SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Oh gosh. I've been a bit absent from this thread, but am catching up. These are gorgeous. Now I want them, but cannot. I have purchased 6-7 pairs of shoes in the past 2 months. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything else but ended up buying this dress today on impulse https://uk.maje.com/en/ready-to-wear/collection/dresses/221rapsodia/MFPRO01794.html

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 17/06/2021 21:41

Oh and congratulations @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping that's exciting news!

Dreamqueen · 18/06/2021 07:19

Congratulations Blair that is the best news.

Themarvellousmrsm · 18/06/2021 08:43

Congratulations @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping that's lovely news. I look forward to some maternity based fashion in the coming months.

I finally got back into London to meet up with friends a few days ago, was soooo nice catching up with cocktails in the sun. Yes, I did wear the ubiquitous midi dress (Great Plains) with white A&G's

Also purchased a blouse with huge puffed sleeves in Anthropology, will link later.

@DryWhiteagainW I totally get the linen shift dress dilemma-so cool in the heat but does feel a bit dated atm along with a peasant top I put on the other day and then spent the rest of the day wishing I hadn't!

shopafrolic · 18/06/2021 09:21

Just popped in and read @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping lovely news - congratulations! How exciting :)

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping that is wonderful news. So pleased for you Flowers

MissKittyKitty · 18/06/2021 20:16

Such wonderful news @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping a Christmas baby.

VivaVegas · 20/06/2021 09:25

Congratulations Blair fabulous news!

CarolineBingley · 20/06/2021 11:05

Many congratulations @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping! Wishing all the Voguette dads happy Father's Day, especially MrBlairSmile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/06/2021 17:28

Thanks everyone Smile had my first scan this week and all looks good. Major fashion related problem at the moment is what I’ll wear to 2 weddings I’m going to in august, as the dress I bought in January definitely won’t fit!

Hope everyone’s had a lovely Sunday/Father’s Day Flowers

Stokey · 20/06/2021 20:24

Have you looked at Seraphine @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping? They used to do nice maternity wear back when I was pregnant. You can normally find some bargains on eBay too

maradesbois · 21/06/2021 22:13

Hey Voguettes,

I came back on here this afternoon after weeks even months of absence not expecting much news but WOW, lovely newbies, a new baby Blair and a wedding! @QueenCremant inviting myself and will wear the beautiful Oscar de la Renta dress you linked for me a few pages back. Not a brand I’d normally look at, makes me think of old NY ladies who lunch but this is me to a T!

Massive congratulations to you and dh @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping , so exciting! Mat wear seems less of a thing these days so no idea but can picture you in some kind of shirt dress glammed up with heels and accessories.

I feel like I’m coming out of the other side of the lockdown style rut. Am still not really shopping but rediscovering my summer dresses from 2 years ago. Like @CarolineBingley I recently had an I’m back’ moment, went outout wearing this floral wrap dress with black satin backless mules. One difference is that I’m barely bothering with makeup anymore, could be kidding myself but think my skin actually looks better for it.

I’d love us to keep the thread going and look forward to getting to know newcomers. Fwiw I think that Vogue is a beautiful word, just looks so nice on the page and would be a shame to lose it.

QueenCremant · 21/06/2021 22:29

Congratulations @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping, such lovely news.
@maradesbois, sadly the wedding isn’t real. Mr cremant says he won’t marry again. Although I’ve asked if one day I can just have a sparkly ring, a new dress and a party Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 21/06/2021 22:29

so great to see you again.

Blair many many congrats, so happy for you xxxxx (I was too late for the silk vest.)

And have I missed a wedding announcement?!!!! Shock

Bloody freezing up north. I was chilly in my safety dress today......fleece dressing gown firmly back on Angry

maradesbois · 22/06/2021 08:54

@QueenCremant your wedding may only be as real as my ownership of the OdlR dress but am loving the fantasy shopping. Also think that jewellery/new dress/party sounds like a good plan!

