I hate buying bras. You have my deepest sympathies. I have bought the same bra for years because I know it fits and I can order online without trying on.

I am now leaning towards buying White Stuff dress. I am also outside the UK and got that long delivery thing, which is making me hesitate a bit.

@ParisJeTAime

X posted! Hello *@IrisW*! Welcome Smile.

I love the tucked in top with the belt and also your shoes. Also have hair envy EnvyWink. Will my hair ever swish? No. The answer is no Grin

@ParisJeTAime thank you, you made my day! Xxx
LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/03/2021 11:33

Excuse the mess, its a day of housework today. These skinny jeans are from F&F size 18, I bought a job lot of size 18 jeans off ebay as my size 16 ones are very snug :*( Then a Machine Head tshirt from EMP and red checked shirt from Primark both size 14.

Hi all!

Well my first two pairs of L&Y trousers arrived today and have gone straight back sadly! They did fit actually and I sort of liked them both, but they just weren't quite right, so back they went. I have two more coming next week, so will see how I get on with those.

Very nice casual outfits^^! I am in jeggings and hoody dress again, as it's cold and I need to do some cleaning and tidying today, so didn't see much need to dress up.

I've been for a good walk with the pushchair, containing large toddler, doing errands in town, so feel like that can be my exercise today!

Have been sitting on my Saturday challenge pics but here goes. The item in question is this jumper but in cream.

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/worcester-swing-jumper/sty-k0305

One picture is with the usual navy trousers ha ha!

Another is with a Principles blazer that I bought a year ago. It still has the labels. I think it might be too big. Either way, I'm unconvinced.

The skirt is a jersey skirt I bought last summer which I've never worn. To be fair that applies to most of my clothes this last year Grin

Seasalt suede shoes.

Mumsnet has also been sitting on my Saturday Challenge! In the hour and a half between me hitting post and the post appearing, I have Sorted. Out. My. Wardrobe. I have been ruthless!

The only sentimental things I've kept are the black sweater I wore on my first date with DH and the rather funky satin trousers I wore on my hen night. They both still fit but they are achingly 1990s Smile God I loved the 1990s...

The thing I need to sort out now is my handbags and weekend bags etc. There are many...

ParisJeTAime · 13/03/2021 18:12

Oh well done @StCharlotte! I am going to go through my loft soon, also for ruthless clear out. I've got some sentimental items, but some of them are just too big to keep for sentimental reasons. Things like coats etc.

I like your cream jumper. Cosy and smart. I love all the looks tbh, but think my favourite might be with the trousers and without the blazer, but they're all good.

I want to join in the style challenge and I have an idea of what I want to try out, so may post later or tomorrow.

StCharlotte · 13/03/2021 18:44

Oh no oh no! I've had a sudden rush of blood to the head and ordered some floaty culottes. Will they go in the skirt section or the trousers section? PANIC!

(To be honest they'll probably go back as I'm not sure I'm a culottes kinda girl.)

ParisJeTAime · 13/03/2021 18:55

Grin @StCharlotte

I love culottes, but don't own any, so will definitely be interested to see how you get on with them!

I also think I've had some sort of crisis as I really want paper bag shorts or cropped trousers for summer!

OP posts:
StCharlotte · 13/03/2021 19:19

Most of my trousers are cropped or ankle grazers apart from a couple of pairs of jeggings. Not terribly practical in [a normal] winter. Hasn't mattered this year as I've mostly been wearing leggings, as you know!

I also ordered a pair of shorts which was optimistic Grin

StCharlotte · 13/03/2021 19:23

(The sooner I get back to the office where I can't have deliveries the better!)

Blyatiful · 13/03/2021 19:34

I ordered some emergency jeans over Christmas when I was stuck in UK, from Simply Be. They are organic cotton and fit perfectly, including having legs that are long enough. They were also quite cheap - around £20 I think.

ParisJeTAime · 13/03/2021 19:51

@Blyatiful, yes, leg length is usually my issue too! Although, funnily enough, the L&Y trousers I tried on today were plenty long enough.

I ordered these jeans and a shirt with big collar, a couple of days ago, just to try on! The jeans are New Look Kind range and the shirt is a cotton one from Vera Moda Curves.

I will report back and post pics depending how they go.

The jeans aren't a shape I've tried before, but I do really like the look of them on other people, so fingers crossed! I did google plus size outfits in the same shape and saw some plus size people looking great in them, so fingers crossed.

So. Having sorted and reorganised my wardrobe including ironing the two blouses I'd forgotten about on the back of the guest room door and the two blouses that had been crushed in the wardrobe, I now have all my clothes to choose from.

Not a clue what to wear today. Sigh.

ParisJeTAime · 15/03/2021 10:55

@StCharlotte, I read your post this morning and was inspired to get on with my ruthless clear out!

Oh good lord, I have a LOT of stuff in storage. My bedroom looks like a scene from that hoarders program today Blush! I have so much stuff to take to the tip. They can recycle clothes there, so all the rubbish stuff which has been worn to death is going there. The good stuff is going for a donation place by post.

