Best vitamin C serum

Angbunnyboo · 28/12/2020 18:40

I was using the Khiels 12.5% and found it quite good, and then switched to GOW C serum with ferric and its awful, it pills badly and smells awful.

I've got up to £100 to spend and want the best serum for my money. Don't care if it cost £5 or the full whack, I'd just like something to make my skin tone better.

TIA

Oskia is next on my try list.

LesLavandes · 28/12/2020 19:15

Medik 8

throughmylens · 28/12/2020 19:21

La roche posay

TLIMSISNW · 28/12/2020 19:25

Superdrug do one which I like. It’s about £5.

freckledsloth · 28/12/2020 19:29

Another vote for the Superdrug one.

QueenPawPaws · 28/12/2020 19:30

Not cheap but good

Timeless is cheaper and good bit hard to find now

Skinceuticals

Drunk Elephant C-Firma, though it oxidises quite quickly, or Obagi vit C serum 15%.

Girlintheframe · 28/12/2020 19:59

I'm loving the Medik 8 vit C

Ponks · 28/12/2020 20:23

Another vote for Medik8 but they have so many to choose from. I use the white balance brightening serum which has vit c and other stuff. Look Fantastic usually has an offer on, or get from Face the Future.

LlamaofDrama · 28/12/2020 22:37

Do you find any of those mentioned above are drying? I've got Boots vit c range (cleanser, moisturiser, sleep mask, not serum) and it's made my skin so dry! I've also been very spotty, not sure whether it's to blame for that too...

Fortunefavours1 · 28/12/2020 22:42

@TLIMSISNW @freckled which superdrug serum is this? Tia x

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 28/12/2020 23:13

I tried the timeless one which is recommended on the skincare thread but it never stopped making my skin flake. i switched to revolution 15% which costs about £15 and I think it's brilliant. Makes my skin really bright and firm

Florial · 28/12/2020 23:15

This Superdrug one is more expensive, but I rate it because it actually states the % of vitamin c, and also contains antioxidant ferulic acid, like the Timeless serum.

I'm using the medik 8, have you tried the peptide serums

Skinfulnappies46 · 29/12/2020 16:50

I’ve just ordered the sunday Riley serum.

Delatron · 29/12/2020 16:57

IS clinical is an amazing brand.
Also love Medik8.

8lue8ird · 29/12/2020 17:11

I got this recently. It bloody stinks but it was the strongest one I could find and it seems to be doing the trick. I'm really impressed so far.

Best vitamin C serum
NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 29/12/2020 17:26

Definitely Medik8 or Paula’s Choice for me.

Stay away from the Oskia capsules unless you’re quite dry, they made me very greasy but they’d be amazing on a dry skin.

Biovène Vitamin C Serum - Vitamin C Serum for Face Supports Youthful Skin - Soothing, Brightening + Firming - Reduces Fine Lines + Minimises Appearance of Wrinkles - With Hyaluronic Acid (30ml) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GC73J8M/ref=cmswwrcppapifabcc_tF26FbT1HKV7M
I currently use this one. Bought on offer in tkmaxx

ParadiseLaundry · 29/12/2020 17:45

My favourite is 8% Ascorbic Acid and Alpha Arbutin from The Ordinary. Make up goes on so nicely over the top.

I sometimes think it isn't making a difference and stop using it for a few weeks then it becomes apparent it was making a massive difference!

TheSilentStars · 29/12/2020 18:32

Vichy LiftActiv 15% is the best I've tried despite the % being lower than others. I wasn't keen on the GOW as I found it slimy. The Ordinary one I tried was hideously gritty but I believe they have others now.

Whichever you go for, male sure it's L-ascorbic and not other less effective/inferior vit C's.

timetest · 29/12/2020 19:05

I like drunk elephant.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/12/2020 20:54

I use the ordinary vit c powder and put it in my sunblock.

How on earth is a serum worth £100? Vit c is cheap af.
