What a tragedy-4 children and only aged 50 😢
As a teenager in the 90s I never missed a copy of Vogue and she was always one of the big stars during that era

An awful time for her family

Oh no , she was related to someone I was at school with , I didn’t know she had 4 children .What a tragedy 🙁

MrsMiaWallis · 23/12/2020 15:04

Very sad news.

Passmeabottlemrjones · 23/12/2020 15:04

Yes, I just saw this on the news, how awful Sad

Bronzino · 23/12/2020 15:21

This is the saddest news!

PoulePouletteEternellement · 23/12/2020 15:29

My God! Incredibly hard to process.

She was (!) a few years younger than me and has been an icon of stylishness since I was in my twenties. I don't do envy, and she was by any measure extraordinarily fortunate, but it was always heartening to see her maturing style.

Unbelievable news.

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2020 15:31

It's very sad. I loved her androgynous look back in the 90s, it was fresh and different at the time. I'm so sorry to hear this news.

megletthesecond · 23/12/2020 15:32

Really sad. She always seemed like she could pick and choose what work she did. And it was always amazing stuff.

YourWurstNightmare · 23/12/2020 15:39

She made androgynous sexy without all the ridiculous rules and stereotypes forced on women nowadays. RIP, lovely lady. Flowers

Rollergirl11 · 23/12/2020 15:49

How very sad, so young. I was obsessed with The Face magazine back in the 90’s and she was one of the models I thought was synonymous with that cool, edgy, London thing that was so big at the time.

TheDailyMailIsAFilthyRag · 23/12/2020 15:50

Very sad! 50 is no age! Her poor dcs Sad. And right before Christmas!

crosspelican · 23/12/2020 15:53

She was one of the first models I saw who was properly, demonstrably cool. She was so much more meaningful to many of us than the airbrushed supermodels like Christy, Cindy, Naomi etc.

I can't believe she's gone. I didn't know she had four children. Her poor family.

LemonBreeland · 23/12/2020 16:11

So awfully sad. It is such a young age, and 4 children without their mother for Christmas. I just heard the news on my local radio, I didn't know she lived in the Scottish Borders.

ihatethecold · 23/12/2020 16:13

How desperately sad. Poor kids.

Taikoo · 23/12/2020 16:19

Very sad.
But you'll get your arse served to you on here for mentioning anyone famous who has only recently passed on.
MN is a weird place.

Goingdooolally · 23/12/2020 16:20

That’s so sad. I saw her in a beach in Scotland with her kids around 10 years ago. They must be teenagers now. Shocking news Sad

ElspethFlashman · 23/12/2020 16:32

Aged between 15 - 22.

No suspicious circumstances.

Really upsetting. I always adored her back in the day.

HagenDaz · 23/12/2020 16:36

That is so very sad. Her poor family.

DaysAreGettingLongerNow · 23/12/2020 16:38

I didn't see this thread earlier, I'd started another one.

I was really so saddened to hear this. I also loved Vogue in the '90s and remember one great story in particular with Stella running around in all sorts of tartan outfits. Unforgettable.

Fauvist · 23/12/2020 16:42

This is terrible news. I am glad so many others have such fond memories of her brilliant style. I'm so sorry for her poor children and family.

PimlicoJo · 23/12/2020 16:43

She was stunning. Terrible news, her poor family.

Rubytinsleslippers · 23/12/2020 20:51

I vaguely knew her. She was a regular at my work. She was always lovely and usually had the kids with her. They were always dressed in random princess dress and wellies type combo ( few years ago now ). She was stunning in real life - had a presence that wasn't always in the magazine version of her.

I remember this shoot too.
anomletteandaglassofwine · 23/12/2020 21:14

This is so sad. I loved her in the 90s. She was so cool with her short hair, I often brought photos of her to the hairdresser. I loved her party dress with a barbour and wellies vibe, maybe with a tiara thrown in. Her granny was the Duchess of Devonshire, Debo Mitford which made her even more glamorous.

Her poor children, devastating to lose their mum.

Claphands · 23/12/2020 21:19

How sad, I’m the same age group-it’s always shocking when a peer or someone you remember from your heyday dies.

SirVixofVixHall · 23/12/2020 22:19

That is so very sad, she was so young , her poor children and family .
