Welcome @MyOtherProfile Smile. It is such a great thread! I get so much inspiration from it and it's friendly and chatty too, which suits me Grin

Hello hello!

I'm still so jealous of how you look in those jeans @ParisJeTAime! And yes to some excellent colours @JimmyJabs.

Here are my new culottes (quite out there for me) which I can't photograph very well and do look better in the flesh. They look more like palazzo pants on me. I'm not especially short (5'5") but there you go.

Anyway one is with the Boden cotton jumper from last week and boots. I can see the boots don't work but hopefully my new navy ankle boots (still being stretched at the cobblers) would look better.

The blue top is an M&S short sleeved cardigan. Clarks ballet flats.

And a white double layered t-shirt I bought in Australia.

Looking forward to wafting about in the summer. They have unintentionally, and pleasingly, replaced a much loved similar skirt that I only ditched last year that I bought in 1993. Yes 1993! I only got rid of it because it was (unsurprisingly) falling apart.

Those are great @StCharlotte! I love the second two looks especially. Think the blue cardi is my favourite, by a smidgen.

I'm cold again today, or else I would have worn my new printed trousers too!

alphaechokiwi · 20/03/2021 14:17

Lovely culottes @StCharlotte - i think my favourite is with the blue top, but all 3 tops work.

JimmyJabs · 20/03/2021 14:39

I need to get some loose summer trousers like that this year, StCharlotte. I would probably pair them with a plain yellow or pale blue t-shirt and then waft about feeling all holiday-like. I like the blue cardi in the second picture especially.

ParisJeTAime you have enviable legs - I wish I could redistribute some of my thigh weight onto my chest. Are you an apple shape generally?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/03/2021 14:39

I have gone (more) goth today, found this top in the back of my wardrobe, my partner got it for my Christmas gift a few years ago. Wearing with baggy black cargo jeans.

StCharlotte · 20/03/2021 14:42

Thanks. Yes I like them with the blue top best as well. Roll on summer. Even spring would do!

ParisJeTAime · 20/03/2021 17:02

Ah thanks @JimmyJabs! Some days I think I'm an apple and others I think I'm an hourglass. So, I think I'm somewhere between the two.

Measurements last time I took them were something like 47, 38, 48, (chest, waist, hips). I have the hips of an hourglass but the tummy of an apple I think!

Ah like the goth look on you @LivingDeadGirlUK!

Today I have made an effort trouser-wise and put on these Topshop mom jeans. I'll probably change out of them at lunchtime, though, as they're not very conducive to eating anything very much. I accessorised with a bit of spring sunshine on me leg today.

I always feel a bit nervous about wearing these jeans because they are very often the ending to the oft-stated S&B phrase "You have to be a tall skinny teenager to wear..." and I'm none of those things. I hope I'm proving that to be false but there's always the chance that I look like a tragic old mess 😁

JimmyJabs those jeans look really nice - my DD has some mom jeans which I don't think would suit many plus size women, but your jeans look great on you and I wouldn't have known they were mom jeans rather than straight leg jeans. DDs are quite bulky at the top and only work with a tucked in top or cropped top, but yours don't look at all bulky with the top over them.

I worked the weekend and have today off, and sm wearing a skirt for once (with tights and a big jumper) - have been homeschooling dc3 (he was back at school alternate days for two weeks then every day for a week, but our numbers have gone over 100 again which autotriggers homeschooling for all but final exam years here) and will go to the supermarket once his video lesson starts in a few minutes, then pick DD up from her orthodontist appointment, which she's walking to after school finishes at lunch time (she is an exam year so at school atm). DC2 is homeschooling too but more self sufficient. I'll take a picture later as the house is quite busy atm.

Agree, those jeans look great! I don't agree that mom jeans only suit skinny teenagers at all! We have quite a stylish school run and I see them a lot there on women in their 30s and 40s. They look great.

Ah no @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme! Sorry you're having to homeschool again. A reminder this isn't really over yet, sadly.

I've just been for a lovely run in the sunshine! Do you think spring might actually be here this time?! I feel as if it is and am mightily excited!

I'm going to have a Brew, get dressed (into something floral perhaps!!) and will take a pic if I look ok.

