Nicole Kidman's green coat - ugly or not?

Apparently, this coat has "divided the internet". Many people think it's ugly. I like it, and I'd definitely wear it (if I had £3,000 to spend on a coat). What do you all think?

Almost everything she wore was made of satin fabric including her nightwear. She had a plum coat and dressing gown that were practically identical.

QueenOfThorns · 09/12/2020 15:38

It’s gorgeous! And it doesn’t look like a dressing gown because there doesn’t seem to be a belt.

Yeah, there was some gorgeous stuff but it was more like occasion wear than every day wear.

I would love a dressing gown like that though, full in the skirt and all the way to the floor. Buttons, no belt. Instead of the skimpy 3/4 length offerings in the shops!

ZaraW · 09/12/2020 15:43

I love it. I have red hair and pale skin and would wear it.

IntermittentParps · 09/12/2020 15:46

I would feel amazing in it (love the hood, the colour; and I'm tall and lanky so it wouldn't drown me). I do realise though that what I'd actually LOOK like is a reject from the Lord of the Rings extras pool.

Watercoloursky · 09/12/2020 15:49

Looks a bit like someone skinned the Grinch...

Popcornismandatory · 09/12/2020 15:50

Loved that coat and everything else she wore in that show 😍

vintageyoda · 09/12/2020 15:51

I think she looks fabulous in it.

DailyCandy · 09/12/2020 15:59

Everything she wore besides the fundraising dress was awful. The colours, the crushed velvet. Bleurgh.

Time40 · 09/12/2020 16:13

Oooh, good - I'm glad quite a few people like it!

I think she looks amazing in it!

It’s gorgeous - it would definitely suit me too. Similar colouring to Nicole. The shape is gorgeous and I love the ashtrakan (sp?) fur. Can’t see the back but if it has a hood, double win

Figgygal · 09/12/2020 16:34

Style lovely
Colour and material not so much

Mistymonday · 09/12/2020 16:44

Astrakhan is revolting!! Have you seen how they make it? They hang a live pregnant sheep upside down, slit open her uterus, rip out the unborn lamb and skin it, leaving mum to bleed to death.

JMAngel1 · 09/12/2020 16:50

It won't be real though surely - I had a faux one in the 90s and loved it.

dudsville · 09/12/2020 20:37

I think it's fabulous. Lovely colour, cut and length, very feminine. I haven't seen the show, only the pic in your link, so I don't know what it looks like with the hood up. I'm not a fan of a loosely fitted hood, too impractical, but otherwise it looks like a beautiful coat.

torthecatlady · 09/12/2020 20:42

I hate it but I think she looks great in it. I'd look more like Pat Butcher!

borntobequiet · 09/12/2020 21:08

She’s described as gnomic, which is pushing the adjective a bit. Her lower legs and feet look weirdly distorted in the photo. Why do people stand like that?
The coat is OK.

Rocket1982 · 09/12/2020 21:36

I like it and it looks great with her hair, but statistically, that colour (chartreuse) is peoples' least favourite colour.

CrotchBurn · 09/12/2020 21:51

LOVE it

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 09/12/2020 22:09

It's gorgeous. I'm a redhead and had a chenille hoodie (it was much nicer than it sounds!) in that shade back in the 90s and it really suited my colouring.

These days I'd look like Newgrange in it.

LopsidedWombat · 09/12/2020 23:57

I loved it and her clothes throughout the series! I always think she looks so lovely and effortlessly feminine anytime I see her on TV but I do appreciate that the effortless look can in fact require huge amounts of both effort and money Xmas Grin

numbbycocomelon · 10/12/2020 00:07

I don't like it personally but I think she looks nice in it and it complements her hair.

Destinysdaughter · 10/12/2020 01:35

Love it! I've actually got a similar coat in green velvet, but that style and colour suits me so horses for courses really, I'd look stupid in a puffa jacket!

SingingInTheShithouse · 10/12/2020 01:36

Not, I love it & would wear it
