SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Snorted at Nana M Dream funny , and Stokey centre parting but not able to get into skinnies too.....

Mara I love your hair...sod centre partings. I look a tool with a centre parting.

So....lockdown has effected me in an unexpected way. I have embraced leisure wear in particular the elastic aged waist variety Shock ... (I will never give up emojis or start using a skull).....

I used to be a dress and heels woman, now I’m Waynetta and the hair is nearly going the same way ...so long!

Anyway these arrived today.......hold on I’ve forgotten how to add a link

DryWhiteagainW · 23/02/2021 22:22

these granny? I love them and so many match match possibilities Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 23/02/2021 22:25

Ignore the link these but in black, more pastel colours in the stripes

QueenCremant · 23/02/2021 22:31

dry as Waynetta Shock.

shop I booked a summer holiday a couple of weeks ago, just to wales (Cornwall and Devon all booked up!) with kids and parents. It’s got a money back guarantee if we can’t go due to lockdown.

I optimistically have European flights booked for October....

MissKittyKitty · 24/02/2021 08:43

@DryWhiteagainW I was looking at those as I too like Baukjen for lounge wear and slouchy jersey tops. In fact I'm about to order a top from there. I've been dithering for ages I don't know why. Will link later.

Stokey · 24/02/2021 09:11

We are all Waynetta Dry!

Love the black Baukjen ones.

On summer holidays, I haven't booked yet but am browsing SC in Greece for August, lots already booked up and don't want to go too late as Dd1 starts secondary this year so need to have some time to prepare.

I think we'll all be vaccinated (but the kids but assume they'll let them travel with tests?) & Greece look like they're trying to sort out a travel corridor. I don't know if France will be as easy as they seem determined to make our lives difficult!

Am also wondering if a cheeky May half term break is feasible and thinking of going UK seaside for 2nd week in April. Can you hear how desperate I am to get away!!

QueenCremant · 24/02/2021 10:54

It’s a balmy 13 degrees today. For a minute I thought about getting my summer clothes out and packing away jumpers. And then reminded myself that it’s only February 😂.

shopafrolic · 24/02/2021 21:52

This makes me excited to wear lipstick again

Dry I love those. Very tempted but I'm in the middle of trying to lose my lockdown lbs. Not buying any clothes until I shift some.

Inspired by another thread, I'm considering buying this gel nail kit Do any of you do your own nails? Slightly worried that it'll be a one time wonder & sit on a shelf, gathering dust.

Dreamqueen · 25/02/2021 09:31

Another question. I would like some new white trainers but have no idea what brand is in style at the moment. Any ideas please? Budget is 100-25. Thanks.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2021 09:48

@DryWhiteagainW I can’t imagine you with long hair!

@MissKittyKitty here you go 💀💀💀 I think it means you died laughing!

@Dreamqueen I would still say vejas or common projects. My sister does her own gel nails and the brand she uses is Mylee.

No holidays booked here. Hoping to get away to my in laws place in France but I agree with you @Stokey, who knows whether they will let us in!

shopafrolic · 25/02/2021 17:15

@Dreamqueen for that budget I’d go Veja, classic Stan Smiths (never go out of fashion) or try for some Zadig in the sale.
I am a convert to Veja now I know how to soften them up but they take a while.

OP posts:
QueenCremant · 25/02/2021 17:36

dream I recently bought some air and grace flatform ones. Have only tried them on so far and not worn them (it’s been far too wet/muddy) and they are soooo comfy.

maradesbois · 25/02/2021 19:29

@Dreamqueen I’d say either Adidas continental or Reebok classic if you want to be a white trainer purist. I tend not to go for pure white but think Reeboks are both in fashion and beyond fashion as you see them on everyone from teenagers to grandmas (disclaimer from a side parted 😂 overuser). I have Reebok club C which are off white and have tortoiseshell sole.

Also second @shopafrolic for veja, have some in my nap basket currently as got a
10% off code, can dm it to you if you want.

Dreamqueen · 26/02/2021 07:53

Thank you for all the trainer ideas. I'm off to do some browsing. Mara thank you for the offer of the code.

BlairMylee is the set that I've got my eye on. It's £90 for the kit. Not sure why I want it though. I only wear polish on my fingers when going on holiday. I'm thinking it might up my S&B game or on the other hand it could end up a white elephant.

MissKittyKitty · 26/02/2021 08:10

Great trainer suggestions there Dream I'm a sucker for Adidas Sleek they have a retro vibe about them.

