Help me choose between these two orange bags

I'm considering purchasing one of these two bags for summer made by Mansur Gavriel one of my fave bag designers,

The shad of orange is the same just the lighting has made them look different;

The first is more boxy/formal/work like

The second more relaxed and casual I'd say though both can be work or casual I'd say so generally just wandering which one is better as I can't decide! Both similar price £600

1 or 2?

If you're over 40 = 1, under 40 = 2...just because WinkGrin

lovevlyt · 06/04/2021 22:29

@gallileofigaro under 40! I assume you mean it's more of a childish look?! Is that good or bad!?

I prefer 1 (yes am over 40!) but neither look worth £60 let alone £600

Inmypjsagain · 06/04/2021 22:30

2!

lovevlyt · 06/04/2021 22:31

@RockingMyFiftiesNot oh dear do you think they look cheap?! I think they look beautifully crafted leather

I prefer 2 (and am over 40) but both look awkward to carry.

I prefer 1

Look a bit plasticity from the pic, not sure they are worth that much money.

Reinventinganna · 06/04/2021 22:35

For that price, neither. You can get a lot more for your money.

aintnocoffeebigenough · 06/04/2021 22:35

I prefer 1 but love both Smile Just think the shape of the second one might be a bit impractical

daisypond · 06/04/2021 22:35

I prefer 1. I am over 40. I wouldn’t pay even 100 for either, though, especially not 2.

AmethystMoonShine · 06/04/2021 22:35

1 it’s a beautiful bag in a fabulous colour and the quality & construction looks good.

lovevlyt · 06/04/2021 22:35

@Reinventinganna do you have any recommendations? I'm open!

Maybe they look better in the flesh, sorry wasn't being rude, just not looking at either of them and thinking they are worth anywhere near &600. (and for most people £60 isn't cheap for a bag anyway) I I wouldn't use the 2nd one if it was given to me. But people have different tastes so you need to go with what you like, not what other people think.

lovevlyt · 06/04/2021 22:37

@RockingMyFiftiesNot it's ok I wasn't offended and genuinely appreciate your honesty - thank you!

@CeeceeBloomingdale they both come with a long strap to wear long body if you want to

1 looks as if you'll get more in it. 2 looks a bit - silly? (maybe because I'm considerably over 40 Grin) It's too wide for its height.

Mind you, I'm not sure 1 appeals to me as such, simply that it's better than the alternative. I think it looks "worklike" because it actually looks like an a4 ringbinder, which isn't a great look.

2 is very chic.

The simplicity and softer shape of 2 complements & offsets the strong colour nicely. IMHO. I also think it's a more interesting/modern shape whereas the shape of 1 is perhaps more traditional, reminiscent of structured oversized "it" bags from a while back.

I'd say both are fine for work but 2 looks smaller than 1 so it depends what/how much stuff you want to carry in it. If it's just the general phone/purse/small notebook etc stuff then 2 should be fine.
