Definitely laces, I think the others look a little bit like ankle length wellies.

I prefer the left too.
I’m your age and I think either are fine, just pick which you prefer/fill a gap in your wardrobe/go with today’s outfit.

I have some black patent lace up boots from Gabor that are v like the ones in your picture. They get commented on - positively - regularly.

I'm generally a fan of laced biker boots but those don't look quite right somehow so pur of the two pictures I'd go for the right - with the caveat I don't think either look great quality.

To be fair the laced pair will look better with smock dresses if that's what you want them for though. Both are ultimately fine, and certainly not offensive.

Laces look best. The others look like shiny wellies and too plain.
