Tropic

Have just been recommended the Tropic concealer for my crepey under eye area.

The whole range looks gorgeous, I'd never heard of it before.

Anyone used Tropic ?

I’ve never used the make-up, but I’m a big fan of their skincare products. I’m 57 and my skin texture has definitely improved. That may be because I’m taking more care of it by using the products - I don’t know, but they feel and smell amazing.
(You’ll get people telling you it’s a MLM selling site and you should avoid though.)

BaconAndAvocado · 24/01/2021 10:31

3catsandcounting which products do you use?

I like the look of the Skin Feast and omega elixir.

And whats an MLM?

MLM is multi-level marketing (or Pyramid scheme) and is especially frowned on within MN. My local rep sells as a sideline, she knows I’m not interested in ‘at home’ parties and knows I don’t want to be recruited. It’s never mentioned, she just supplies the goods to me. You can also just buy online direct from the company. Avon, Bodyshop, and laterally Tupperware etc are/were MLMs.

Anyway, I use the ABC skincare collection. It cost £100, but includes the smoothing cleanser, bamboo facecloth, pore-refining mist. Skin feast, a pot of face mask, skin serum and (my favourite) Skin Dream night cream, in a nice travel bag. (you get to choose which face mask and serum you’d prefer) It’s a huge saving compared to buying separately.
The elixir is lovely, as are most of the products. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the Super Greens serum, only because it smells of curry!

SummaLuvin · 24/01/2021 11:41

I wouldn't buy from them, as mentioned by PP they are MLM, I personally object to these as I think they are immoral and exploitative. I encourage you to look into this yourself and make a decision on whether you are comfortable with it, as you would with animal testing and general companies ethics.

BlueSussex · 24/01/2021 11:43

I absolutely love it. It's really not an MLM but you know how rabid some MNetters get Confused I bet they all have bloody Tupperware!! My Rep just sells it on the side as she gets a 25% discount that way which is handy when you have 5 adult DDs and everyone loves the products.

The Tamanu balm is probably my favourite product. It will heal up any spots/dry patches/weird nonsense that happens. The Fruit Peel serum mask is brilliant and I also love the tanning drops. I don't use their range exclusively, I have a huge hoard of other brands, but I like the fact it is completely natural with no horrible chemicals and no cruelty to animals etc.

As PP have pointed out, if you buy a bundle it saves you £££

Ramblingwords · 24/01/2021 12:30

I buy it direct from the website. They have a great range for oily skin (Clear Skies powder in particular) that really improves my skin. I use some of these products alongside The Ordinary.

Bubbles1st · 24/01/2021 12:50

Lovely products. Their skincare is great and my favourite product is so basic the body pebble. I've only recently extended into their make up however I haven't been disappointed. The ambassador I buy from is nice and not at all in your face which I have seen some do and I think it gives them a bad rep.

Not MLM - social selling. Look up the difference.

Pancakeorcrepe · 24/01/2021 15:52

I love their ethics, they are cruelty free and leaping bunny certified.
The Tamanu balm is the only thing that helps with my chapped lips without making them peel more. And I’ve tried lots of stuff, including very expensive brands!
I also use the smoothing cream for my upper arms to deal with bumps and uneven texture.

FrankieDoyle · 25/01/2021 06:51

I was given the Tropic Superfood Hand Therapy cream as part of a gift set for Christmas...the hand cream is lovely. My dry hands are significantly softer since using regularly and it smells divine.

Nancylovesthecock · 25/01/2021 07:01

Omg finally people who like tropic in here!

It's bloody lovely stuff, lasts forever and has cleared up my cystic acne. I couldn't believe it!

I use the ABC collection with hydrating mask along side pure lagoon and fruit peel syrums for the acne and super greens facial oil for healing and fading old scaring.

It lasts forever too so initially prices but the products last a long time. A little bit goes a long long way!

PuggyMum · 27/01/2021 10:33

I converted to Tropic about 3 years ago. I didn't have the time to look into being an ambassador / consultant but a couple of my friends signed up so I bought through them.
They both let their accounts lapse so I signed up in lockdown.
I try really hard to not annoy people but the products really are fab.
Literally a case of what's not to love!

BentleyBelly · 27/01/2021 11:05

Another huge fan here....clear skies cleanser and pure lagoon serum has really sorted out my 'maskne'. The superfood hand cream is amazing, first winter in forever I don't have chapped hands. One of the school mums is an ambassador and the first time I bought it I was only being polite....she set up in the corner at a toddler group about this time last year and i had a nosy, never really strayed far from E45 and supermarket toiletries before. I'm a complete convert now.

BaconAndAvocado · 02/02/2021 19:38

My products arrived a couple of days ago and I’m loving the Skin Feast and Omega oil. I mix them together morning and night and massage to my heart’s content!
My skin feels deeply moisturised.

I’m not quite so impressed with the concealer but I have very dark under eye circles and I’ve yet to find a concealer that covers them completely.

A bit less

Great to hear! Did you go for the cream concealer in a pan?

The concealer I ordered is in a tube with a lip gloss type applicator.
I really need to use a colour corrector to cover my very dark shadows but when I've tried in the past, my under eye area ends up looking really caked and crepey.

Bubbles1st · 03/02/2021 13:40

@BaconAndAvocado
Sounds like you might have illumina, this is actually going to act as a highlighter so will only
Emphasise your dark circles unfortunately. They have a money back guarantee so you could always swap it for the cream concealer, should give you better coverage for that.

ImnotCarolineHirons · 03/02/2021 14:13

Yup I like them, I've researched them for my work (writer) and they are very different from typical US Mormon owned hard selling high recruiting MLM.

They are U.K. based, owned and run by a woman, very ethical ideals and high standard of ingredients. Most reps are not pushy at all (although a few that have joined in lockdown need some training!). Heard good results about skincare especially for those with sensitive skin and acne.

BaconAndAvocado · 03/02/2021 16:05

Oh no!
I obviously didn't read the gumf properly!!!

strongandenduringfriendships · 03/02/2021 17:42

I use the deodorant, smells divine and works really well, but oh the price, I can't justify buying it again.

Bubbles1st · 03/02/2021 17:45

@strongandenduringfriendships yes but how long does it last you? I thought the same but the results and that it lasts me 3 months at least makes it worth while.

Gingefringe · 03/02/2021 19:04

Their soaps (called pebbles) are amazing - very creamy and lather beautifully. I also love their bamboo face cloths which I use with my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I buy direct from their website - they're cruelty free and donations go towards funding a school. The founder was on the Apprentice.

I've used various products over the last couple of years and have never been disappointed.

It is an MLM. You can sell to people direct or you can build a team and take a cut of what those in your team purchase to sell. It is more lucrative to build a team of people selling product under you than it is to sell as an individual. If you can create downlines it’s MLM.

Social selling is just another word for MLM.

@YouokHun
I disagree and I would take the time to know the difference- their is plenty of reputable sources online to help you.
