Help me choose between these two orange bags

I'm considering purchasing one of these two bags for summer made by Mansur Gavriel one of my fave bag designers,

The shad of orange is the same just the lighting has made them look different;

The first is more boxy/formal/work like

The second more relaxed and casual I'd say though both can be work or casual I'd say so generally just wandering which one is better as I can't decide! Both similar price £600

1 or 2?

I’d have the softer one, but someone would have to buy it for me!!!

Preservethewood · 06/04/2021 23:00

If you can afford one, you can afford both Smile

starfishmummy · 06/04/2021 23:01

Love the colours but not the shapes.

lovevlyt · 06/04/2021 23:10

@Preservethewood 😂 no chance I cannot buy both!!

Of the two I prefer 2 , on a different note If you're after orange huss Ed about this :

  • comes with a detachable long crossbody strap - can be worn 4 ways

Getting carried away on orange now Smile if you are after orange look at Aspinall . They do a few styles in colour they tag as"marmalade pebble"

DIshedUp · 06/04/2021 23:43
  1. The softer shape works better with the colour
PickAChew · 06/04/2021 23:47

You'd get more in 1 but you'd never find it again because where are all the pockets?

CrazySheepLady · 07/04/2021 01:14

Definitely 1. The 2nd one has an awkward look about it. 1 is more timeless and will work for different situations.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/04/2021 01:39

Tk Max

Spend the other £550 on something else

Both £50 then number 2. Much nicer in my 52yo opinion!

ViciousJackdaw · 07/04/2021 01:46

Are you sure that they are a practical size? Would you be able to get what you need for any given day in them without distorting their shape? I only ask as my first thought was that they would be too small for me. Of course, they could be the perfect size for you. If you haven't already done this, check the dimensions (inc. straps).

I'm only saying all this because £600 is a lot of money and I'd hate for you to waste it. I can appreciate the bags but they are not to my personal taste so couldn't make a valid choice. The colour is beautiful though and I bet they smell fantastic! Happy bagging!

Time40 · 07/04/2021 01:48

I think TK Maxx, too. Or Boundary Mill Stores.

But if it's got to be one of those, then 1, because I've had a bag the shape of 2, and everything got squished together and was difficult to get at. (They do look nice quality bags).

Mmn654123 · 07/04/2021 02:01

2

Because the shape of 1 is everywhere and quite dull now.

@lovevlyt no not childish at all, perhaps just a little more young and trendy!

justwaydamin · 07/04/2021 08:51

I love them! The first one reminds me a little of a Céline. I was drawn to 1 first. But on second look, number 2 is more casual...
2 looks as though the leather would be buttery soft, bottega veneta style Grin

MyGrassIsBrowner · 07/04/2021 08:57

I personally think £600 for those is taking the p*ss. However I've just found this which is luuuuuuurvly!

I was looking into getting a MG bag last year and I found this blog post
theleathercrafter.wordpress.com/2017/02/01/unpopularopinion-review-of-mansur-gavriel-core-bags/
I didn’t buy one and now I never would.

justwaydamin · 07/04/2021 10:06

You've got me searching orange bags now Grin
I like this one!

ZaraW · 07/04/2021 10:11

I looked at the MG bags in Selfridges before lockdown the quality didn't seem that great. I really like the Mulberry Portobello but ended up with a bag from Smythson.

lovevlyt · 07/04/2021 10:35

@justwaydamin absolutely stunning im looking into it now loool - have you seen IRL how's the quality?
