Today I'm dressing for the weather I want instead of the weather we have. Linen blend trousers from H&M, Ted Baker t-shirt, and Fat Face cardigan. It's not looking terribly spring-like outside at the moment!

Lovely spring outfit @JimmyJabs!

I'm back in my leggings I'm afraid and a big, lambswool jumper from Uniqlo. It's cold again (boooo)! I had the heat on again this morning.

No pic as my bedroom is covered in laundry that needs putting away Blush but I got some new bootcut jeans, second hand on vinted but originally from Next. I got a size 18 but they are still have a bit of a case of them dropping down at the back... so my belt has been found.

StCharlotte · 23/03/2021 12:16

Today I'm dressing for the weather I want instead of the weather we have.

That will be my new mantra! If I had a pound for every time someone at work said "ooh you look very summery" I could afford a whole new summer wardrobe Grin

I do like your outfit @JimmyJabs and I think if I was slim enough and rich enough, I would dress head to toe in Ted Baker. I do have some Ted Baker sunglasses though.

I thought of you at the weekend @ParisJeTAime when the weatherman warned us not to put our winter coats away just yet. Boo!

Popped into the office this morning where there's still a relaxed lockdown dress code so no special outfit but I did see my boss for the first time in four months!

JimmyJabs · 23/03/2021 12:39

I've had to change into a cardy with full-length sleeves now! It wasn't a sensible approach, as it turns out, when your daily routine mostly involves sitting about.

JimmyJabs · 24/03/2021 09:19

This is my favourite jumper at the moment. With the jeans, I feel very 80s and like I should be off to a roller disco instead of looking at contracts and drinking tea.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/03/2021 09:24

@JimmyJabs you should go for it, roller skating seems to be really in at the moment. It's making me wonder if my old skates are still in my Dad's attic.

I'm in my green jumper dress again today, popping to the supermarket at lunch so thought I would make an effort lol. Think I will put my leather jacket on rather than my big coat.

mrswilson20 · 24/03/2021 09:47

I'm so excited it's Spring! Loving this thread you all look lovely

ParisJeTAime · 24/03/2021 11:12

Welcome @mrswilson20 Smile! Snap! I am so excited it feels a bit warmer! Woohoo!

Omg I would love to go to a roller disco. I think I might be more dressed for a 90s rave today though 🤔. Feeling a bit brave today, as I don't have to do the school run!

(Extremely bright, but a little more muted in person), Kia trousers from Lucy & Yak, XL
Longline navy top, 16, M&S

Will wear with white trainers I think.

Wow they are amazing @ParisJeTAime and look like a lovely fit too. I used to love a rave back in the day. I wonder when we will be allowed to pack ourselves in with 2000 other sweaty people again?

ParisJeTAime · 24/03/2021 11:41

Ah thanks @LivingDeadGirlUK! I tried the L, XL & XXL and these were definitely my favourite fit.

Yes, I was also a fan of raves when I was a young 'un. Drum and Bass was what I ended up listening to all the damn time in the olden days, as I lived with a Drum and Bass DJ! Now I don't listen to it at all, or EXTREMELY rarely. Still quite good though. The old stuff is still my preference due to happy memories! God I'm old Grin

JimmyJabs · 24/03/2021 14:14

I was only about 10 at the peak of rave thing, and now can't imagine anything worse than being surrounded by a lot of sweaty people who all want to hug me. But I do like the trousers 😁

ParisJeTAime · 24/03/2021 14:46

Haha thanks @JimmyJabs! I know. I don't think I'd like it now either really.

My favourite rave was in a farm / field in Shepton Mallet and that sounds a bit muddy and cold for me these days! This was circa 2005 though. There were lots of raves in the noughties. I think young whippersnappers still have raves not, but I'm definitely too old and sleepy these days.

StCharlotte · 24/03/2021 16:10

Those are very happy trousers @ParisJeTAime - they made me smile!

They remind me of a similar pair I had that were bronze coloured silk in the early 90s. I used to wear them with an amazing paisley hooded long shirt - TO WORK! In a posh office in London!! Mind you, I wasn't client facing then. A colleague used to come in wearing baggy jeans and HUGE jumpers, proper grungey. Sometimes she'd been home before work, mostly she just came straight in from some midweek party that was going on. Ironically, we were the two seniors in our section despite the state of us ha ha!

I used to live in a flat overlooking Clapham Common in 1989 when they used to have a rave on the common every Sunday during that particular "summer of love". Sometimes we'd go over and have a few ciders from the Windmill. It was a fabulous atmosphere round there then. Great memories...

ParisJeTAime · 24/03/2021 16:13

Ah thanks @StCharlotte. My lovely friend used to live near Clapham Common, so I know that area reasonably well. It's lovely there.

Black straight leg jeans from White Stuff with a Gap t-shirt and an ancient linen shirt originally from Asda. Also, you can't see my socks properly, but they have goldfish on them 🙂

It's quite warm again but I'm not feeling it for some reason - might even have to put my wool shawl on later...

Nice @JimmyJabs!

Yes, the weather has been a bit hit and miss here today. It's sunny, but windy, so doesn't feel particularly warm.

I've been taking advantage of the quiet house today and been for a run and then did yoga and spin bike too! I'm usually a one activity per day person, but thought since I've got the house to myself. I should be studying and yet, I am not Grin.

I am off to get changed and will post a pic if I look alright.

ParisJeTAime · 25/03/2021 16:45

I got dressed, but back into (clean) leggings! I will wear something more exciting tomorrow.

OP posts:
StCharlotte · 26/03/2021 16:02

Hello all!

Sorry been a bit quiet this week (make the most of it!) due to being manic with work and not wearing anything different or interesting. Didn't even make much effort for yet another dentist appointment yesterday.

Popped into the office again this morning and had a zoom meeting. This is a Violeta "flowy shirt" that I also wear tucked into this Monsoon skirt sometimes.

www.johnlewis.com/monsoon-talia-check-mini-skirt-teal/p4739435?sku=238337104&size=16&s_ppc=2dx92700057790251877&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjPaCBhDkARIsAISZN7Rch-9LQgxBStjnTuSLFn1t_gYD0nKh41UcbtkGYFFzOhVa1UJbQyYaAokxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Bracelet was a gift from a friend that I found when rummaging through my jewellery box yesterday. Hair is so bad now it required a hairband!

Car being serviced tomorrow at the dealership. The wardrobe possibilities for that are endless Grin

Grin charlotte! Too bloody accurate! Freezing today and rainy and windy. Actually looking quite nice now it's too late to go anywhere Hmm.

I spent the day wrapped in a tartan shawl having terrible hair, so I didn't post either!

ParisJeTAime · 27/03/2021 11:27

Hi all!

I am continuing in my quest for a decent capsule wardrobe and am getting rid of some bits. My straight leg jeans from M&S have been a success, so I have ordered some other branded straight leg jeans to try.

I love dresses and skirts, but am slowly realising, I just don't wear them! So I'm getting rid of all but a select few.

I've started watching some of those capsule wardrobe channels on youtube. There is one called Audrey Coyne who I love, but she has a totally different shape, size and colouring to me, so not sure how useful it is. She has an incredibly soothing voice though, so I will keep watching it!

Will post a pic when I'm dressed. Just had a yoga class this morning, so only changing now.

Hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend!
