I tend to do the same at morning and at night, which I'm sure is very wrong but i like to keep things simple.

Cleanser, glycolic acid toner, serum, moisturiser.

I've also got random other things like masks and oils which I use as and when required.

I don't much like the look of NB, but even if I did, I'd be scared to watch her stuff as i would end up buying everything and then getting confused 😂.

I'm 43 with good skin. Should probably also use an eyecream but no real need so far, so I keep forgetting.

Stand back and prepare to be overwhelmed with suggestions of vitamins, acids, niacinamide, tret, retinol, hyaluronic whatsits etc. 😱

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 12:08

I have just introduced the glycolic acid toner. Started that this morning so feeling.pleased.that im slightly upto date with that one @curlytops21 😁

Normally....

AM:
Cleanser
Moisturiser
Sun cream

After-work:
Cleanser
Aloe Vera gel
Moisturiser

PM:
Cleanser
Glycolic toner (every other day)
Moisturiser
Eye gel
Vaseline all over face

Once a week nightly on different days:
Leave on hydrating mask
Sheet mask
Overnight glycolic skin peel

Once weekly daytime:
Face mask

More recently though I've been using only cleanser, moisturiser, sun cream, aloe Vera gel, Vaseline from the above routines. Motivation and routine related due to WFH and lockdown.

wiltingflower · 03/03/2021 12:45

Looking to add a retinol, vitamin c product and nicotinamide soon- not all at the same time though.

wiltingflower · 03/03/2021 12:46

@Ginevere would love to hear more!

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 13:57

wiltingflower · 03/03/2021 14:03

It does look like a lot 😂 but I have an oily face and to control this need to wash my face midday/after work.

The eye gel is supposed to keep my undereyes hydrated and minimise the appearance of fine lines, it's something I bought before I knew more about how different products work so I can't really tell if it's effective, probably not, but I'm trying or was trying to use it up for now.

QueenPaw · 03/03/2021 14:10

Oh and I use retinol eye serum and rapidlash

scubadub · 03/03/2021 14:11

I throw a bit of water on my face in the morning and SOMETIMES I take my make up off at night 🤣🤣🤣

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 14:18

@scubadub this was my routine until the beginning of the year 🤣 thats why im ao confused now!

I'm 40 and have combination skin, in the mornings to cleanse atm I'm using Dr Botanicals cleansing bar, couple times a week I'll use a enzyme peel mask or a scrub. Then use a serum or a little facial oil under a moisturiser, I'm using Charlotte tilbury and Bobbi brown products atm, I have lots and alternate them a lot, I find sticking to one brand boring, I know you should stick and see results from one product but I struggle with that.

Evenings, I'll take my make up off with a balm cleanser and double cleanse with a face wash to remove the sticky residue, tone if I need to. Some evenings I'll put a clay mask on or use glycolic pads to exfoliate and deep clean the pores, followed by serum and moisturiser and lip balm. I always start and end the day with clean refreshed skin even if I've stayed in all day.

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 03/03/2021 15:15

AM
Wash with acid cleanser
Serum
Moisturise

PM
Oil cleanse
Foaming cleanse
Moisturise
Then Alternate between my retinol or acne cream

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 03/03/2021 15:23

AM
Cleanse with Medik8 resurface gel. I’m on retinol at the moment so trying to keep the acids low. This is great because it’s got glycolic in it but it’s only temporarily on my face so less chance of irritation.

Medik8 Liquid peptide serum it’s not an essential by any means but I find it makes my skin softer and plumper thus obscuring pores and fine lines a little.

Vitamin C again Medik8 (I don’t work for them I promise I just by accident fell in love with their products). One of the most important things I added to my routine. Helps clear sun damage and pigmentation. My skins a lot more even toned since I started. It helps boost the efficacy of my SPF I’m told too.

Sometimes a light moisturiser but my skins very oily and I don’t often need it.

SPF I use the Thank You Farmer Light Sun Essence. It’s factor 50 and Korean and they really know their stuff when it comes to SPF. If I could do nothing else I’d use spf daily, it’s the most important step.

PM

I cleanse twice using an oil or a balm for my first then a gel for my second but you don’t have to. You could use the same cleanser twice if you wanted to as long as it melts off any make up.

