Tell me about Korean exfoliating mitts!

I've ordered a neom candle and have a book saved for an epic soak as I have purchased aforementioned mitts. Has anybody used these before and if they have, any tips or advice beyond the obvious don't use it on the face? Smile

I read on here that you need to soak for quite a long time first, 15 mins or longer and not to use product with it. It gets loads of skin off - yuk!

I'll report back on Saturday. I'm expecting to be reborn.

Soak for a long time, no bath products, then rub in little circles all over.

If you have dry skin you’ll feel so smooth like it’s made of glass afterwards.

Juliesipadwillcallyouback · 25/03/2021 22:29

I bought them after seeing them raved about on here. They do indeed get shitloads of skin off, it's unbelievable how much rolled off skin is at the bottom of the bath after a good sesh!

sausagerollcake · 25/03/2021 22:31

I though physical exfoliation was a no-no for healthy skin?

For face - correct. For body - it's quite beneficial, for most people. The skin on your face is generally thinner & more sensitive.

Why? Does this include hot cloth scrubs....😬
AnExcellentWalker · 25/03/2021 22:36

I love my Korean exfoliating cloths, BTW. I also have a Salux cloth, for regular use in the shower. Exfoliating, but rather milder than the Korean cloth. Not sure I could go back to anything else now...

Woahbodyforrrrm · 25/03/2021 22:39

Rolled up dead skin at the bottom of the bath???? I'm in, where can I get these mitts of greatness?

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/03/2021 22:45

I love them. I don’t bath very often but find loads cones off during a regular shower - in, soap body, wash face, scrub arms and arse, sit down to scrub legs then shave them, rinse rinse, rinse.

It’s both revolting and marvellous. And doesn’t work on everyone, DH has tried a few times with different lengths of soaking and gets nothing. Twice a week I shed a spare person Shock

LibertyMole · 25/03/2021 23:04

I tried them and nothing happened. I was very disappointed.

babyinthacorner · 25/03/2021 23:09

Oooh I need these... anyone have a link?!

Korean Italy Towel Exfoliating Bath Washcloth [4 Pcs] (Green) Techef Home www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LGLOKLM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_NZZJ4AN3V2RJY192GJF3?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I got them after I saw them on here. They are brilliant and very cheap. Better than a body scrub and no mess to clear up. Only used them in the shower so far the bath advice was new to me! You get such a close shave after using them. I can't wait to tan after using these.

ShaneTheThird · 25/03/2021 23:54

I have them they get off so much skin its mad.

ShaneTheThird · 25/03/2021 23:55

Also because it makes your skin feel warm with all the rubbing, cold moisturiser feels so extra after.

youmakemydreamscometrue · 26/03/2021 00:29

They're so gross but so fabulous, the sediment left in the bath is extremely satisfying!
You do need to have a good soak for maximum benefit. Start of gently and don't get too carried away especially on your chest/bonier bits.

PrincessPea11 · 27/03/2021 08:08

They're a revelation. You need a good long soak though with no products. Your skin will be smooth as a baby's bum after but don't do as I once did ages ago and be tempted to give your face the once over

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/03/2021 10:06

Ha! Just reading this while lounging about in my robe and thinking "I need to do this again"
I'm not a bath fan , let alone a hot bath with no bubbles fan , but it is soooooo worth it for the after effects .

The skin rolls off and my bum is Baby Soft after but you'll just have to take my word for that Wink

emsyj37 · 27/03/2021 14:05

They are life-changing, although I do put bubble bath in my bath and they still seem to do the job. I dont use soaps or anything with the mitt itself though, obviously.
They are perfect for when your fake tan starts to wear off, you can just take the whole lot off and start again.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/03/2021 14:19

How do you all wash yours? In the machine with clothes?

emsyj37 · 27/03/2021 14:33

@AnneLovesGilbert yes, in the machine with my towels and bath mats.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 27/03/2021 14:34

I only ever use them in the shower and they work fine. I wash my body and hair as usual, so no soaking, just water running down over me, and then use the cloth - plenty of skin comes off.

Notanotherhun · 27/03/2021 16:59

I soaked for 45 mins while watching Deadly Illusions on Netflix. The film was shite but found myself watching for the full time I scrubbed down everywhere. Not quite the shedding of my dreams but I do feel smooth.

Lantanacamara · 27/03/2021 18:17

Are they painful when scrubbing?
