Would you get botox?

On these forehead lines?

Would you get botox?
OP posts:
FelicityWhiskers · 23/01/2021 20:46

@sabrinathemiddleagewitch Botox does indeed remove lines and will easily remove the ones the OP has.

Whether she goes for it is her decision but it's not correct to say Botox doesn't remove forehead lines - it's the very purpose of it

MorrisZapp · 23/01/2021 20:51

I have it in between my eyebrows to stop my mega crease from getting worse. Absolutely love it. I've been getting it for a few years now. No cream on earth will relax my forehead and stop me looking angry all the time.

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 23/01/2021 20:54

@FelicityWhiskers

I've had it for this exact reason.

It stopped me moving my forehead so yes the skin did not fold into lines when you express your face to make them deeper or appear when you're talking.

However the marks in your skin when your face is not moving, it cannot remove as that is impossible of Botox.

How exact would a muscle relaxer remove indents in skin?

wewillmeetagain · 23/01/2021 20:57

Yes, it will prevent them getting worse. I started having it done at 42 and wish I'd started earlier.

takingwhatineed · 23/01/2021 21:00

I don't think a little bit would be a problem. Go for it

iftherewereahorseyinthehouse · 23/01/2021 21:06

100%. Mine are much worse, when I was young and pretty I laughed in the face of cosmetic procedures. Now I'm totally there as soon as it reopens 😖

FelicityWhiskers · 23/01/2021 21:56

@sabrinathemiddleagewitch I think you had the Botox administered incorrectly in that case!

lazylinguist · 23/01/2021 22:11

No. I wouldn't get Botox full stop.

MindBodyChocolate · 23/01/2021 23:30

No. They’re not that bad and I’d be more concerned about the long term effects of starting it in your 30s. This isn’t a facetious comment but would a fringe suit you? You won’t be showing your forehead all the time and can direct attention to other parts of your face.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/01/2021 23:58

No way everyone has those.

gail0810 · 24/01/2021 00:03

Absolutely not. You can so tell if someone has.

sofiaaaaaa · 24/01/2021 00:05

What’s the shadow above your brows? Looks like involuntary frowning or a slight furrowed eyebrow, which Botox could also assist with if you’re interested

I genuinely don’t know what I’d do if I were you, I think it would depend on how noticeable the lines are from a distance and how much it overall impacts your appearance. I think your lines are faint and I probably wouldn’t notice them.

Seventytwo · 24/01/2021 00:07

No, I wouldn’t touch the stuff. Not going to risk my health for the sake of a few (perfectly normal) wrinkles. I can sort of see why people are tempted if they have very bad premature wrinkles (I don’t think you do, OP) but I think it’s a very extreme length to go to.

sofiaaaaaa · 24/01/2021 00:09

I have had Botox a few times (medical reasons not cosmetic) and suffered with zero side effects. I wouldn’t consider Botox “risking my health” at all.

Chelyanne · 24/01/2021 00:11

Nope...
Nothing wrong with wisdom lines

😶 🙏 Let's hope they open soon🤞

A nice little read...

Grumpasaurus · 24/01/2021 00:38

Yup

I get it for migraines but look so much younger as a result.

And fresher.

No side effects at all.

Quick and painless and I still can express myself

Totally erased my railroad tracks and 11s

Grumpasaurus · 24/01/2021 00:38

PS I also follow a very good skin scare routine

Onesailwait · 24/01/2021 00:39

If it bothers you then go for it. Ask around for recommendations. I get a light touch up regularly. My face still moves as it did before, it just makes me look refreshed.

Yohoheaveho · 24/01/2021 00:41
Goodness me it looks so scholarly and scientific with the lurid needle + green poison dripping out of it⚕️
cbt944 · 24/01/2021 00:43

Yes, teeheehee!

“• Spread of toxin effects. In some cases, the effect of botulinum toxin may affect areas of the body away from the injection site and cause symptoms of a serious condition called botulism.
The symptoms of BOTULISM include:
o loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body
o double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids
o hoarseness or change or loss of voice (dysphonia)
o trouble saying words clearly (dysarthria)
o loss of bladder control
o trouble breathing
o trouble swallowing

These symptoms can happen hours, days, to weeks after you receive an injection of BOTOX or BOTOXCosmetic.”

Elmo311 · 24/01/2021 00:49

Absolutely

QueenPawPaws · 24/01/2021 00:53

Possibly. I've had Botox before but for the past year I've been using prescription tret from skin and me, the lines have softened so much from that
So I would first go hydration and tret and then see

QueenPawPaws · 24/01/2021 00:56

Pics
First are before and after Botox
Second is forehead now (no Botox for over a year, and using tret for the last 12 months)