Then I apply Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 which is a type of retinol, it’s really made a difference in the texture of my skin both lines and pores and it’s great for keeping me spot free. I put it on a clean face and don’t apply anything else so it’s a pretty easy routine when I’m knackered.

My routine hasn’t always been the same and it’s trial and error really as to what suits your skin. It’s such an individual thing.

Murtaghjames · 03/03/2021 15:40

I do very little. I don't cleanse or tone. I moisturise with nivea in the morning and that's it. No masks, scrubs or serums. The only time I get water on my face is when I wash my hair in the shower twice a week. I have a body wash everyday but don't put my face under the water. I've been told I've great skin (40 in April).

Greencabin · 03/03/2021 16:09

My evening routine is abit advanced then my morning one!

Morning - wash my face with a facewash and micro fiber cloth...wash off with cold water, put serum on, give my face a quick massage, eye cream , lipbalm , then moisturiser with spf.

Night time: wash face with facewash, use cleansing balm, use toner if needed, vit c serum, eye cream then lip balm.

Use a face scrub a couple of times a month and occasionally use one of the Lush face masks as a treat.

I love skincare and have tried a few different products/routines , this one seems to work for me - the spf and serums are the ones which make a big difference imo.

I'm nearly 34 and (not being big headed) my skin looks and feels very good and I've always had compliments on my complexion.

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 16:20

@queenpaw sounds quite similar to me apart from the prescription does rapidlash make your lashes grow?

@seensome i like the sound of the cleansing bar first thing, will look into that x

@sabrinathemiddleagewitch again mine sounds quite similar to yours apart from the acid cleanser as opposed to the acid toner ive started x

@notexactlyhappytohelp can i ask what form.does.the vitamin c come in that you put on after the serum

OP posts:
AnneShirleysNewDress · 03/03/2021 16:31

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp Which Medik8 vitamin C product do you use?

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 03/03/2021 16:36

@PeacheyPeach My vitamin c is a serum. It feels almost like an oil but sinks in very quickly. They do lovely vit c creams too if that would be a better fit for you.

@AnneShirleysNewDress It’s the Super C 30 Intense.

Fispi · 03/03/2021 16:38

Morning:
CeraVe Hydrating cleanser
Paula's Choice Antioxidant serum with Vit C
Eye cream (using one up, wont bother again)
Sometimes moisturiser
La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF

Night:
Balm/oil cleanser
CeraVe again
Moisturiser

Twice a week PM instead of moisturiser I use Alpha H liquid gold glycolic acid, nothing on top of it.

Occasionally Origins Drink Up Overnight Mask

I havent ventured into retinol yet but may do this year. Skin is really good but I am lucky and do have good skin.

zenasfuck · 03/03/2021 16:41

AM
Cleanse face with hyaluronic face wash (cerave)
Toner
Caudalie grape water spray
Neals yard moisturiser

PM
Double cleanse with balm/cerave
Glycolic acid
Eye cream - alternate vit c/retinol
Alternate Vitamin c serum / retinol serum
Khiels midnight recovery oil
Neals yard avocado and vit E moisturiser

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 16:51

So im looking at everyone's routines and obviously stand out products that im not using is the spf. My moisturiser does have spf in it but I'm guessing theres not enough in it. And also a vitamin c serum aswell.
Do you put spf on even if your not going out? I never use 50 on my face in the summer as i love a tan 🤣 but guessing this is why i look old now. Will have to pop the fake tan on my face from now on!?

OP posts:
Boggydog · 03/03/2021 17:15

Mine is morning:
Cleanse with cream cleanser (ponds is my favourite)
Tone with hydrating toner
Eye cream
Vic C serum
LRP hyluronic serum
Origins day cream factor 40 sometimes oil as well in depths of winter

Night it’s
Oil or cream cleanser
Acid toner and spritz with something hydrating
Night eye cream
Indeed labs retinol
LRP hydrating serum
Night cream currently L’Oréal

This looks bonkers but it’s really quick and has made such a difference too my skin. I have dry and dehydrated skin and if I don’t do this it gets taught and sore.
