New Spring Wish Lists

JMAngel1 · 25/02/2021 06:30

I'm putting together a little Spring Wish list and thought it might be fun to see everyone else's.
We could also help each other out by finding what we're lusting after!

Here's my list
A hip length belted jacket - either in a utility or trench style.

A chambray midi skirt with rouching detail or an asymmetric length
Slim denim flares
Lightweight jumpers with very wide open necks that can be worn off one shoulder

Shoes/boots - need inspiration. I have trainers and loads of heeled ankle boots but heels seem very over at the moment.

I am the only one who is being materialistic and putting together a wish list? Grin

As I'm currently pregnant and huge mine is nearly all beauty products...

Either Bareminerals complexion rescue or Erborian BB cream au Ginseng

Becca under eye brightener (so sad Becca is closing)

A really nourishing tinted lip balm with spf and decent colour pay off

A retinol cream for post baby

L'Occitaine or aromatherapy associates shower oil

Decent quality ballet flats...might wait it out till next year when my feet aren't chubby.

TechnoDino · 25/02/2021 19:35

I like your list, especially open neck jumpers.

I want a hip length utility jacket without a belt, possibly a bit boxy but not oversized.

A stretchy jersey skirt in a shape somewhere between tube and A-line. Probably in black but would love spotty animal print or black and white small all over pattern.

A few light coloured tshirts in decent fabric which keeps its shape.

Air and Grace trainers. Or, more realistically given my budget, some other trainers for half the price.

A green midi shirt dress. Again, in a fabric which doesn’t add bulk or make me sweat.

A new handbag. I haven’t used one for a year but I fancy a new one. I like Zara bags.

Jewellery. A gold pendant necklce and am looking out for a vintage sapphire ring.

JMAngel1 · 25/02/2021 19:50

Ooh love both of your lists - now I want a good tinted spf lip balm too. I can vouch for the erborian bb cream but never tried complection rescue.
AA trumps L'Occitane imho.
I can't help feeling ballet flats - I have to have some form of strap as I just walk out of flats.

Love the sound of your stretchy jersey skirt @TechnoDino I find tubes too unforgiving in my tummy, so this hybrid with an a-line style sounds interesting.

There is the danger that my list will grow off the back of this thread Grin

@JMAngel1 thank you that's helpful and narrows down my choice a bit! I know what you mean about ballet flats. What I would really like is some beautiful loafers but I feel I should hold off anything really lovely until I've shrunk back to normal size.

FourTurnings · 25/02/2021 20:48

Heeled ankle boots from Russell and Bromley
New handbag from same place in a nude or pale pink shade
A maxi dress, unstructured or tiered, for summer
Joggers in light grey marl
Tee shirts from Hush

Ponks · 25/02/2021 22:55

I'm on a no/low buy for as long as I can hold out but I'd really love some lighter colours in my wardrobe, having worn the same black jumper for most of the last six months.
Would like:

  • light linen shirt, Arket had some nice ones last year
  • khaki trousers, Hush have some I've got my eye on
  • a jacket I feel good in, no idea what to get, I always go practical and feel frumpy
  • a cream wool roll neck for cooler days
Floisme · 25/02/2021 23:05

I've carried over most of last year's list and it's not spectacular I'm afraid:
Bras
Long sleeved, round (not crew) neck T shirts, cotton or linen, not stuffed with Lycra and not in black, white or navy.
Flat, chunky sandals with good foot coverage. (My feet burn.)
Leather plimsolls (not trainers).

The only things I've removed from last year' list are long sleeved, slightly cropped, boxy shape linen shirts - I'm going to make my own this time so instead I'll be hunting for some good fabric.

Brogues · 26/02/2021 06:42

Sezane Artemis belt or something similar but much cheaper.

I like the idea of a pastel shacket but I’m not sure I’ll get that much use out of it and trying to make more considered purchases.

Flat shoes like loafers or ballet flats.