Adidas Sleek for bargainous price as long as your feet are size 6 or less

MarshaBradyo · 26/02/2021 10:11

Hello! Just marking place so I can come back for a leisurely Spring read

So pleased to see you all here on this lovely day

shopafrolic · 26/02/2021 15:02

Like the Sleeks @MissKittyKitty I haven’t seen those before.
What a beautiful day. We’ve had some good news today chez Shop - can’t go into any details but a huge relief after a massive period of uncertainty so the champagne is on ice for this evening. I just felt so gutted not to be able to go out and properly celebrate. We’re going to order in from our local Giggling Squid so at least I don’t have to cook. Smile
What’s everyone thinking about buying as we head into Spring? Any wardrobe gaps.
I still need new jeans (2 years I think now!), and some basic tees - any favourite t-shirt brands out there worth looking at?
Need to inject some brights into the wardrobe. If any one spots a neon pink sweatshirt on their browsing please let me know.

Pigtailsandall · 26/02/2021 15:10

@shopafrolic when I was looking for sweatshirts I was directed towards Scamp and Dude, which has an abundance of luridly-coloured sweatshirts. They looked lovely, but just not for me.

Sezane has a few lovely t-shirts with nice detailing but I'm trying to come to terms with a £55/£60 price tag

MissKittyKitty · 26/02/2021 15:25

Such a glorious day. I've hung my washing on the line. Rock n roll Grin

@shopafrolic glad you've got some good news. Enjoy your celebration.
I too am looking for a bright, more fuschia than neon, pink sweatshirt and have been looking for a while. I already have the perfect one, although it's starting to fade through constant wear, from JCrew but they're not delivering internationally at the moment. All the ones I seen are pastel pink which looks dreadful on me.

I've been buying my tee shirts from Toast for the last few year. Great colours and they don't lose shape, fade or look like a dish cloth after one wash - I'm looking you Hush.

@Pigtailsandall thanks for the sweatshirt recommendation. I'll take a look.

Hi @MarshaBradyo

I went to Costco yesterday and it felt like a big day out. Oh dear I need to get out more. Hmm

QueenCremant · 26/02/2021 15:58

It is indeed a lovely spring day.
Really like those sleeks kitty and mara, those tortoishell reeboks are lush. Would look rubbish on me but really love the unusualness about them.

shop I have a few things I’ve seen in the past couple of days-a blouse and 2 dresses-but need to work out whether I really need them....

shopafrolic · 26/02/2021 16:08

Thanks @Pigtailsandall funnily enough I have just ordered their cobalt blue hoodie and cobalt blue printed joggers! Stupidly I didn't think to look for sweatshirts
@MissKittyKitty Love the first day of hanging the watching out - feels momentous. Let me know if you find the perfect colour - I need bright too, no pastels here. And yes to hush t-shirts being rubbish, shame as they start off great. I'm wondering about American Vintage again but they used to get holes......
I just treated myself I've been lusting after it for about a year and with the money I saved this month I can afford it so YAY! Love a bit of chunky silver jewellery.

Beautiful day!

DH and I have the day off today as this morning was my grandad’s funeral. He died in mid January from (essentially) old age (91) so as good a way to go as any. We had a church service which was lovely and apparently he’d basically planned it himself Smile it was limited to 30 people but that was enough for the 3 generations leaving out the great grandchildren who are too little. It was really odd/nice to see the whole family together and be able to catch up after. I wore heels for the first time in ages and regretted it!

shop enjoy your celebration, not that we need much of an excuse these days to break out the fizz or order a tasty meal, very happy you had some good news though Smile

All I want to wear atm is sweatshirts/leggings/trainers but not sure whether to buy more... I’ll keep an eye out for fuchsia pink and neon pink!

shopafrolic · 26/02/2021 16:43

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping 91 is a great age Smile. How nice that the sun shone for his farewell. I am sorry for your loss.

OP posts:
Stokey · 26/02/2021 17:08

Sorry about your Grandad Blair but sounds like a lovely occasion - I hear you about heels! So hard to imagine anything but boots. Great trainer recommends though from Kitty & Mara, I particularly love the tortoiseshell Reebok's.

Shop I've got into American Vintage long sleeved tees over the winter and so far so good. I've also got some Boden ones from a couple of years back which have stood the test of time. My J Crew ones on the other hand, are lovely and soft but seem to get holes instantly.

Love the chunky bracelet too.

I can't quite imagine wearing anything other than slob clothes at the moment, so need to get round that before investing in anything new. I think I still need some basic jeans too but am stuck on shape.
