Ive just watched Nadine Baggots youtube channel and her am and pm skincare routine
She was.talking about so many different types of products that she uses now i feel im definitely missing things out !?
Can you tell me what your routine is
Mine is pretty simple

Am - toner, serum, eyecream, moisturiser

Pm - cleanser, serum , eyeserum and eye cream, nightcream

Twice a week i use a face mask

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 18:19

@boggydog so you use 2 different types of toner in the day, do you feel it makes a difference x

OP posts:
QueenPaw · 03/03/2021 18:38

Yep, it's fab for lash growth

Boggydog · 03/03/2021 18:46

I think so! I don’t like using an acid toner in the morning as I’m worried about sun damage.

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 19:08

@boggydog as ive just bought an acid.toner should i use this in the evening then? Does the acid make you prone to sunburn?

I have a relatively low maintenance routine as I have sensitive skin and rosacea and it was very dehydrated. Use:
Am cleanser (just a cream cleanser that I wipe off with a reusable eco pad)
Serum and or oil depending on time of year
Moisturiser
SPF

PM
Same is the AM actually apart from SPF. I've never bothered with an eye cream as I've not yet needed it. I am using LRP, Trilogy and Pestle & Mortar at the moment product wise!
I think trust what suits your skin and I found avoiding water as much as possible on my face made a huge difference with my skin less dehydrated so no double cleansing or oil cleansers that need to be removed with water or anything like that

Loopyloututu2 · 03/03/2021 19:15

I’m 40 and have recently gone (largely after watching NB!) from washing with simple face wash and then using simple moisturiser to feeling like I need a bit extra help so I’m now:

Am:
Hada labo liquid cleanser (gently buffing with a face flannel), rinse
Applying Hada Labo moisturiser (the red one that has hyaluronic acid and retinol in)
Then either sunblock spf30 (if I’m going out) or a cheap moisturiser with urea in it

Pm:
Wash with Hada Labo again
Hada Labo serum again
Vit c serum

I also am using a garnier moisturiser infused cloth-mask once a week.

I don’t mind any critique of my regime - is there anything I’m missing or should be adding do you think, skincare aficionados? I get a bit confused when watching NB tbh!

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 19:35

@loopyloututu2 do you use Hada Labo super hydrator? When would i use this and what does it do!?
Do you find the Hada Labo with the retinol and acid in affected your skin when you first started using it? Im a bit nervous about using retinol

OP posts:
Loopyloututu2 · 03/03/2021 19:47

Yes Peachy that’s the one. The red one - it has retinol and hyaluronic acid in. I’ve been using it after the Hada Labo cleansing wash both morning and before bed (not sure if you’re supposed to use it twice a day though🤷‍♀️) but haven’t had any side affects and I would say I have slightly sensitive/dry skin. I’ve only been using it a couple of weeks and I must say my skin does feel nice and more moisturised. I do use a cheap moisturiser with urea in it afterwards too though because I don’t think my skin feels hydrated enough with just the Hada Labo.
The garnier mask is really nice too it’s called moisture bomb tissue mask (it has hyaluronic acid and chamomile) and my skin has felt lovely today after using it last night - only about £2 from Superdrug - I’m going to try to use it at least once a week.

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 20:10

@mollyvolley yes i find water foamy face washs are awful for my skin so have tried to keep away from them x
@loopyloututu2 will have to take a look at the masks aswell. It was the Hada Labo range that i saw on Nadine Baggots youtube channel and thats what started to confuse me!!!

OP posts:
Boggydog · 03/03/2021 20:19

I think it’s better to keep acids/m and retinol to the evening. I think I read this on Caroline Hirons ages ago but might have made it up!

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 20:44

@boggydog ive just checked and your right the acid toner is meant to be used at night so could i use my other toner in the morning x

OP posts:
Boggydog · 03/03/2021 20:50

Bingo brain cells haven’t all gone yet!

Lilypad78 · 03/03/2021 22:47

I'm early 40's with combination skin, normal t zone but really really dry cheeks, neck &, for some reason, eyebrows. Skin is clear & I don't break out but it needs a lot of hydration or it feel rough & looks dull, it has some patches of pigmentation. Can occasionally be a bit sensitive & is pretty line free so far.

AM
Creamy rinse off cleanser
AHA tonic
Hydrating rose water spray
Hydrating serum
Eye cream
Moisturiser
Spf

PM
Eye make up remover (if needed)
Micellar water cleanser
Hydrating rose water spray
Retinol serum/cream (only alternate nights)
Hydrating serum
Skin food as moisturiser (only on the really dry bits, not nose or chin)
Rosehip oil (on nights not using retinol)

Once a week i use a garnier hydrating sheet mask before bed.

It looks a lot written out but it only takes 5 minutes in am & 10 in pm. Have just bought a Rose quartz roller tool thingy to use at night but not got round to trying it yet. I would also like to introduce some vit c in the am to try & tackle the pigmentation but otherwise I'm happy this routine works.

Ginevere · 03/03/2021 22:55

Ok, here goes!

