If these were your eyebrows what would you do with them?

They aren't very "there" and Dd takes the piss. I don't like heavy make up and prefer to accentuate things rather than make them obviously fake and like slugs. This is their completely natural state. I have honey blonde hair with lots of red tints and pink toned skin.

If these were your eyebrows what would you do with them?

Your eyebrows are lovely and natural. I'd leave them alone and maybe consider dishing out a bit of your DDs own medicine to her if she does it all the time.

Greenvalleysightseeker · 02/04/2021 13:12

They are perfectly lovely eyebrows. If you wanted to darken them slightly to frame your eyes you could use a dye as mentioned above. I use Just for Men beard dye which works really well, but I do need to use Vaseline around them so that I don't dye the skin too. I do it every month or six weeks and don't need to do anything day-to-day which helps in the morning!

Greenvalleysightseeker · 02/04/2021 13:14

Just be sure you take lots of photos of DD and her eyebrows when they are looking most spectacular, to remind her later on! Bide your time. Revenge will be sweet.

schroeder · 02/04/2021 13:16

I wouldn't do anything, they look great.

Ghostlyglow · 02/04/2021 18:31

They are perfectly nice. The menopause stole my eyebrows and I would love mine to be like yours. I sometimes use L'Oréal eyebrow pencil, but have pretty much given up and just leave them now. I think the thick, heavy brow look will be out of fashion soon, anyway.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 02/04/2021 18:46

I would only bother if you wear dark eye makeup and eyeliner, otherwise the eyebrows completely disappear.

But they look nice how they are!

boireannach · 02/04/2021 19:02

@AprilFoolaround
Your eyebrows are lovely but you eyelashes are really really nice 😊

Mellonsprite · 02/04/2021 19:17

I would tint them then pencil in any gaps. I would use a light brown.
Mine are much more sparse with age now, and I prefer them more defined but still natural, so I do this.

Tehmina23 · 02/04/2021 19:20

Mine are much sparser & naturally blonder so I can hardly see them to fill them in!!

I use Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows in Soft Blonde.

expectopelargonium · 02/04/2021 19:25

Nature designed your eyebrows to go with your face and colouring, and if you don't wear much make-up then heavy drawn-on brows would look absurd.

I'd tell your dd to stop taking the piss.

Tangledtresses · 02/04/2021 19:34

I have a teen too... don't listen to them let her get on with her slugs and don't give it another thought 😃

Puffinhead · 02/04/2021 19:34

They’re fine. I would just tell your DD not to be so bloody rude.

NameChange74567 · 02/04/2021 19:50

My brows are light like yours but I have dark brown hair. I use the NYX eyebrow powder pencil to darken them a bit. It's the best one I've tried that keeps them looking natural, I fill them in slightly then use the spoolie on the end of the pencil to give a soft finish.

needmetime · 02/04/2021 19:53

Look perfect but if you wanted darker you you could tint

AprilFoolaround · 03/04/2021 07:17

Goodness, thank you, I was expecting lots of advice on how to make them bigger and bushier but you've all given me a confidence boost to tell Dd to bog off and worry about her slugs instead of my eyebrows. Bloody teenagers, think they know it all.

I think you're on the right track.
It's a phase. She'll outgrow it Smile

LadyEloise · 03/04/2021 09:37

I too think your eyebrows are fine. Far nicer than slugs.

MumofSpud · 03/04/2021 09:58

I use an eyebrow mascara - just one from the (cheap) 'Natural collection' at Boots - £2.49 (they do different colours)

Arbadacarba · 03/04/2021 10:05

I have fine brows though not as well-shaped as yours. I use brow mascara - choose mid-brown shades to avoid the 'slug' effect.

Also, it sounds counter-intuitive but plucking the underneath of a fine brow into a straight line gives it more definition and makes it look thicker - don't take anything from the width, just remove any hairs that are straggling below the main line.

pontiouspilates · 03/04/2021 10:07

You have nice brows and a cheeky teen! I like Glossier Boy Brow for a bit more definition on my brows.

mayneedabiscuit · 03/04/2021 10:14

They are fine! Do nothing and tell your dd not to insult you on your looks. It has no bearing on the type of person or mother you are!

IdblowJonSnow · 03/04/2021 10:17

Nice shape. I'd get them tinted at a salon. Doesnt hurt, lasts for weeks, not expensive.
I get mine done every few months, pre covid, it does make a difference to my face overall.

Oblomov21 · 03/04/2021 10:23

Mine are like this. Take comfort that yours are actually ok! they're not that bad. it's only because it's all the rage to have these huge cara Delvine eyebrows that people actually forgotten what normal eyebrows look like.

I have mine occasionally dyed a light brown in a nail salon. this works a treat and last for many months. I only have it done two or three times per year. may I suggest that it's easy, costs £8, and means no daily maintenance.

squashyhat · 03/04/2021 10:26

Grow a fringe. Seriously. I have pale eyebrows and can't be arsed to do anything with them. So I just hide them.

Confusedandshaken · 03/04/2021 11:50

First of all, I don't think they look too bad at all. You could just add a little colour or definition with any one of the thousands of products available.

That being said, I have a lot of natural red in my hair too and my eyebrows went grey and started to fade much sooner than my hair did. It wasn't so awful that anyone else ever noticed or commented but it bothered me, so eventually I had them microbladed. Not big black slugs but a natural looking arch in a blend of browns that resembled my hair colour. I love the effect. It lifts my face and makes me look groomed.
