If you had a £500 budget for a piece of jewellery what would you buy?

Not sure if this is the best place to post but thought I'd give it a go! (I realise this is very very shallow)

As title suggests, if someone where to spend a few hundred quid on a nice piece of jewellery for you what would you buy?

I've got a big birthday coming up and this is what my parents want to get me but I have no ideas!

Tiffany is very overpriced, you would probably be able to get something very similar from an indie jeweller for less than half the price.

Antique/vintage jewellery does appeal to me, I'll have a look into that and see what I can find!

I do lean away from big brands like Tiffany because I'd prefer something a bit more unique

I'd get something from Sheila Fleet too.

OP, have you thought of having something bespoke made for you?

I agree re Tiffany etc. You're really just paying for the brand name.

I've acquired some lovely pieces at auction. Worth looking into. I also got a Tiffany cuff for a significant birthday and it's a really heavy piece full of impact. Would you and your parents like to see something with a wow factor? Or something subtle?

How does it work if you buy something af auction? I have never done this.

I'd ask for a sterling silver bangle and some nice earrings, but that's because I don't like gold. Love this bangle.

Erm … you'd literally get a carrier bag in Cartier for that price 🤣 they might run to a pen, if you're lucky!
And Tiffany isn't much better, you'd get one of their naff mass produced silver chain necklaces!
