I know it’s said that you shouldn’t but does anyone do this ? My hair is disgusting
Day after washing it is ok and next day totally greasy again and I’ve never washed it daily but I’m spending every second and third day feeling disgusting
Dry shampoo doesn’t work

Another chip pan head here. I really grudge having to wash my hair every day but if I leave it more than a day it looks like an oil slick.

I have just bought a shampoo brush on the basis of this thread. I had never heard of them before!

Does anyone card to recommend a dry shampoo? I have used Batiste but I wasn't all that impressed tbh, although maybe I have been using it at the wrong time and I should apply before going to bed. Revolutionary!

If you need to wash it daily then do. I can go 7 days without washing mine because I am the driest human on Earth, but my best friend has to every day. Her hair is thick but greasy whereas mine is fine and dry. Just do what works for you.

Batiste is good but also Aldi own brand is good too.

Batiste for dark hair (now mines much darker) is also really good!

Have never used dry shampoo before going to bed but will try that and the shampoo brush!

I exercise most days an sweat massively so have to wash everyday but if I don't then my hair feels so greasy the next day

When I used to be at work, and wanted to look decent, I washed my hair every day. It was much shorter then, but I still needed a lot of product to style & keep it in place. It would have been unbearable if I hadn't washed it every day.

My stylist always checked to make sure it was healthy and I had compliments so it can't have done any harm. You just need to use the right shampoo & conditioner and protect from heat damage.

Not a hope of me washing mine every day
Including from when I start wetting it, to it being fully dry it's about 2hrs... no thanks Grin

iguanadonna · 24/12/2020 16:24

I wash mine everyday because otherwise my scalp feels itchy and just wrong.

ElspethFlashman · 24/12/2020 17:20

Batiste Heavenly Volume (purple can) is my HG.

Actually gives quite a bit of volume without matting together. I buy the big cans so I never run out!

Is it better than the Batiste Dry Shampoo and Volume in the pink and white can?
ElspethFlashman · 24/12/2020 18:33

I never tried that one.

dingledongle · 24/12/2020 18:40

My head was really itchy so in November I started a different, 'no poo' method.

Used baking soda on scalp- rinsed
Used soap bar-rinsed
Rinsed with water and 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar

My head is less itchy and I now wash it every 3rd day

New growth coming at front of head too Smile

BumbleBeegu · 24/12/2020 18:49

I wash mine every day, Monday to Friday, for work 👍 However, after Friday's wash I will usually not bother again until Monday (unless I'm going out, which is rare as hens teeth!)

It looks 'ok' on the days that I leave it, but I feel gross, and it definitely wouldn't be ok if I was doing anything nice 🤷‍♀️ Dry shampoo helps, but my hair feels rubbish...dry, flat, lifeless.

I agree with other posters...do what you want with your hair! If you need/want to wash it, wash it 🤷‍♀️

BobbinThreadbare123 · 24/12/2020 19:20

I wash my hair every day. It is naturally dry but I can't bear the unwashed scalp feeling. Dry shampoo feels gross to me.

2021optimist · 24/12/2020 19:25

I've been reading about the Curly Girl Method and it suggests that the oil is produced because it's being washed out on each wash. I don't know if that's correct but I'm washing my hair in cheap conditioner and it has never felt nicer. I'll see how I get on.

QueenPawPaws · 24/12/2020 20:01

@2021optimist I've been doing that for about 4 years now and the difference is crazy

Doilooklikeatourist · 24/12/2020 20:07

I wash my hair every morning when I shower , it looks awful if I don't
Would probably look ok to other people , but not me
I try and use a clear shampoo ( as I was told years ago it's better for your hair ,.. I don't know why ? )
Use conditioner once a week or so
I have fine hair though , so it's quick to wash and dry
