How many pairs of earrings do you own?

I’m looking to streamline my collection, if you have pierced ears would be interested to know how many you own!

I have 8 earring that never leave - my Maria Tash obsession is forever itching.

dozens and dozens and dozens.

and you can always send your spares my way Grin

I love earring, and I have loads - long/short/silver/ sparkly/ costume etc

no precious ones, no gold!

Too many to count, without setting time aside for the task must be over 100 at least - mostly silver, a couple gold, some costume wood & glass/plastic from the 90s and 00s, rustic dangly ones, loads of 80s hoops, cubic zirconia, some studs from the 80s when I got my my ears pierced that I can’t wear anymore as the posts are too thick - 3 piercings each ear, the holes narrowed to the diameter of the more recently worn post but have never healed over. There was a time when if I forgot to put my earrings in it would ruin the whole day! I once had to go and buy a pair when I realised my ears were unadorned. However, I wouldn’t even bother getting my ears pierced again now.

I haven't worn any since masks came in, in case the mask loops pull off the butterflies & they drop out. And as pp said too much ear furniture. It's yet another reminder how times have changed.

I make a lot of my own so it's going to be a big number but I can't tell you how many exactly - they're in 3 different places and I never count them. I'd say more than 50 but less than 100.

I’ve only just had my ears repierced, after not wearing any earrings for about 15 years.
I felt like a teenager, going to get them done at Claire’s! Smile
So I’ve only got the studs they did them with, and bought a pair of small hoops from Oliver Bonas.
Where does everyone buy their earrings these days?

PresentingPercy · 19/01/2021 23:49

How much money have you got? Cheaper earrings are everywhere from classic faux pearl studs to big gold hoops and everything in between.

I found my ears don’t like non gold earrings and start itching with silver or surgical steel so I have a really nice collection of antique earrings. They range from pearl and diamond drops to a bit of serious bling. Collected over many years.

For modern jewellery I like the Annoushka drops and hoops. For less money look at Astley Clarke, Monica Vinader and Liberty London always have a good selection. John Lewis for less inspiring everyday earrings.

Always look in sales at jewellers. You never know what you will see with a good reduction.

I only wear studs now.
Does anyone else struggle with masks and drop/hoop earrings?

DramaAlpaca · 19/01/2021 23:53

Probably more than 100. Earrings are my thing.

Craft stalls, museum/gallery gift shops, holiday places, get given quite a few, jewellery shops - the last ones I got were Whitby jet, because I wanted some black ones. Before that, some silver and garnet ones from a crystal shop in Winchester.

Maybe 40, I do have 8 piercings though.
