SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Sounds amazing Marsha, let us know what the dresses are like.
Will you be teaching at uni @Ellewoods20? Let us know what style you're into. I'm a similar height to you, small & curvy, but like quite boho style which isn't to everyone's taste. My go to for work is probably a midi dress and either ankle boots or sandals depending on the season.

Stokey · 17/07/2021 09:32

On another note, I'm still looking for nice tees if anyone has any recommendations?

Ellewoods20 · 17/07/2021 09:48

I’ll be teaching in a high school Marsha and Stokey. I tend to shop at Zara, H&M, and Ted Baker and have a preppy style

MarshaBradyo · 17/07/2021 13:56

Been a while!

I’ve forgotten how nice the premier delivery is with their branded all black van and dedicated driver 😂

Stokey and Elle will be back with suggestions after beautiful sunshine-y day Smile

Hello all, it’s been while.
Absolutely no fashion news whatsoever but I’m now contemplating packing for my Cornish holiday and a graduation.
Holiday packing:
I’ve restricted myself to a small carry on sized case because I’m only going for a week, but it’s looking pretty full already and will spill into my beach bag. We are self catering with friends, picnics for lunch and eating in for dinner because we can’t be bothered booking restaurants that are probably full now because the whole of th UK will be there too. Also eating in means no designated drivers because we literally are in the middle of nowhere. The weather is looking good so this is what I’m thinking:
1 pair of denim shorts
2 sweatshirts
I pair black satin joggers
1 pair jeans
4 midi dresses
A load of vest tops and little tops
1 pair trainers
1 pair flat gold sandals
2 swimming costumes
2 beach dresses

Sounds like a lot for a week. Hmmmmm

Graduation:
For those of you who know me, I love this sort of dressing up. M wardrobe is literally packed with dresses so I’m going to disappoint you and wear an old fav (since the weather is going to be boiling) that I feel fantastic in but have worn to death from Whistles (midi, wafts, scrappy, clinched in waist)

Sorry, this contains no links or pics, just me waffling......

Have a good day in the sun lovelies xx

DryWhiteagainW · 18/07/2021 09:17

Marsha what’s in the bag?

DryWhiteagainW · 18/07/2021 09:19

“Midi, wafts, SCRAPPY”?!!!! Shock
NEVER

Meant “midi, wafty, strappy” Smile

shopafrolic · 19/07/2021 16:32

How was the dress @MarshaBradyo? Looked good for you…..
Sorry for radio silence Voguettes, need to read back and catch up again. Back from a disastrous week away in the UK. We went with 83 yo DM and 10 yo miniShop - not a good combo as everything he wanted to do she had no energy for. House alarm went off first day so DH had to do a 5 hour round trip to check we hadn’t been burgled. Then DM got a urine infection, and then the wifi - which controlled hearing, hot water, all TV etc went down so we left mid week ask checked into the Grand in Brighton instead. Full refund from home owner who was mortified but gutted as it will likely be our only break this year.
While I’m Brighton we shopped lots, I had a splurge in Whistles and DH in Ted Baker. Will follow this with links…..

sweatshirt

minimal tshirt - this is a great shape @Stokey

broderie puff sleeve tee

Reiss blue linen shirt

striped midi dress the cut of this and the next one around the arms (where you get the puffy bit at your armpit) is super flattering.

shorter in black

I tried really hard to shop for the life I live, not the one I wished I had! Grin

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 19/07/2021 16:45

I also bought this v neck top
And these linen shorts before I went away to dress up with espadrilles or down with Vejas.
The v neck is another great cut, hides the bit by my armpit (anyone else call it the wobbly scallop?) and bra straps don’t show despite the straps being fairly thin. Will probably get in more colours.
I wore it in Brighton with my column jeans and knottie R&B sandals and the shapes felt current.

@DryWhiteagainW can’t wait to see you all dressed up - you’re made for Graduation days, weddings etc…. How lovely to have the excuse

Another scorchio day by the pool very lucky with the weather! After past year has felt heavenly.

This skirt is an excellent but so pleased I got it before it sold out. It really is as description, light silk fluttery and relaxed

Rixo NaP

A few other things I need to link takes ages with emailing stuff first

Shop v nice linen t and shorts

Dry good list

A quick try of the dress and it’s a lot of material, see-through too. Really like the print but think shape might be a bit much for me

Lib are you there?! Is it your birthday today?
Happy Birthday! Smile Cake

shopafrolic · 20/07/2021 08:40

MarshaBradyo · 20/07/2021 09:21

Oh I meant emailing links from App to paste here

It’s not too bad. My bigger issue is mn has gone really small on phone. Mn app looks woeful to my eyes and I can’t even use it. The layout and colours!

Link ability for me and for others is compromised 😂

Could do better on laptop probably

libertyonhertravels · 20/07/2021 09:38

Thanks @MarshaBradyo and @shopafrolic

It is my birthday - uneventful day at work. My team took me out for coffee and cake which was lovely. Came home to flowers, dinner and wine. I am a bit miffed with DH as I sent him the link to buy me this sweater several weeks ago and I warned him it would sell out in my size and he left it too late I fucking despair

Anyway Voguettes the moral of the story is if you like it just get it!!

shop GREAT haul - feels like ages since anyone here just splurged. I can see you in all of them, especially the dresses and well done on shopping for the life you live.

marsha beautiful Rixo skirt. Did you get a dress?

dry good packing but I think 2 midis might be enough and maybe another pair of shorts?

limesoda · 20/07/2021 09:49

@libertyonhertravels happy birthday! So annoying about the sweater, a lesson to us all.

@shopafrolic LOVE the haul. Whistles is really working for me at the minute. Not sure the quality matches some of the prices, but the cuts just work so well for me.

I broke my ankle on a walking holiday last week in three places, so I am all over the dress as they are easier to navigate with crutches and casts and things. this dress arrived before we went away and I wasn't sure but I'm keeping now because it suits me, it's good in the sun and it has cheered me up. Might save any other shopping till I'm off the morphine 😂 Also aware shape might change with not being able to move and stuff, so might live vicariously through you lot

libertyonhertravels · 20/07/2021 10:30

Really sorry to hear about your ankle @limesoda Sad I hope you recover quickly. The dress is lovely.

MarshaBradyo · 20/07/2021 10:31

Limesoda oh no! What a big thing to happen! Lovely dress though

Shop just realised it wasn’t just short and top thought rest were suggestions for Stokey it all looks great for you

shopafrolic · 20/07/2021 13:49

Was worried for a bit @MarshaBradyo Grin
@libertyonhertravels I’d be gutted about the sweater - how frustrating
@limesoda you poor thing! I winced as I read that - hope it’s not too painful

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 20/07/2021 13:55

Agree @limesoda about Whistles at the moment - the cuts are great. The SA have me 20% off instore. Apparently the brand owner lives around Brighton and regularly visits the store for customer feedback on fabric and cut.
I tried in an amazing cobalt blue sundress - perfect colour but too much fabric. this one