A big cosy cream cardi.

evtheria · 26/02/2021 08:07
  • Like others, a sort of utility jacket (unbelted). One which I can roll the sleeves up, structured/lined shoulders because I’m small, and not too many bulky pockets!
  • Not a thing but an eyelash lift (also an eyelash growth serum, I’ve never used one)
  • Sporty trainers, but the ones I like don’t come in my size so still looking Sad
  • The Perfect Grey Sweatshirt Ever
  • Some gold rings
  • A ‘loose’ trench, not a slouchy one
CupboardOfJoy · 26/02/2021 08:50

Another one searching for the perfect utility jacket, but I'd prefer mine unbelted, and needs to be the right shade of grey.
I tried a Mint Velvet one the other day but it had too much going on, it was the perfect length, fabric, collar...just one too many pockets and zips, for my taste.
At this time of year I'm always searching for the perfect jacket.

I'd also like some casual trousers that will look good with trainers/ Converse.

JMAngel1 · 26/02/2021 11:14

Utility jackets are tough to find - I also don’t want too many pockets/zips but I do need belted as I’m petite and a boxy look swamps me. I don’t mind it in a blazer but not a utility jacket - not sure why.
I’ve seen a nice khaki faux leather utility shirt jacket with a belt on M&S site but not sure about faux leather - it would be ok for now but wouldn’t work into the tail end of spring/early summer. God I’m picky. Maybe we should be all like @Floisme and make our own - this is definitely on my “one day” list of things I would like to do. I always have a clear idea of what I want but then get frustrated when I can’t find it. To make my own clothes would be amazing.

I'm not buying new clothes this Spring! At least until Easter, but trying to hold off until summertime.

I may be back later with a summer wishlist!

Pigtailsandall · 26/02/2021 11:29

I don't really need much, but I'd love quilted ballerinas from Russell and Bromley. I'm also in need of a cool leather belt for my jeans- I'm thinking black and studded.

Still hunting for the perfect bag. I'd also like a few nice t-shirts, but with a twist of something cool/edgy

Marking. I have another thread on footwear but I am confused.

Haaaa! The reason I'm not buying any, is because I've bought too many! But thank you anyway.

FreshFaceTime · 26/02/2021 12:34

@JMAngel1 just bought a pair of these and they are SUPER comfy. No wearing in. I love them. I am not remotely fashionable though so have no idea if they're acceptable from a trend point of view. I love them though and they're flat! www.timberland.co.uk/shop/en/tbl-uk/womens-magby-low-cheea-dark-brown-tb%3A0a1khw%3Aa66%3A080%3Aw%3A1%3A--11

FreshFaceTime · 26/02/2021 12:40

@Fispi I'm also pregnant, huge and obsessed with beauty products... I have this (SPF15) in the "honey" shade and love it:
www.elizabetharden.co.uk/eight-hour-cream-protectant-lipstick-sheer-tint-balm-spf-15-UK1001070400.html – there are a few different shades.

I also have this: www.esteelauder.co.uk/product/631/61178/product-catalog/makeup/pure-color-envy/color-replenish-lip-balm

It doesn't have SPF but I just use a chapstick or something under it. I also put my suncream on my lips in the morning, which hopefully helps a bit. I really love this one. It's one of those lip balms that is different depending on your lip colour. Mine has even looked different if I've worn a different tinted lip balm that day. The case is gorgeous and it just feels nice to open and apply it. Smells lovely.

I've heard good things about Burts Bees tinted lip balms too but haven't tried them yet (not sure about SPF)

Clinique black honey is another classic lip balm-type thing: www.clinique.co.uk/thewink/cult-classic/black-honey - no SPF but you could always pop a different one under it first?

JMAngel1 · 26/02/2021 13:38

@FreshFaceTime
Those boots are beautiful - very classic.
I tend to edge up my footwear/bags/jeans/leggings and then wear more classic tops/coats/jackets.

I'm thinking of boots a bit like these maybe?

OP posts:
FreshFaceTime · 26/02/2021 13:59

From a practical perspective I'd just get those absolutely filthy on day 1 and they would piss me off forever more, but if you love them and could make them work (and keep them clean –or not mind if they weren't) then go for it!

JMAngel1 · 26/02/2021 18:34

True, I was hoping they would wipe down a bit like trainers. Mmm may have to rethink.

OP posts:
Gleps · 26/02/2021 18:47

Can I please ask what a utility jacket is? I did google it and only shackets came up.

Floisme · 26/02/2021 19:19

It hasn't made me any less picky JMA - it just means I now obsess about fabrics and patterns too which can be just as frustrating sometimes!

I'm a Burts Bees tinted lip balm fan but as far as I know, it doesn't have an SPF.
