Looking for a beautifully cosy well made cotton man's robe. Any suggestions?

This thread is old now so some of the suggestions may be outdated, but we’ve recently refreshed our best men’s dressing gown page with loads of toasty Mumsnetter-approved options, including soft cotton robes. We hope you find it useful.

Have you tried John Lewis or M&S?

Remember a true Dressing Gown Of Doom needs to have pockets.....

Toesty · 07/12/2020 07:50

Oh yes, pockets for snacks, hands for phone and cuppa.

SOmuchsparkle · 08/12/2020 08:10

Ordered him one from M&S but am not loving it. It doesn't seem snuggly /luxurious enough somehow. It's hard ordering stuff online & not actually seeing it first.

The white company, about £80 but really soft and cosy

Tom Dick and Harry. Got someone a cotton one from there at £60 for a special birthday. Really good quality.

AriesTheRam · 08/12/2020 08:56

Don't do it unless you want it to be a future Dressing Gown Of DoomGrin

Thanks @Iwonder08 Smile

oh, so cotton doesn't seem quite right?

Tom Dick and Harry also have cashmere about £700!

I got one from Sainsburys and its absolutely wonderful, so thick and warm. I checked the ladies section and they were all thin and rubbish but the mens were completely different.
Green tartan check, with a black borg lining which is the softest thing ever. They also do a navy striped one. I've just checked and they're both out of stock online, so it might be worth checking in store where you can feel how thick they are. They're honestly perfect for someone who feels the cold (like me!). It was £26 so more expensive than the bog standard ones but sooo much better.

What is a dressing gown of doom? I googled but found more mumsnet links.

DS asked for dressing gown as part of Xmas present - chose a checked one from next - very impressed with quality - much better than the M n S ones I’ve seen
