Ive been using superdrug hotcloth vitamin D cleanser which is nice but i think has irritated my skin. Think i need to rethink all my skincare products again and start off with a dfferent cleanser.
What is a nice gentle one for someone with rosacea,

You can get Soolantra on the internet from a variety of decent internet pharmacists:
onlinedoctor.superdrug.com/soola-ppc.html
No need to see the GP.
It works really well.

PeacheyPeach · 16/03/2021 08:45

@jinglecatjingle yes im going to try and get this prescribed by the doctor as it seems to be really effective.
Has anyone tried azelaic acid as part of their skin care routine.?

I got Soolantra via the Superdrug private prescription (after reading all the rosacea threads on here!) and it’s totally sorted out my mine.

.

misscockerspaniel · 22/03/2021 08:44

Has anybody tried LED (light mask) treatment for rosacea?

CMOTDibbler · 22/03/2021 08:49

@Ohdeariedear me too. I'd been faffing around with cleansers, moisturisers etc but did the Superdrug Dr thing last week and started with Soolantra on Saturday

Ohdeariedear · 22/03/2021 08:51

@CMOTDibbler oh good luck. Mine improved within a couple of days, hope you see similar success!

CMOTDibbler · 22/03/2021 09:02

Wow, that fast? Mine is all redness, soreness rather than acne type so thought it would take weeks/months to look better. I just want to not be bright red in spite of wearing F50 in February

Also recently started the Soolantra, I only put it across my cheeks and nose, where I get red, is that what everyone else does?

Soolantra is the bollocks. This is my before and after photos, there is 7 weeks between these. I use it occasionally for flare ups now but it is essentially under control. Not all GP's will prescribe it without a dermatology consult which is impossible to get, this was two tubes at about £40/tube. VERY much worth it.

That is an amazing difference!

PeacheyPeach · 23/03/2021 18:16

@nothingiswrong that is an amazing result.
I went to the docs and he wouldn't prescribe me the soolantra at this time because he said he didn't want to give me such a strong prescription. So he he has given me metronidazole gel. I'm just using it on my nose and chin . can't say I can see a difference but it's only been a few days. I have a giant spot on my nose. It's so depressing 😭😂

Metronidazole is an antibiotic? Soolantra works by killing the dermodex mites that live in your skin, which is what they think cause rosacea. The active ingredient is ivermectin, not an antibiotic. I sent pictures of my skin to the website and they prescribed online. They won't tell your GP either if you don't want them to.

Twinkie01 · 23/03/2021 18:44

There's a range called Kalme which is especially for rosacea. I think Cat Deeley advertises it. It has capers in which are apparently good for rosacea. I got my daughter a little sample set as she suffers from it and she said it's made a huge difference.

PeacheyPeach · 23/03/2021 20:15

@nothingiswrong maybe I need to get onto
the superdrug Dr then. He hadn't heard of it either I told him about it which he then googled it!
@twinkie01 I've not heard of that. Capers as an ingredient that's unusual isn't it. Will have a look at that x

here Kalme range

misscockerspaniel I don’t think it was LED but I’ve just had laser treatment for my rosacea. I’ve been on lymecycline for years, tried soolantra (which interestingly did absolutely nothing) and I was running out of options, so went for the laser. It bloody hurt, took longer than I was expecting and the smell was revolting. It also wasn’t cheap. But desperate times call for desperate measures. If I get a 60% improvement in my skin I was told that was excellent- after all these years I’ll take anything even near half of that.
