On these forehead lines?

Would you get botox?

Mum2jenny · 23/01/2021 19:59

No

Suzi888 · 23/01/2021 20:01

Depends, how old are you and how much does it bother you.

OldWomanSaysThis · 23/01/2021 20:01

No! I am still sick from Botox years later. It's not worth the toxin spreading systemically which is way more common than people realize.

Botoxtime · 23/01/2021 20:03

I'm 30s and have the money to pay as needed. My face has started to age quickly.

HarrietSchulenberg · 23/01/2021 20:05

No. You'll only have to shell out again a few months and it's not worth it for looking like half your head is frozen. Just ramp up the moisturizer if it bothers you.

rhowton · 23/01/2021 20:09

Yes, I love it! I look so much better and fresher!

Anotheruser02 · 23/01/2021 20:11

No.

SacreBleeeurgh · 23/01/2021 20:13

I would have Botox if I felt I needed/wanted it, though I’ve got to say I think your skin looks really quite dehydrated (not necessarily dry, there’s definitely a difference) and I reckon with some tweaking to your routine you could improve their appearance - so, for example, a hyaluronic acid followed by moisturiser followed by an oil at night, plus whatever actives you feel you need. Doesn’t need to be expensive stuff, and won’t get rid of them completely, but could def improve their appearance.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 23/01/2021 20:13

Probably not. I'm the same age, here's mine. They look worse than yours. I've never really thought about them.
Also don't think I could take needles stuck in my face. I would need to be really desperate.

Would you get botox?
SimplyRadishing · 23/01/2021 20:13

Honestly, Yes i would as it would annoy me and i'd find it prematurely aging
Just dont go OTT.

I have tmj issues and get my jaw and temples done every 6-9 months (its more medical than aesthetic but still...)

Botoxtime · 23/01/2021 20:14

I've had a hyaluronic acid facial where the inject you and that helps but I'm thinking longer term. I look rough.

How about trying collagen face creams or supplements?

Blondiney · 23/01/2021 20:23

Tretinoin cream should take care of that.

ofwarren · 23/01/2021 20:25

@OldWomanSaysThis I've never heard of that! I'm sorry it's caused you issues.
What does it do to you if you don't mind me asking?

Botoxtime · 23/01/2021 20:25

What's tretinoin?

OP posts:
ShirleyPhallus · 23/01/2021 20:26

Yes I would. But also don’t underestimate a good pair of eyebrows and a brightening cream for a generally fresher look

Interested to hear from @OldWomanSaysThis about the Botox poison though, I haven’t ever heard of this?

LunaTheCat · 23/01/2021 20:28

Botox paralyses the muscles.
If the muscles aren’t working they become weaker.
I think in the future there will be lots of women in their 60’s who started botox in their 30’s looking a lot more aged as their facial muscles have been permanently paralysed.
Botox hasn’t been around for that long.

3JsMa · 23/01/2021 20:32

No for many reasons (toxins injected, complications, has to be repeated etc).

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 23/01/2021 20:36

Botox won't remove the lines, just prevent more from appearing.

Try a good quality prescription strength retinol. Tretinoin for example

Catcrazy008 · 23/01/2021 20:37

@OldWomanSaysThis what effects did/do you have from botox?

OldWomanSaysThis · 23/01/2021 20:39

I'm in the states and Botox has a Blank Box Warning. The warning was added after the drug had been on the market due to a lawsuit in Oklahoma.

The drug maker is lucky in that there is no test for botulism, so they deny people actually get botulism from Botox, but that is what the Black Box Warning states can happen - because it's true. There is a botulism antidote, but not readily available in the US. (It is available in China as they have studied this more.)

The symptoms list is long and scary. There is a Botox Side Effects support group on Facebook.

Also, not widely known, is Botox actually ages you faster over the long run (as does filler). It's just not worth it. I would never tell anyone not to do it though. I did it successfully several times before the time it went systemic. It was awesome for my wrinkles! I looked so much better. I get it. I do.

Selfishly, the more people who do it, the more people that will get sick and at some point it will be taken off the market.

Let me just say, if you have autoimmune type symptoms or random symptoms that can't be explained because test after test comes back normal - and you do Botox - just consider your side effects may be caused by Botox.

MiladyBerserko · 23/01/2021 20:40

No, it looks false and expressionless. Expressing yourself is part of the overall beauty of a person.

OldWomanSaysThis · 23/01/2021 20:40

See... I wrote Blank Box Warning above instead of Black Box Warning. Vision issues, cognitive issue, fine motor skills in my fingers (typing) - all related to Botox.
