I really love this. I used to have the Vogue beauty book and the Cindy Crawford one but by the looks of it you can't beat Joan.

She's also got a book called 'The world according to Joan' wow... I'm in awe of her.

God, shes SO GORGEOUS! That was a really lovely watch, although what a shame she was interviewed by Parkinson. It would have been much better with another woman who was also into make up

I do love Elizabeth Taylor ( I have her diet book) and the young Brooke Shields was exquisite. I have Brooke's three memoirs including the infamous how to stay a virgin one! I did collect a lot of celebrity beauty books in the 80s. My husband persuaded me to downsize my books when we moved house but I've still held onto a lot of my treasures...

I'll have a look for it tomorrow. I remember she went on about different things to wear in bed. Different options were the basque and suspenders and she said that because she was slim she could still get away with the schoolgirl look..

I've been watching the Joanna Lumley in Japan series and she's totally gorgeous too. She does her own make up and she looks good. I'm lusting after her rosy mauve lipsticks, and her voice is something else. I wish I lived in the UK as I'd be buying the Joan Beauty book.

Joanna Lumley is brilliant too and I love her voice! I watched Shirley Valentine again over Christnas and only she can make the line 'I'm a hooker, darling' sound so very classy!
There's an elegance about these women that I admire - the way they look, dress and carry themselves.
I've never really closely looked at Joan before - I've always seen glamour but not beauty. In this clip, she really does have a beautiful, youthful face.

I think she looks amazing in the video with her hair scraped back....you can see her face....i think her big bouffant hair of recent years is a bit dated.