@JaneJeffer great tip for @Stokey with the fairy liquid. I’ve just dyed a white wash pale blue due to a rogue navy item including my beloved frill collar shirt. Currently have stuff soaking in astonish stain remover but doesn’t seem to be doing anything. Do you have suggestions?

@DryWhiteagainW big hugs back xx. Not sure what ‘safety dress’ is supposed to be but am now picturing you in the Liz Hurley Versace safety pin number from the ‘90s - with dressing gown over it Grin

JaneJeffer · 22/06/2021 13:56

Oh no @maradesbois! You used to be able to buy colour run remover but the last time I went looking for it after a stripy T-shirt disaster I couldn't find it in any shop here. It seems to be available on Amazon though.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/06/2021 15:38

Thank you @maradesbois @QueenCremant and @DryWhiteagainW!

Lovely to "see" you again mara and what a beautiful dress. I once stained a white t-shirt with khaki denim :( and I was so gutted but next time I washed it it came straight back out... so maybe another wash would help? Or sunlight?

Stokey good shout, I just had a look at Seraphine and there are some nice things, I've set up some ebay alerts as I am too cheap to pay full price. I had a couple of things from them in my first pregnancy too, I didn't need any occasion wear then though! And I'll only be ~5 months so not huge... wondering if I can get away with a non-maternity dress.

queenc so happy for you and mrcremant, even if there isn't going to be a wedding (boo!)

shopafrolic · 22/06/2021 19:29

Yay! Welcome back @maradesbois Smile

Popping in with a quick question - where do you sell clothes nowadays? Do you still use EBay? Have lots to sell but not sure what people use anymore…..

OP posts:
libertyonhertravels · 23/06/2021 10:52

Great to see you back here @maradesbois Smile I gasped in horror at that gorgeous shirt getting colour run. Have you managed to rescue it?

No idea @shopafrolic on where to sell second hand clothes.

I bought these trousers today. Really good quality and fit and extra 25% off the sale price so no guilt (I'm supposed to not be spending as we have lots of house bills looming). It's mid winter here and the weather has been awful, days dark and covid might be back in NZ so I needed a shopping hit (so good at enabling myself).

DryWhiteagainW · 23/06/2021 22:28

Ahhhh Mara I think “safety” was a ftpo. Meant “wafty” I think, although the thought of me in that safety pin Versace dress makes me shudder.......Shock

DryWhiteagainW · 23/06/2021 22:29

A “ftpo” Grin ....I rest My case....bloody electronic devices....bring on a MU when I can actually talk some sense

Stokey · 24/06/2021 08:25

Dry a ftpo needs to come into usage 🤣

Shop I'd probably use eBay. Tbh I just gave loads of the DDs clothes to my childminder as couldn't be bothered with the hassle of selling it all.

I've got a Rixo dress BNWT that is too big that I keep meaning to try on there and did successfully sell Dd2s bike recently.

Do you have any local FB groups? We have a sell or swap group which is good too.

limesoda · 25/06/2021 09:36

@shopafrolic I just use eBay TBH. I'm really unsure of the worth of clothes (and they are only worth what people want to pay) so I start with 99p bids. Branded stuff sells brilliantly, I bought a load of hush stuff when I was still in a style rut that just did not suit me/fit me/work all that well for my life and got staggering amounts of money.

limesoda · 25/06/2021 10:40

And now I've read the whole thread and realised I'd missed @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping fab news!

LoveFromDeauville · 25/06/2021 16:42

Oh such lovely news @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping Flowers

All well in my world. Have taken the past week off work - no vacation till August but have done lots of pottering, pool, beach and had a glorious day to myself when I did quite a bit damage in Tory Burch Smile

Hope everyone well. @libertyonhertravels weather has indeed been awful in NZ as my SIL has been updating me. Hope you and family are well and settling into your new home/fresh start.
