Can fillet in lips ever look natural?

I’ve lost a lot of volume in my lips and am considering filler. However I’ve never really seen it look natural. I guess this is because of it looks natural you wouldn’t know - and on website before and after a it’s always straight after so still looks obvious.

Anyone had experience of having lip filler where people really cant tell?

Yes but it has to be done by someone excellent and in tiny tiny doses
Also if you are like me you will swell so get it done on a Friday

Most people want you to see the money they have spent
I don’t- for me it is maintaining

Sorry but you can’t say this isn’t obvious!

Thanks all - am trying to get the prices for the consultant clinic but it’s like blood out of a stone!

@WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo see that’s my exact position. Had full lips that have shrunk as I’ve gotten older and have really noticed it in the last year.

I can always tell.

Janegrey333 · 02/01/2021 14:48

I think it must feel weird to eat with duck lips.

rosegoldivy · 02/01/2021 14:52

@flower2021 her lips look unreal in the after photo

It might be a noticeable change but they do look natural and full and plump without a huge horrific pout.

The lips in the after photo look filled, sore and stretched.

You can always tell!

Lisibeth81 · 02/01/2021 15:03

Yes. Mine definitely did. We only notice the ones that don't look natural, obviously.

When my daughter was a teenager I was about to drop her off for college one morning and she whipped out this red plastic thing and proceeded to put it over her lips!

It was a suction thing to make your lips bigger. Her lips were full but she thought she Ian quite a character and thought it would be funny to use this gadget!

I don’t know who was more shocked, me or her as when she pulled it off her lips were comic proportions and after a moment of stunned silence we both fell about laughing.

We laughed so much for ages and she could not go in with her lips like that!

Years later she worked with a minor reality show woman who had every thing filled to over the top proportions.

I’m glad my daughter warned me as I met her from work one day and she walked out with this woman and well, I had to brace myself at how awful/funny she looked with her inflated lips!

She had it all done to make her stand out on the show and then they went and cancelled the show and she was left with ginormous breasts and other alterations!

Lip fillers in my opinion look dreadful and should only be used for victims of burns or accidents etc.

Came here to agree. consultant clinic runs an amazing website but I've a feeling they do run of the mill filler. i went a few years ago having followed their instagram and was distinctly underwhelmed. Im not sure the person who treated me was a doctor but i didnt go any further than getting old filler dissolved so cant comment on filler results.

Oh dear, this is supposed to look really natural? No. Just no. It's obvious filler has been used. The lips have that too smooth, too taut appearance that always gives it away.

Villanelle17 · 02/01/2021 16:13

They can. Look at Dr Harris on Instagram

BettyOBarley · 02/01/2021 16:23

Yes I suppose they do look a bit obvious!
I've seen others on their site that looked better but tbh i only really followed them as I'd love tear trough fillers if I was brave enough! So lips aren't something I really look at too closely.

SimplyRadishing · 02/01/2021 16:25

I was sceptical buttttt my friend had a small amount and it legit looks great.

ResignYourself · 02/01/2021 16:33

It can look fine face on, but it is always always obvious in profile. Even when done very well.

OutedByHobby · 02/01/2021 18:10

You can always tell.

People who protest theirs is undetectable have very polite friends, and possibly body dysmorphia.

I particularly hate the simian quality it gives mouths in repose.

Vicliz24 · 02/01/2021 18:26

My friend has a tiny amount and not on the edges but in the middle of her bottom lip and it looks really natural from any angle because it doesn't give her those raised edges .

Lisibeth81 · 03/01/2021 03:10

I've already posted pointing out that we will only ever notice the ones that are, well, noticeable. I have very narrow lips and when I had mine done, I just looked better. I got a lot of compliments from friends 'Ooh you look nice today, have you changed your make up/done something different' sort of things, but unless/until I told them it really wasn't noticeable. It just made me look a bit better, which was fine.

Othering · 03/01/2021 08:28

@Soutiner

The only person who has lip filler and they look reasonably natural is Liz Hurley and when she goes for a top up they can look overdone but then calm down.

I’ve yet to see anyone on here that has had them down where it doesn’t look obvious.

I think her and Kylie go to the same person. Also, Amanda Holden and trinny get very obvious lip fillers but they don't seem to get that typical give-away duck lip ridge and so they look better than others.
TheShyGuy · 03/01/2021 08:35

Of course you can. Make sure you do your research and find a good nurse practitioner or Dr.

HeadNorth · 03/01/2021 08:37

I think they can look natural in repose and in a photo, the problem is as soon as someone speaks. Even the lips that seemed normal have a slighty odd vibe when someone is talking. I have never seen lip filler improve anyone's looks overall, so I really don't see the point.

Clarabell100 · 03/01/2021 14:23

Anyone here saying they can never look natural are being ridiculous. I have thin lips and I had 0.5ml done. I almost died when I got hone as they were so swollen and I thought I’d made a terrible mistake. By the next day I was delighted. It’s so subtle but just means I don’t have no top lip. Nobody had ever noticed and my husband, who is definitely not too polite to tell me, has said they just look slightly fuller but not fake in any way. I don’t have the tell-tale ridge at the top as the girl who did it used a technique to avoid it. Lip flip I think she called it.

Obviously if you have 2ml done then it’s going to look fake. But you CAN have it look natural if you keep it to a minimum and find a really good practitioner.

InkieNecro · 03/01/2021 14:32

My mum does this for her self employed job. I don't think it ever looks natural. There is always a ridge to the top lip from the side that wasn't there before. However she is successful and has many repeat customers and gets new clients via word of mouth so I can only assume this is the look her clients want.

Nanny2many · 03/01/2021 14:44

i have to say to the pp who commented on liz hurley and kylie. I fully agree, however i wonder if they ve had permanent lip implant fitted as they have both the same shape and size for a long time

lazylinguist · 03/01/2021 15:18

I think it looks awful. In all the pics I've seen, it's really obvious, even when people are cooing "Wow - you'd never know!". And tbh, really were subtle enough that nobody could tell, then what's the point anyway? I don't buy the 'it just gives an indefinable lift to your face' thing - how does a slightly puffy lip make the rest of your face better?
