What the hell can I do with my hair?

Please excuse the terrible selfie, stern and lighting - don’t think I’ve ever taken a selfie before on purpose 😂 Have NC so it’s not linked to my other posts but hello if you know me!

Just paid out for a haircut earlier this week and yet again I hate it. No matter what I think of when I go in, I leave with the same haircut. I’ve had a very stressful year and suddenly look very old and feel like this haircut makes me look even older.

Please tell me what would suit me, o wise ones? I’ve just washed it and dried it, I hate it and will now wear my hair up until my next hair cut when the cycle will start again.

My hair is quite wavy if left to dry naturally. Would love something I don’t have to do much to, but not sure that’s possible with my hair. I want something more interesting than the same boring layers.

I like the style. It suits you. Maybe some highlights to brighten it up.

Ooh will look for a similar lip colour then as I have worn lipstick once in the last decade - never found one that doesn’t make me look weird!

I think they’re a bit shorter than I’m brave enough for - I like these, maybe I’ll work up to the shorter one 😬

I nearly always get given that cut too! For the last 20 bloody years. Hairdressers love to give me layers even when I ask them not to. The last time I was pleased with my hair was when I had a ‘blunt cut’ long bob. But that hairdresser left and the next time I asked for
It I didn’t get it! I think a blunt cut is harder to
Do, especially on thick hair.

The photos you have posted all look great, but they are not just got out of bed looks! I

Yes I think I’ve had the cut at least that long too. It’s weird but I just think of wearing your hair down as something other people do - i never really have because I’ve never liked it. But also I’ve never been brilliant at styling it.

Thanks to everyone for being so kind, you’ve made me feel much better. I totally agree that the cut and my natural colour are quite dull and I could definitely do something more interesting. I assume DH won’t do a runner because of it so don’t have to worry too much if I look monstrous, and I can always invest in some hats 😬