Well, we had the vernal equinox on Saturday so it is definitely proper spring now. My ideal weather is spring or autumn sun with a bit of a breeze and not too hot, as I can still wear socks and a jacket but I don't have to layer up too much. It's looking pretty promising so far!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 22/03/2021 11:49

Its still cold and grey here despite it technically being spring according to the calendar - 3 degrees. Spring is going to start here at the end of this week though, according to the weather forecast Grin

alphaechokiwi · 22/03/2021 11:51

Another thumbs up for those jeans from me @JimmyJabs I think they look great on you.
I think it's helpful to get direction and pointers from the S&B board. I've learned loads and I've become more confident with clothes and skincare. But we're all so unique that I find what works or doesn't work for someone rarely translates.
I'm in the garden wearing old jeans and a t-shirt today. Nothing stylish or worthy of a picture!

Satstar · 22/03/2021 12:32

Hi everyone. Have lurked on and off for a while. Does anyone have any tips for a size 24/26 with huge boobs. I mean seriously huge. 40kk cup . Have always been big but now breastfeeding. Often need a 26/28 to fit round my chest. Really stuck in a rut and no idea what to wear. Conscious of my tummy but would love to wear some 'nice' clothes. Anyone else a similar size or shape?
Don't need breastfeeding friendly clothes. As I usually feed at home or in the car. Would never do so in public so doesn't need to be bf friendly x

Satstar · 22/03/2021 12:34

I just want to feel presentable again. I love jessontheplussize on insta and have ordered lots that she wears but struggle with them looking right due to my massive chest!

ParisJeTAime · 22/03/2021 13:16

Welcome @Satstar Smile!

Yes, I remember bfing well and it is a struggle with big boobs! There are some bloggers i think who have bigger boobs. There is one called Curvy Wordy who I like as she is a plus size hourglass.

What sort of shape would you be? More apple or hourglass and are you short / tall / average height? I think Jess on the plus size looks quite petite, but could be wrong! I used to follow her on Instagram too! I closed my account a while ago though. I really liked her page though.

Satstar welcome. I have a couple of size 24/6 dresses from last year (like you I'm bigger on the top than the bottom, but my bra size has never been quite as impressive as yours - 38 G or H at my biggest). I had nice dresses from paper dolls and brands called Linea and Open End ?! I'm not sure how widely available those are. Zizzi also does good quality (100% cotton etc not all synthetic materials) clothes in bigger sizes. I found wrap dresses and v neck tops more flattering, but I am not as fashionable as most on here - I pretty much always wear jeans until the weather is really warm (trying to break out of that rut now!).
Welcome anyway, I know most women lose themselves a bit during the baby and toddler phase!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 22/03/2021 13:35

Wow that's really spring like ParisJeTAime - I like it!

Here's my drab by comparison outfit - but its not jeans therefore still a tiny step out of my usual comfort zone, and I've been out of the house in it!
Snag opaque black tights (not sure what size, there's no label and I bought them at least 2 years ago)
Next "label mix" denim skirt size 14
George at Asda big warm jumper (with hard to spot gold glittery thread) XL
Next long black vest top underneath size 18

I wore my dark burgundy not goth boots when I went out to puck DD up and to the supermarket despite DD saying this would make me look like "one of those people" - she's since elaborated that "those people" are "teenagers who think they're trendy" ShockConfusedGrin She didn't say anything though - I don't think she actually noticed, though she commented on the skirt. She had a big maths test today so understandably was more interested in that!

JimmyJabs · 22/03/2021 13:42

A jumpsuit! I've never even tried one on because I just assumed they would look terrible on me, but I feel inspired by yours @ParisJeTAime. There's not even a hint of cameltoe 🤣

ParisJeTAime · 22/03/2021 13:59

🤣 oh god, the dreaded camel hoof!! Never! This one is a wide leg one I think and I find it long enough in the body. It isn't even a tall length one, but long enough on me and I'm on the tall side.

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme, lovely cosy outfit again! I refuse to buy any more cosy things, but next winter I need some more cosy knits I think. I bet you looked fab in your not goth boots!!

I keep posting the same jumper don't I Blush I only just realised Shock Its been a brilliant buy on a cost per wear basis, given it was only about £20 in the first place Grin I have this one and a similar big light blue one which I've worn loads this very loong winter... They're so warm, and its still freezing here. I often wear one of them to work under my massive snowboard jacket and over a long sleeve t shirt or thin turtle neck, and take it off and leave it in the office while actually working, so it's often only worn for a couple of hours on days I wear it, in my defense!
