Which online Retailers take a long time to process returns?

Keen to know which retailers you find take a really long time to process returns just so I can try to avoid using them. I know during lockdown things are slower as there are less staff onsite and everything is slightly slower, but some of my recent experiences have been crazy.

Saint + Sofia - took 2 weeks to acknowledge receipt of an item sent back via courier, then they emailed to say it would take 2 weeks for them to process the return as 14 days is their usual processing time. So almost a month from the point that I posted it back!

Arket - very slow to process returns and very minimal communication

Any others?

Marks and Spencer - they won't even entertain a query about a refund for 14 days after you've posted it back to them.

There was also somewhere I bought a sports bra from that quarantined returns for about a week before they processed anything. Took about a month to get the money back.

I found Hobbs extremely poor.

AncoraAmarena · 19/03/2021 15:42

I am still waiting for an H&M refund, nearly 2 weeks later.

On the other hand, Zara are so quick. I am usually refunded within a day or so.

M&S have taken about a week in my experience recently, not too bad.

Cluckycluck · 19/03/2021 16:17

@Waferbiscuit I've found Arket slow to refund but if you contact them they are fantastic. I sent an email complain about lack of refund, I had a phonecall within the hour to resolve the issue.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 19/03/2021 16:25

ASOS aren't great, I had to chase them for a refund a few months ago. However, this was in January when lockdown and Brexit were delaying everything so that could have been part of it.

Zara! Also Miss Selfridge. Customer service at both is non existent. Have found fatface very good.

Madmarchlockdown · 19/03/2021 16:31

I generally find Zara very good. I find sézane slow but thorough and good response to emails etc.

Marpan · 19/03/2021 16:35

Tommy Hilfiger takes MONTHS.

cessie322 · 19/03/2021 20:33

Sweaty Betty, at the very minimum 3.5 weeks despite receiving the return within 2 days. This has happened twice so I’m very slow to ever order from them again .

Oly4 · 19/03/2021 20:47

I find M&S quick.
White Company take forever and Boden is also taking forever at the moment

FeelinSpendy · 19/03/2021 21:13

Been waiting over 3 months for a refund from Selfridges and they have ignored my last 2 emails!

Hairydilemma · 19/03/2021 21:15

Jigsaw took a good couple of weeks earlier this month

Happytentoes · 19/03/2021 21:16

Esprit. Just dire.

RaininSummer · 19/03/2021 21:18

Joe browns are slower than some. Took them around 2 weeks longer than Joules and white Stuff when I sent all back the same day.

SaigonSaigon · 19/03/2021 21:18

My sister has had a hard time recently with Hush

jclm · 19/03/2021 21:19

Blacks beats them all: 6 weeks to process a refund with no acknowledgment of receipt. The refund was for around £550 and I was having sleepless nights!!

20FlowerPower · 19/03/2021 21:21

UNIQLO were at least 4 weeks for me recently. Have also, as pp has mentioned, had some issues with Sweaty Betty but that was around the time of them moving warehouse last year and they've been fine again since then.

OhTheTastyNuts · 19/03/2021 21:30

Jigsaw - took more than two weeks to even acknowledge they had received the return. I wont order from them again.

H&M - still waiting to hear about a return I made 10 days ago.

I've had brilliant service recently from Next and Sports Direct.

tootyfruitypickle · 19/03/2021 21:34

Clarks took a month but that was in august.

Uniqlo recently were unbelievably quick - like a day after posting !

M&s within a week for me

GordonettaBennett · 19/03/2021 21:44

White company have been dreadful.

Took me 2 months, 6 emails and 5 phone calls to do a simple return of an item I bought instore. Staff kept promising to sort it out and call me back but never did.

Worst customer service I've ever had. Their trust pilot reviews are dreadful.

They did give me a gift voucher as compensation but it doesn't make up in any way for the amount of time and frustration spent on the matter!

missbridgerton · 19/03/2021 21:59

I bought my DDs BF a belt from Tommy Hilfiger that was too small. It took them 6 weeks to refund once received. Never using them again direct.

Navabi - took nearly 3 months to get my money back and that was with persistent chasing/complaining to the bank.

I now never use my debit card for online purchases.

Volcanoexplorer · 19/03/2021 22:06

A recent H&M return took 2.5 weeks.

RaphaTwat · 19/03/2021 22:08

Arket pretty bad
Rixo - dire
Maje - took 6 weeks

But if you order from net a Porter direct (even those brands) I find it much slicker

Alaphilippe · 20/03/2021 07:30

Baukjen
