Freddy jeans are amazing, well worth the money, slimming and stay up

Brilliant customer service too!

This is going to depend a lot on people's body shape, what sort of look/style they like and their own idea of what flattering means.

thedevilinablackdress · 06/03/2021 09:17

(I like Levi's 501s and Wedgies)

kmini · 06/03/2021 09:18

Op perhaps say your body shape/height and what you find restrictive/negative about your existing jeans. I

Years ago I bought a pair of George jeans in Asda and they are the jeans I've had most compliments on.

Happytentoes · 06/03/2021 13:08

I like Esprit and Mango. I am pretty straight up & down, Ona good day ‘athletic’ 😬

MiddlesexGirl · 06/03/2021 13:14

Following with interest.

The thing that is lacking for me with most jeans is comfort. They're just hugely uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. They dig in round the waist. The waist is always at awkward midriff level so the belly flops over it, the actual waist gets cold and I'm constantly trying to hitch them up. They dig in round the thighs and round the calves. Stretch doesn't work because to be comfy they just stretch so all the bulges show.
But there is a glimmer of hope as I have lost weight recently so there's not so many bulges. Still want a pair that stays up on the waist though.
And I love the look of a decent pair of skinnies. Just can't wear them for more than a couple of hours and preferably standing!

@MiddlesexGirl, If they contain lycra you need a belt. I am currently wearing Fat Face ones and they are really comfy.

OneMillionSteps · 06/03/2021 20:40

M&S Magic jeans

joneybabe · 06/03/2021 21:13

Joni jeans from topshop/asos
Extremely comfortable

Rina66 · 06/03/2021 21:32

My favourites are-
Top Shop - Baxter Straight Leg
River Island - Molly Skinny
Mint Velvet - Boyfriend jeans
Zara - Mid Rise Sculpt
Sainsbury’s - Black Skinny
Primark - skinny in 2 sizes bigger to wear around the house as loungewear!

Nearlyadoctor · 07/03/2021 19:41

Levi 311’s or Holland and Cooper Jodphur jeans are both my favourites. I’m 5’4 size 8/10 and like skinny jeans.

MissyB1 · 07/03/2021 19:45

I’m still trying to find them! I like bootcut or straight. I have a pair of white stuff straight cut that are 10 years old, desperately need more jeans but can’t find any nice ones. Straight cut jeans seem to have changed shape 🤔

MiddlesexGirl · 07/03/2021 23:06

Not very keen on belts. They have to be quite tight to be effective and they're a faff.
If my running stuff can stay up without a belt why can't a pair of jeans?

Borntohula · 07/03/2021 23:14

I find flared jeans more flattering, personally.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2021 07:34

All saints Grace skinny jeans.

RampantIvy · 08/03/2021 07:40

M and S Sophia straight leg jeans

They look very high waisted on the model, but they aren't as high waisted as that (or maybe I have a long body). Straight legs suit me better than skinnies - 5'7" size 12 pear shape.

Sooverthemill · 08/03/2021 09:12

Jeans are too personal to your style and your body shape/height. I own around 30 pairs of jeans and my most comfortable and the one I get most compliments on are my Boden girlfriend jeans and my j crew slim boyfriend oh and my Boyish Tommy

Maxellious · 08/03/2021 09:16

@middlesexgirl because running gear is all stretch and lycra, whereas denim (even with lycra added) has a completely different set of properties so it behaves completely differently as a fabric.

It does sound like you are a body shape that may struggle with jeans, the waistband needs to be structured for the jeans look and also the jeans to stay up. I have assumed you're apple-shaped and tend to put weight on in the middle? The problem is denim has limited stretch and is heavy, so it tends to drop/fall down unless it is fitted to the waist. But when the waist is wider than the legs, jean gravity is not your friend! I think you probably are going to have to size to fit your stomach comfortably and use a belt. Or try jeggings?

Rua13 · 08/03/2021 12:27

I just bought Raey dad Jean's.deep pockets as a bonus.

Sooverthemill · 08/03/2021 12:30

@Rua13 they were too baggy for me! It absolutely depends in your shape and size I think ( I'm short and slim and no curves anywhere!)

WindyPudding · 08/03/2021 17:06

M&S Sienna straight are my most flattering and comfortable. I'm pear-shaped with a big bum and smaller waist (well compared to my bum at least!) and jeans often gape at the back, but these don't.
