Good under eye brightener/ concealer?

I need something to disguise the dark smears underneath my eyes. We aren’t quite in the dark circles territory but not far off Grin. It’s not helped by eyeliner smudging a bit during the course of the day (using Wunder Super Stay liner). I don’t use loads of makeup, usually just good old BB cream but it’s not cutting it under the eyes any more. What’s good these days? I have fair, neutrally toned skin- verging to the warm if anything.
Thanks!

Sleek Colour Corrector - in a pink/lilac shade. Only £6.99 from Boots and is a real game changer

Coffeepot72 · 15/12/2020 20:02

Another vote here for the Sleek corrector, I have dreadful dark circles and this brightens to the point where I don’t need concealer. I’ve also ordered the Chanel Rose Corrector, basically a pricier version of the Sleek product. This only arrived a few hours ago and I haven’t had chance to try it yet, but I will report back in the morning!

PS - I was always led to believe I needed a yellow corrector for under eyes, but that was never much help

The Bobbi brown corrector is pretty good. Then a nars creamy concealer over

Beautypie under eye genius

Update on the Chanel Rose Corrector - I wanted to try this, because as much as I like the pink Sleek corrector, it doesn’t last all day. So I tried the Chanel product this morning, it is slightly more opaque than the Sleek and it definitely lasted longer. Also, it negates the need for concealer. So although it’s approx 4 times the price of Sleek, the Chanel corrector is better.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 16/12/2020 18:41

thanks for the info! I bought the Becca and Sleek ones last night so will give them a go.

Let us know.

I'd be interested in the difference between the Chanel and the becca if anyone knows.

I looked at the sleek one today and wasn't too impressed by the colour or format, I think the Bobbi brown is better so far

WrinklesShminkles · 16/12/2020 20:05

I've got the Becca one but I prefer the Maybelline eraser concealer in the pink Brightener colour which I find is the same colour but a better texture. Superdrug sell it.

Coffeepot72 · 16/12/2020 21:30

@upsidedownroundabout do Bobbi Brown do a pink corrector?

PapsofJura · 16/12/2020 21:33

I get the Bobbi brown corrector in peach with Nars over the top and it works well.

upsidedownroundabout · 16/12/2020 22:42

@Coffeepot72 yes - I have extra light bisque but light bisque is also pink.

MissyBB · 16/12/2020 22:46

I find the Maybelline isn't strong enough and smears too much. Bareminerals liquid concealer is better and with a natural finish

Coffeepot72 · 17/12/2020 07:24

I spent literally decades looking for a good under eye concealer only to realise that a pink corrector is actually what I need!

Coffeepot72 · 18/12/2020 17:45

@DazzlePaintedBattlePants how did you get on with the Becca under eye?

nottoday3000 · 18/12/2020 18:42

Hi could you tell me the name of your sleek colour corrector thanks so much

Coffeepot72 · 18/12/2020 18:50

The pink Sleek corrector is called “hello highlight”

nottoday3000 · 18/12/2020 18:56

Ahhh thank you !!! Merry Xmas everyone and let's hope for a better 21 !!!!

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 18/12/2020 20:09

So, Becca concealer arrived today and I used it on top of Luminous Silk Foundation and with a small top coat of Morphe concealer. It did a really good job in real life, but on a Zoom call later my eyes looked a bit paler than my cheeks, kind of a reverse panda eye effect Grin

The Becca concealer goes on really easily though and it builds up beautifully. I need to play around with what looks good on a webcam but in real life it’s a winner. I’ll give the Sleek one a go next week,

I spend a lot of time on Teams calls, and have never mastered the art of make-up that works on Teams as well as real life … !
