Like a mask or something , that’s transformed it to a luscious glossy mane.

I’ve tried olaplex. Meh.

Almond oil from the chemist's applied to dry hair, wrap in clingfilm, add a towel on top to create heat, leave 1-2hrs to be absorbed by the cuticle, apply shampoo prior to water then wash out and condition as normal. 100% natural, costs pennies, works a treat.

desperatehousewife2 · 12/01/2021 23:08

I’ve just started using Philip Kingsley Elasticiser and find it brilliant. I also use Revlon One Step Hair Treatment and my hair has been in better condition for the last few weeks than in years due to these 2 products even though I’ve just started highlighting my hair. My hair would have been even worse if I didn’t stop using GHDs about 5 years ago and started using a Steampod instead. Steampod dries out my hair an awful lot less than the ceramic straighteners.

User2921 · 14/01/2021 14:11

Extra virgin olive oil. Both as a treatment before washing and a tiny drop smoothed on after drying for shine. (Maybe not suitable if your hair is very light though as could cause a greenish tinge)

SecondTimeCharm · 14/01/2021 15:34

another vote for the Bleach London reincarnation hair mask here, I go one step further and use it as my regular conditioner (but I only wash my hair once or twice a week and it is heavily processed)

Works better than any other I’ve tried and makes me hair silky soft and tangle free

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 14/01/2021 15:40

Tweak'd cleansing hair treatment. Treatment, shampoo, conditioner all-in-one. I also need the detangler spray as I haven't had my ends cut off in a year, but the ingredients are natural, it lasts ages and I like the smell of the original. I hated the purple gogi-berry one, tho - left me with a matted nest on my head. Confused

MrsGlitterSparklesHun · 14/01/2021 15:41

I love olaplex no3. Currently sat with the third treatment in my hair. My hair was so dry before and would instantly frizz. I've noticed quite a considerable difference with olaplex and after the first treatment, I must admit I thought it was overhyped, but after the second one I did notice a difference. I sit with it on a good couple of hours. Shampoo. Then sit with a hair mask on for another couple of hours and it's beautifully soft. I know the olaplex plays a huge part as the hair mask alone doesn't have anywhere near near same effect!

userxx · 14/01/2021 15:46

kerastase nutritive mask. In my opinion the best.

orangenasturtium · 14/01/2021 15:46

Another vote for almond oil. I use it in the same way as Catsup's routine.

shotofchips · 14/01/2021 15:50

Get rid of silicones and sls detergents. Wash less, moisturise with silicone free products more.

Three more inches and Olaplex every now and then to maintain.

Coopz · 14/01/2021 15:53

Tried Olaplex but didn't do anything. Also tried PK elasticiser with similar results, if anything that one made it worse but I have quite thick, damaged hair due to bleaching.

The first time I used Joico Damage Repair hair mask, I left it on for an hour and the result was fantastic. Glossy, smooth hair that I didn't even need to style after drying it. Sadly, it hasn't had the same effect after subsequent uses so I'm watching with interest.

Rosiie22 · 14/01/2021 16:03

I second Garnier Hair food.

Has been an absolute game changer for me! I was using Olaplex beforehand and couldn't notice a difference. I use the Garnier hair mask and put it on wet hair then put my hair up for 2-3 hours and wash it out. I can't believe what a difference it made, even after the first use. I use the banana hair mask and it smells sooooo delicious!!

ShandlersWig · 14/01/2021 20:33

I've just started Olaplex trial kit, 3,4,5 and 6 and instantly seen a difference on my very dry, thick, bleached hair. Which ones did you try OP?

PartoftheProbl3m · 15/01/2021 09:04

Hmm. Just the leave on mask

Rossano ferretti regenerating potion

Bloody amazing!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 15/01/2021 09:23

I got a No3 Olaplex in my beauty advent and liked it, so treated my self to some No6. Not impressed, if anything leaves my hair feeling ‘sticky’. Going to try some of these suggestions. But I have found just regular shampoo and conditioner buy Faith in Nature (coconut) has really improved my hair over the last few weeks.

BeingAMumIsHardWorm · 15/01/2021 10:08

Michael Douglas on This Morning recommended Lisa Shepherd Hair Boss the double Hair Mask.

It has two tubs. One you put on as normal on towel dried hair and another you put in straight after as a sealant.

I have bought it but haven't tried it yet.

Michael Douglas called it the new generation of hair treatment and said it is really good!

Remains to be seen !

Heat up some base oil e.g. jojoba in the top of an oil burner. Could try microwave if you don't have one. Add some essential oils such as lavender. Paint on hair to cover all of it with one of those paint brushes they use for dyeing hair. Cover with shower cap.

Leave on for a few hours.

Use M Moroccan oil after every wash.

TwentyTwentyOne · 15/01/2021 10:17

My hair is in the best condition of its life. I get told all the time that I have beautiful shiny hair.

I used to do the above oil conditioning but if you have some spare cash I'd look at what I use now which is:

At home Keratin treatment every 3 months, then have it trimmed and dyed at salon 2 weeks later.
Olaplex every 2 weeks. If you overdo Olaplex and Keratin it isn't good but OK infrequently.
Moroccan oil after every wash
I only dry it with heat when I am going out somewhere like work or seeing people, otherwise naturally dry.
Only wash it once or twice a week.
Silk pillow case makes a massive difference.

ILoveShula · 15/01/2021 11:02

Castor oil, left on overnight. Didn't transform it into a glossy mane but it looked less sh*te.

userxx · 15/01/2021 15:10

@TwentyTwentyOne That's an impressive regime! Am liking the once a week wash :)

TwentyTwentyOne · 15/01/2021 15:15

User, it takes a lot of effort to have fabulous hair Wink

Atalune · 15/01/2021 17:06

@TwentyTwentyOne could you link to the keratin treatment?

Girlintheframe · 15/01/2021 19:03

Moroccan oil / both masks are fantastic

TwentyTwentyOne · 16/01/2021 11:03

Atalune, I use Cocochoco Gold.
I've linked the website for you to look at, but it is cheaper on Amazon. I have very thick, bra strap length hair and one pot gives me 3 generous treatments.

Cocochoco
