I actually didn't mean to post that pic, as it's so like the many others I've been wearing lately Blush! But there you are - jeans and sweater again! If I change, I'll post again if it looks nice.

I've got a few new bits for the warmer weather to accommodate my new size 18 lockdown hips. My phone is broken so you will have to wait until my new one arrives tomorrow for pics though.

Today I've got some khaki cargo trousers on, they have a slight roll so are 'ankle grazer' I think the term is, not sure about this and may have to roll them down. Paired with my Machine Head T-shirt I look like I'm off to download festival in 2008... however this is the joys of working from home :)

ParisJeTAime · 26/04/2021 16:29

Looking forward to seeing your new things @LivingDeadGirlUK!

I'm on a bit of a shopping hiatus and declutter at the moment, but I did buy a few bits secondhand, which don't count in my book Grin. They should see me through the summer anyway, and I did get rid of a lot of things I wasn't wearing, by selling or donating. So I'm justifying it that way!

I've got a couple of skirts and tops coming.

I wore a dress the other day for my youngests birthday (just because,we didn't go anywhere but had a birthday tea in the garden with his best friend) and wore a nice Sezane top with bargain reduced Next summery colour jeans yesterday. DH said I looked like a banker Confused SadHmm Having worked within a stone's throw of the gerkin many years ago I'm pretty sure I didn't...

This is today - same bargain 8€ Next jeans as yesterday and my favourite Sezane top.

I think DH just prefers everything to stay the same and doesn't like it if I dress very slightly differently - after all its only the slightest, tiniest tweak to the old blue/black jeans and a t shirt/ jumper that I used to live in as most people around here do...

ParisJeTAime · 28/04/2021 08:42

Lovely @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme! Especially love the dress. You look fab!

I haven't been wearing anything too exciting recently, (mainly jeans, unsurprisingly)! I'm expecting some new bits via ebay though, so will make a bit more effort. That was the point of me being part of this thread really; to encourage me to make more effort! But recently, that really hasn't happened and comfort / warmth (I am always cold) has been the priority. Will try something new today. Probably doesn't help that I've got the decluttering bug and keep selling or donating things!

eBay purchase number 1!

It's a sort of mushroom compared, jersey cotton dress / top on me. I tried it with tights and DH clutched his pearls and said too short HmmGrin. So I'm wearing with jeans (Asda's finest).

Off for a walk now, hence the thermal vest poking out of the top of the dress. Baltic here!

I guess the goal is for those comfy clothes that you 'go to' when your working at home etc to be a bit more 'yes I could pop out for a coffee at a nice coffee shop at any min without changing, yet I'm still comfy' rather than 'no one should see me like this, but I'm comfy' :p

Love the shape of that! it looks lovely on you, and I think the jeans will keep you warmer than tights.
ParisJeTAime · 29/04/2021 12:05

Thanks @LivingDeadGirlUK! You're right; the jeans kept me nice and warm on my walk just now. Touchée DH Wink

I know what you mean re 'go to' comfies. I think I might belong where @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme lives, as jeans and jumpers seem to be my uniform Blush! I am trying to get away from it, as I'm bored of wearing it tbh. I have also got rid of so many things that I just wasn't reaching for when I was deciding what time wear in the morning, because they either weren't comfy, didn't go with jeans the rest of my wardrobe or because I couldn't style them to make them warm enough! So, I did need to get some bits and pieces to replace them.

I've found eBay great recently actually. One duff item (a skirt size 18, but an old 18 which is more like a 14, with 32" waist). But otherwise all pretty good. I got a dress which was too dark a shade if grey for me, so I bleached it and I think it's come out quite well. Sort of a nude colour now.

I really like that top!
ParisJeTAime · 29/04/2021 12:30

Ah thank you @justanotherneighinparadise. I really like it. It's 100% cotton, secondhand, but great condition and very comfy! So, I'm very happy with it.

Hello all!

Here I am in eBay purchase #2. Navy, drawstring skirt from M&S. Wearing with old Guns & Rose's tee, (yes, I do actually like their music Blush).

Couldn't get a picture of the whole skirt, but it's knee length and has a sort of hanky hem.

I love this outfit, and am also a GNR fan :)

Met a friend for lunch today, wore my thermals to sit outside in case its chilly, picked it just right tbh was nice and comfy.

That's such a pretty shaped top.

I'm sulking because I'm still stuck in winter stuff and I am sooo sick of it! And both pairs of suitable boots for work have given up the ghost this week so I need to move to spring / summer footwear of which I have plenty.

I'm also sulking because I caved and ordered those white trainers from Clarks and picked them up in the shop but they didn't fit. So I ordered a different pair which I don't think I even like and I 'm going to have to reject them too. Bah!

On the plus side I am wearing a reversible top today. I normally only wear it one way round but last night I slopped some pasta down it. This morning I was still in bed and DH was in the bath when BIL arrived too early to pick him for their "hobby" FISHING so I threw it on inside out to answer the door and nobody knew mwahahah!

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend Smile

greyinganddecaying · 03/05/2021 20:51

I have been spending this weekend. I think it's hormonal!

I bought some sandals and trainers & a red swimsuit from tkmaxx (half the usual price), plus a nice red top which may have to go back if it's not long enough, but thought I'd take the risk. Then I saw a pair of navy palazzo trousers in Tesco which will be fab if we have some decent weather.

Most of my clothes are black, and I do like wearing black, but I know that navy/red/charcoal suit me better.

My buying summer clothes is probably the reason why the bank holiday weather has been so bad!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 04/05/2021 09:33

No it could be me, I put the summer duvet on the bed Friday night....

Cailleach1 · 04/05/2021 10:37

@JimmyJabs , thank you. I have picked up a nice idea from one of your posts. I have a few short sleeved cashmere and merino wool tops. Wearing a nice long-sleeved silk, or jersey, fitted top underneath may make them more wearable and versatile. Nice to lower the cost per wear and get use out of them!!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 04/05/2021 10:54

I'm quite slouchy today in a grey midi skirt and slouchy purple fine knit top, I will get a pic once my partner has woken up from his nap (he is having a day off), have already laddered my tights though :(

poorremus · 05/05/2021 07:15

I have also been spending over the BH weekend. I've ordered a dress and cardigan from Weirdfish. Never brought anything from them before, so we'll see. If I look reasonable I will pop up a picture once they arrive.

I was also browsing Shein curve last night - they have some really nice cotton tee shirts which are tempting me - thing is I really need to replace my work/smart trousers which I have grown out of a bit BlushI don't find that so inspiring!

ParisReturns · 05/05/2021 08:53

Oh hello! It is I, op. Excuse account change.

Omg yes, I am SICK OF WINTER CLOTHING also.

I've just bitten the bullet and ordered some Birkenstocks, which I've been eyeing for ages. Do I need need them...? Debatable! However, I don't have any comfy flat sandals which I can walk a distance in. I might sell some shoes to justify the purchase though and assuage my guilt!

Cailleach1 · 06/05/2021 20:25

Never tried Birkenstocks; must do. I love Ecco for comfy shoes and sandals. The best walking shoes I ever bought were by 'Mountain Warehouse'; at an outdoor clothing shop in Fort William.

I've decided I'm going to be tan this summer. For the first time in my life. I have skin which only has a burn (with some freckling) setting when exposed to the sun. I'm going to try some of the moisturisers/creams which deepen in colour as you apply them. Especially for the legs and face.

Any recommendations for a non-orange tint?

Cailleach1 · 06/05/2021 20:32

Sorry, realised this is really for garments, not creams and potions.