I think I'm even going to get rid of my wedding shoes. They weren't expensive. I was a very cheap bride, as I got a secondhand dress and shoes from Next, which was just as well, since our reception venue was really muddy. Don't know why I kept the shoes as they are destroyed! Off they go. Don't try and stop me Grin. I've got the husband as a souvenir. I don't need the shoes too.

Anyway, I'm wearing straight leg jeans (m&s), blue tee over navy tank top, (Hush and Gap). Navy cardi over the top, also from M&S.

OP posts:
StCharlotte · 15/03/2021 11:22

Oh well done you! @ParisJeTAime.

Wedding shoes eh? Blimey, even I'm not that ruthless! Although I can't believe some of the stuff I got rid of on Saturday.

I've got one shelf of stuff that I'm still undecided about and I don't know what to do about bags that never get used but they still (dare I say it) "spark joy" Grin

I am feeling quite virtuous today as I have talked myself out of buying the jumpsuit that Siobhan McSweeney (who has a similar build to me I think) was wearing on The Great Pottery Throwdown last night (did anyone else see it?). Hers was a sort of turquoise/mid blue and it was from Next. When I looked, they only had black or hot pink. I lurrrrve hot pink! Almost as much as I love navy blue but I think it would have been a statement too far, even for me. Also, I'm still not sure how going to the loo would work. So jumpsuits will have to remain a thing for "other people".

Today I'm wearing leggings (yawn) and a pale blue top with white spots and counting down the days when I'm back in the office and can start wearing different clothes (three weeks and counting).

Zebracat · 15/03/2021 14:14

I did the style challenge with pictures on Saturday, and then the whole post disappeared. Love St charlottes jumper outfits. I think the blazer is too big, but still kind of like it. I have trouble knowing when clothes are too big, always so grateful that they haven’t humiliated me! I also watched Throwdown. I loved Siobhans clothes, so good to see a plus size woman on the telly. That jumpsuit was a lovely colour.
I had a grey one during a pregnancy which I loved and wore all the time, then saw myself on tv in the background of a news item, and it was very very bad. There is a gorgeous khaki one in the Me&em sale. I do fit in their size 16s, but then I remember the Nelly the elephant moment...
I like a dress, but think it may be for someone younger and thinner than me. What do people think?

Plus size chat / what are you wearing today sort of thread 2!
ParisJeTAime · 15/03/2021 14:16

Oh that's very Halo of you @StCharlotte! I don't watch that one, but I've read posts on here before from people aspiring to her style.

I have a couple of jumpsuits now. One of them, I can imagine being problematic if there is a big queue for the loos! The other one is stretchy and strappy, so no problem there.

I've got a few things arriving this week to try on. Can't wait for shops to open so that I can try things on in them, instead of all the ordering and returning.

I've parcelled up 3 big bags of nice things for donation. The rest is in massive bin bags for the tip. Looks awful, but at least all my drawers and wardrobe are neat Halo

OP posts:
Zebracat · 15/03/2021 14:17

@ParisJeTAime , if those jeans and that top are well cut, I think you willlook marvellous in them.

ParisJeTAime · 15/03/2021 14:23

Thanks @Zebracat! I'm looking forward to trying the jeans and shirt, but we will see. I've noticed the jeans are lined as it mentions the lining in the material section on the website. If they're lined the whole way down, I don't think I'd like that tbh... If it's just a section, I'm ok with it. So that could be the deciding factor. Lined jeans? Is that a thing?! Apparently it is!

X posted with you there. Sorry about your style challenge pics. Honestly, I was too cold and lazy to get changed three times, so gave up on the idea Blush.

I really like that dress! Definitely think it's ageless and could suit plus size as well as not. Depends on how it hangs in person though.

OP posts:
StCharlotte · 15/03/2021 15:47

I like that dress Zebracat although I know that colour wouldn't suit me but I wouldn't think twice about ordering something in that shape. It might look okay with a t-shirt underneath as well.

Yeah, I'm not that virtuous. I ordered a dress from Monsoon this morning and my punishment was seeing the boots I bought about a month ago at half price in the sale. Bastards.

I'm so chuffed with my newly organised wardrobe. I keep riffling through it. It reminds me of when I was a teenager and I only used to tidy my room about once a quarter - but how lovely and satisfying it was when it was done. My house is generally pretty tidy so my wardrobe is obviously my teenage alter-ego Smile

slug · 15/03/2021 16:02

Today's the first time in I don't know how long that I've dressed up. Well, I put on a bra. Does that count?

The point of my sartorial splendor (Hush trousers, uniqulo T shirt and patterned shirt from TK Max) was to go and have my COVID vaccination. I needed something that gave easy access to my arms.

ParisJeTAime · 15/03/2021 16:22

Hi @slug! Yes, wearing a bra is the height of sophistication in my world currently Grin

How was your vaccination?

@StCharlotte, YY, I feel that way when I clear out my wardrobe. The only problem is the bin bags full of stuff I need to get to the tip, which means booking in!

OP posts:
slug · 15/03/2021 16:25

Vaccination no trouble. My biggest disappointment was no stickers were available. I quite fancied going home on the bus wearing my "I've had my jab" sticker like a child who behaved well at the dentist.
