Does anyone wear Ugg boots anymore?

I'm having a big clear out and am throwing out some Ugg boots. I didn't wear them often so they're pretty much like new. Now I'm wondering if I should keep them for if DD grows into them or if she wouldn't be seen dead in them.
I don't like waste and chucking something away that cost over £200 doesn't sit well with me.

I definitely don’t think they’re fashionable any more (were they ever?) but I still wear mine in winter, nothing else is so warm & comfy. They do sell well on eBay too, so if your daughter doesn’t want them then pop them on there.

Shelby30 · 02/01/2021 12:59

I wear them when it's cold just to go supermarket or somewhere where I'm not bothered. Wouldn't wear them going for lunch or even out to the shopping centre.

U cld probably sell them in Ebay or similar have a look and see how much they r going for. Give to charity if u can't be bothered, I don't imagine a teenager wld want them now.

I wear mine all the time but I only ever bought the proper waterproof leather ones that are basically biker boots. I have them in black and brown - so comfortable and warm and they are still going strong four years on. They were expensive but have been so worth the money. I don't think I'd wear the ones that look like suede slippers - I never did like them very much anyway.

MerryChristmasToYou · 02/01/2021 13:11

I saw someone wearing them the other day. I might put mine on. Too good to give away but I never wear them.

AnyFucker · 02/01/2021 13:14

Yes, I do.

I wear them for car journeys, popping to the corner shop or any short errands when it's cold

I have had mine about 5 years now and they are just starting to wear through the sheepskin at the heel

If yours still look good you should get a good price for them

Bluntness100 · 02/01/2021 13:15

If they are the ubiquitous ones we all associate with the brand they are slippers and not for outside use, unless popping to the bin or something.

They do a great range of outdoor ones though.

Hoppinggreen · 02/01/2021 13:16

I would if I ever got the leave the bloody house these days.
I have some black biker style ones and I used to wear them on the school run. I wore them to walk the dog the other day somewhere non muddy

Why would you chuck them away? Sell them or give to charity shop.

Loubylou9162 · 02/01/2021 13:18

I wear mine a lot. I don’t really care if they aren’t fashionable I wear them because I like them And I look after them well so don’t walk round looking scruffy in them

MoltonSilver · 02/01/2021 13:21

I wear mine all the time in the house. They're the best slippers. I never wear them going outside.

onemouseplace · 02/01/2021 13:22

I was just thinking that I should unearth mine and wear them over the next couple of weeks as it's the perfect weather for them - really cold but dry.

Biscuits101 · 02/01/2021 13:22

Mine are wearing out now, any suggestions for suitable alternatives to Uggs?

PatchworkElmer · 02/01/2021 13:24

I wear mine for driving sometimes. And to the physio at the moment (injured ankle!) Generally I put them on for popping out in the winter if the errand doesn’t require much walking.

sqirrelfriends · 02/01/2021 13:24

Agree with wearing them as slippers.

StCharlotte · 02/01/2021 13:25

I have some quite new ones (mini fluff in black) which I bought for working from home. They're not pretty and look like a clown's feet but they've been a revelation in terms of comfort and warmth and I absolutely love them.

Sarahandduck18 · 02/01/2021 13:26

Charity shop

TeaMeBasil · 02/01/2021 13:28

Same as StCharlotte for me, bought for working from home and they've been fantastic.

I wouldn't wear them out for more than a pop to the local shop as they do make my feet look a funny shape but to be fair, I bought them for warm feet at home & they are perfect for that Smile

Ellapaella · 02/01/2021 13:30

I haven't got any (my dog chewed them to bits when she was a pup) but I still see lots and lots of people wearing them in winter.
It doesn't really matter about style, they are warm and comfortable so probably quite a practical boot for the winter.
They still sell well on ebay though so if you want to get rid you could put money towards a new pair that your prefer.

usedandabusedx1000 · 02/01/2021 13:35

What ones? What size? I’ll have them 🤣 I love my uggs

OhamIreally · 02/01/2021 13:39

They're black sheepskin size 3. I've dusted them down and put them on. They are very comfy. They did used to scrape the back of my heel though. Am going to trial for home working Smile

Freecycle them

rc22 · 02/01/2021 13:42

I still wear mine to pop to the shops or walk short distances but I have a problem with my foot and they're not very supportive so can't wear them much. They are warm and cosy at this time of year which is why I hang on to them. When they're completely worn out I don't think I'll replace them with another pair.

PinkSpring · 02/01/2021 13:42

I don't wear the big "traditional" looking Ugg boots anymore - they aren't exactly nice looking but my gosh they are comfy!

All of mine wore out, I think the newer ones aren't made as well, definitely don't last as long - and I don't want to spend £150/200 on them knowing they might last one winter before the sole wear out or my toe makes a hole in the sheepskin!

I do have a couple of pairs of ugg suede boots which are very good! Still lined with sheepskin but not bulky

yankeedoodledandee · 02/01/2021 13:46

DD19 wears them. She has 3 different styles.

Chickydoo · 02/01/2021 14:04

Love Ugg's! Comfy, easy to wear. I have 3 pairs. 1 over the knee, one knee length & one pair that are on their last legs so use them as slippers. Have worn them almost everyday for a year.
