Colours that go with brown?

Have noticed a lot of brown around at the mo. Have always loved wearing brown but, leopard-print aside, have phased all my proper brown stuff out of my wardrobe and have rarely seen in it in the shops until now.

Thing is, I’d like to wear it with a bright colour, but am not really sure what goes with brown? Any advice, wise MNetters? Thanks!

It depends on the shade. I have a brown dress in my wardrobe that looks just right with pink. I think the colour is “rose brown” and it’s heading towards the beiges.

I think brown can be worn with a big block of colours like the mustard yellows, beiges, creams, camels, navy and oranges. But only use small flashes of other colours - greens, teals, turquoise, reds, purples and, cautiously, with the right shade pink.
