find just as good!

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 12/04/2021 07:57

It is nice but very very heavily perfumed

It is almost like wearing perfume

Lovely for skin, but if you don’t like the scent you won’t like it (a very French 80s/90s scent imo)

Disciple do a lovely set of face oil. Night and day ones. I've not used oil before but got these in JL beauty calendar. They've so far been excellent. Skin is clear and soft and sort of pillowy but not in a swollen kind of way but a plumped up kind of way.

I’m surprised how much I use it as I’ve never liked any other oils, probably because the Nuxe one doesn’t dry greasy at all. I use it to moisturise my arms and I mix it into my night cream when my face is particularly dry. Personally, I love the smell! I’m on my second bottle of the Prodigieux perfume and I have the moisturiser and shower gel too Grin. I’ve just finished a bottle of the ‘Florale’ version and I really like that scent as well.

They have a set of 4x10 ml bottles for £11.50 which might be worth trying: uk.nuxe.com/christmas-boutique/huile-prodigieuse-iconic-collection-gift-set

Has anyone used either the Kyushi or Typologie facial oils? Both are popping up on my Instagram quite a bit.

Laquila · 13/04/2021 11:48

@BigButtons where do you get your pure grapeseed and hazelnut from? I've checked the ingredients list for my Neal's Yard rose oil and those are the main components, along with Evening Primrose, so I might go DIY next time!

BigButtons · 13/04/2021 12:04

@Laquila I get mine from a company on eBay. Cheap as chips. I like it for my hair as well as it is easier to wash out than oils such a coconut which is a nightmare 😱

Thank you! Is it worth going for organic, or cold-pressed, in your experience, or are they much of a muchness? I've googled and there are loads of places selling oils online and some big price differences, but I presume it's mainly marketing.

SingingSands · 13/04/2021 12:23

NUXE is lovely, I've been buying it for years. I ran out just before Christmas and I've missed it, keep meaning to replace.

I love the scent, it makes me think of warm summer nights on holiday, with all my cares back at home!

BigButtons · 13/04/2021 12:49

@Laquila I do get cold pressed but not organic. eBay is your best best for quality and value!

I do is looked at the ingredients in the hyper expensive dive oils and realise I have most of them in my cupboard( I am a huge oil fan and have loads -a brief foray back into moisturiser bought me out in spots). I can’t believe how much they charge for the stuff.

Notino have 100ml of the original Nuxe oil for £16.95 and 50ml of the floral version for £10.95 at the moment. The code: 15NOTINO gets you 15% off, too.