AM

  • cover face with a layer of glamglow super cleanse, leave it on while I brush my teeth, wash off with a hot flannel. Feels like having a mud mask every morning!
  • pixi collagen tonic, which I recently switched to instead of their glycolic, as my evening toner has glycolic and I didn’t want to overload. Only been using a few weeks but so far I like it, can feel it tingling when I use it and my skin feels smoother.
  • ginzing brightening serum. Like this a lot, but tbh I’ve never hit on a vitamin C serum I love- going to read back over everyone else’s routines for ideas!
  • origins anti ageing serum- won’t rebuy, don’t see much difference tbh, but I’m 33 so want to make sure I use an anti ageing serum.
  • anti dark circles eye cream- currently using ole henriksen, but I prefer origins ginzing, so will switch back to that when it’s used up. I like to use a dark circle/brightening eye cream in the morning and an anti line in the evening.
  • origins ginzing face cream- love this, very fresh and smooth, makes my skin bright and lovely.
  • cosrx aloe SPF50- absolute must have. I never use less than SPF50 all year round, as I am pale and ginger, and I love this one.

PM

  • wash off makeup with a cleansing oil. Currently using Elizabeth Arden, which I tried as it was cheaper than the Chanel I was using. Sadly the Chanel is much better, so once I’m done with the EA I’ll have to fork out for the expensive one again.
  • follow with foaming cleanser, washed off with a Muslin cloth. Currently using ole henriksen, but it’s not setting my world alight. My fave is Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution which I’ll go back to after this (got an ole henriksen set for Christmas, hence the switch!)
  • alpha h liquid gold toner. Pricy, but worth it- makes my skin glow.
  • kiehls midnight recovery concentrate- LOVE THIS. Lightweight oil which soaks into my oily skin amazingly without making it worse.
  • hyaluronic Acid- I switch brands a lot, currently using inkey which is fine.
  • kiehls avocado eye- also love this, keeps lines at bay
  • origins night a mins night cream- ADORE this. When properly rubbed it in makes my skin so soft and glowy. I have a silicone face brush which I use at this point to massage all my creams in.
  • it cosmetics neck cream- for the lines! Also use an anti ageing cream on my hands before bed.
  • quick fix vitamin c night mask- slap a thick layer of this on last. Really lovely, smells amazing, totally agrees with my skin.

If I do all this I wake up so smooth and glowy. Highly recommend. I would say the most important parts are finding good serums that work with your skin, a really good night cream, and a great SPF. Also rubbing your creams in well makes a difference as they really sink into your skin instead of sitting on top. Using samples may be a good idea as there’s a lot of expensive trial and error involved in seeing what your skin likes.

I’ll also add that I love doing my routine, find it very zen and relaxing, which makes it a lot easier. If you’re not going to want to stick to a long routine, then it’s far better to just choose 1 or 2 good products you’ll definitely use, as consistency is key.

TableNiner · 03/03/2021 22:59

AM: Cleanser, hyaluronic serum, moisturiser, SPF 50
PM: Cleanser, Dermatica prescription, moisturiser
I use an eye cream sometimes, just a cheap one, as unconvinced you need a separate product.

I put on SPF every day, would only not put it on if I am staying indoors all day. It becomes a habit if you use it regularly.

If you have good genes you can get away with a lot more. If you don’t, then a good routine will help mitigate. Everyone is so individual.

PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 23:19

@ginevere wow this is fantastic!! Thank you it all sounds so lovely. I bet.your skin is amazing. So the kiehls midnight recovery concentrate lightweight oil do you put this on aswell as the serum and nightcream every night?
Were did you find out about all the products ? think ive been living under a rock.when it comes to beauty skincare!!

@lilypad78 my skin sounds quite similar to yours, can i ask what is the rose water spray for? Ive also been thinking about getting a jade roller but wasn't sure if it was just a fad type thing!?

OP posts:
PeacheyPeach · 03/03/2021 23:39

@tableniner how did you know to use a hyaluronic serum?
Yes im definitely going to have to buy spf its mad I've never even thought about using it apart from the odd day we have the sun out here! Ive always thought that the sun was good for my skin in terms of clearing it up ?

OP posts:
TableNiner · 04/03/2021 09:22

@PeacheyPeach Not sure exactly but loads of sites and articles recommended it and it’s a good way to add extra hydration.

Eye cream
Moisturiser with spf.

Oil cleanse or Micellar water cleanse
Foam cleanse with cerave salicylic cleanser
Glycolic toner or retinol serum, I alternate between the two
Eye cream
Moisturise.

Makeuplover · 11/05/2021 22:37

Am: Cleanser,Eye makeup remover, toner, serum, moisturiser, anti wrinkle cream, day cream and spf. PM: same as morning but add scrub, mask, Vaseline, eczema cream , lip balm and swap day cream for night cream and obviously no spf.

Makeuplover · 11/05/2021 22:38

Oh and eye cream.

ArnottsUnderpass · 11/05/2021 22:55

I'm not going to say my skin is great. Because it isn't, but that's my fault (picker 🙈). However it's loads better than it was. Mine is super sensitive so I have to treat carefully.

Morning:
Avene foaming cleanser
Inkey list hyaluronic acid
Avene moisturiser
Avene mineral factor 50 SPF. Will go back to my preferred brand as I find this a bit oily and leaves white cast.
La Roche Posay effaclar duo tinted as base.

Evening:
Inkey list oat balm cleanser
Avene foaming cleanser
Glycolic toner
Hyaluronic acid again
Inkey list niacinamide serum
Avene moisturiser
Facetheory vit c and retinol oil. This makes a huge difference.
