Nicole Kidman's green coat - ugly or not?

Apparently, this coat has "divided the internet". Many people think it's ugly. I like it, and I'd definitely wear it (if I had £3,000 to spend on a coat). What do you all think?

I love it! I especially liked the scenes of her wandering about the city at night looking so chic and mysterious. I felt her wardrobe for the part was very fitting. But my personal taste also runs to thinking the woman from the Scottish Widows ads looked very 'chic and aspirational' when I was a teen 😆. Potentially I just have a thing for Cape style attire?... In reality? I know for a fine fact I'd look an absolute plonker trying to carry one off.

Enjoyed the Undoing. Thought it was vile.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 10/12/2020 03:00

It's great on her but I wouldn't wear it

katy1213 · 10/12/2020 03:20

In 1972 they cost about £10 from Miss Selfridge.

neondragonfly · 10/12/2020 03:56

@Iamblossom

I don't like it at all.

I did, however, love the dress she wore to the fundraiser, she looked like a mermaid.

Oh that dress!!! Wow!! Wow!! And even more WOW!!! Now that was a show stopper and a half!
GlowingOrb · 10/12/2020 04:51

It’s one of the most beautiful coats I have ever seen. Absolutely love it.

AlizarinRed · 10/12/2020 06:34

When you are that tall, slim and gorgeous you can wear anything.

But an average person would look like a womble.

TornadoOfSouls · 10/12/2020 08:42

Like the colour, hate the shape, even on NK - I would like a sofa in that colour and fabric though.

Blondiney · 10/12/2020 09:31

It's foul.

sqirrelfriends · 10/12/2020 09:54

I think she looks amazing in it but I'm confident it would look like fancy dress on me.

feelingverylazytoday · 10/12/2020 09:58

It's absolutely hideous.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 10/12/2020 10:07

I love it! I’ve been looking for a similar coat for ages. I had an olive green, long, velvet coat, from Hobbs years ago and stupidly eBayed it when I thought I needed to downsize (I moved to a bigger house not long after and bemoaned the selling of lots of lovely stuff!). I can’t find that actual coat though, I assumed most of the wardrobe was made by the costume designers, what’s the brand?

Notarealmum · 10/12/2020 10:17

Love it! Colour, fabric - all of it! I’d certainly wear one (were I blessed with the means to afford it)

Bluntness100 · 10/12/2020 10:22

I thought she looked great in it, and I liked her whole wardrobe on the show, it’s was just enough “different” .

I couldn’t wear it, I’d look like I was an extra on Robin Hood and his Merry men, but there is no doubt she carried it off.

ferretface · 10/12/2020 10:31

Hated the coat, so bad.

FleetwoodMacMummy · 10/12/2020 10:54

I love it on her, I wouldn’t wear it but then again I don’t look like lovely and willowy like Nicole Kidman.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 10/12/2020 10:56

Beautiful coat, I’d wear it! The green is just right for her colouring and red hair, but I’d prefer it in a darker green.

Shmithecat2 · 10/12/2020 10:56

I love it, and I'd wear it.

Snog · 10/12/2020 10:58

It's ok but Nicole looks good in most things to be fair.

quirkychick · 10/12/2020 11:07

Another vote for the witchy middle-aged art therapist vibe. I love it, but would need a different shade of green too. But then, I have a purple velvet coat with a big hood Grin. I completely get it's not everyone's taste.
