Having lip fillers on Friday!

dreamadream1 · 02/12/2020 23:02

Hi everyone

I've researched for the past year on who I'd like to do my filler.

I'm going with a well known, fully qualified with 4 years experience and a very good reputation.

I'm so nervous and I'm still undecided whether to have 0.5 or 1ml?

I don't have thin lips, just my top lip disappears when I smile, my bottom lip is plumper.

Any tips on how to reduce swelling, bruising etc?

I've been told to avoid caffeine, ibuprofen and aspirin 48 hours before and they give you an aftercare package with lip balm, an ice pack and other bite.

Anyone have any experience?

Thank you x

@1990s

Whereabouts are you in the country OP? I’m interested in finding a good person to do them.

Yours did look lovely but also look good now!

They are based in Dorking (south east), beautiful clinic near the Surrey hills. X

Like I said each to their own! Just showing real results from fully qualified and well researched clinics. I didn't want to end up looking like an extra from TOWIE and the girls who run the clinic refuse anybody who wants more than their lips would take to look natural. They do lots of other treatments too and base their clinic about enhancing your natural features.

I thought it was normal for a lip to thin out when you smile, it happens to Angelina.

I think you had nice lips before now you have that curled lip thing which gives it away. As long as you like it though.

missmouse101 · 06/12/2020 23:50

You're obviously very young OP. It's an absolute travesty that you want to do this to yourself.

DontCryForMeNextdoorNeighbour · 07/12/2020 00:34

OP your lips were gorgeous in the before pics, those are my favourite. I'm sad that you felt you wanted to change part of you that was so lovely already.

joanwinifred · 07/12/2020 00:46

They were lovely before, but they look very natural after too! I wouldn't do any more than what you've done now, they look great.

LardeeLar · 07/12/2020 06:19

Your lips looked better before. Before they had a really nice shape to the lip line, with a natural plump ness that I'm very jealous of!

After they look a bit plasticky with the tell tale "all over swelling" of fillers, no variation in where the plumpness is concentrated.

Chalk it up to an experience and dont do it again. You look gorgeous without

Notanotherusernamenow · 07/12/2020 06:34

I preferred the before picture as the shape of your lips were so beautiful. They now look more common/average (standard filler shape).

I guess you have to do what you have to do, but for me you’ve gone from stunningly gorgeous lips (plump but also so beautifully defined) to “just like everyone else on tv with slightly inflated lips”, kind of like a slightly stretched balloon. Not ugly at all - still very nice - but just a bit ordinary.

bluebell34567 · 07/12/2020 08:01

i think your lips are beautiful before and after.

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/12/2020 08:08

Tbh you're beautiful either way.

I did lip fillers for about 10 years. I always looked at my lips in still pictures and in the mirror and figured they looked good.

What I came to realise is that you can really notice filler in people's lips when they are talking and making expressions etc. You don't really talk at the mirror, so I didn't really notice.

When I started noticing it on other people I stopped getting it done as I realised everyone can tell.

TornadoOfSouls · 07/12/2020 09:03

OP, you are clearly a lovely looking young woman. I don’t like the fillers on you and I don’t think they look natural. As you say, each to their own and all that, but even in the before photo your lips were unusually and noticeably plump so I find it hard to understand why you felt the need to have fillers. IMO it’s a mistake.

timetest · 07/12/2020 09:20

I don’t think you needed them as you have naturally full lips. If it makes you feel more confident and happy with them a bit fuller then that’s great.

IdblowJonSnow · 07/12/2020 09:45

They don't look natural at all. If I saw you on the street I would know at a glance they'd been done.

Sorry op, I'm honestly not trying to be mean or rude. Go for your life though if it makes you happy.

I'm not down on all cosmetic procedures btw and get botox from time to time (which no one has ever noticed)

Lips though, you can always tell.

upsidedownroundabout · 07/12/2020 10:05

It's a bit perplexing what you people think looks natural now isn't it. Your lips look how you want them to look and that's great for you, but they absolutely don't look natural. It's kind of sad and worrying that people are aiming for a distorted version of natural or perfect. Obviously on an individual level if you're happy then that's excellent, I'm just thinking on a society level that it's a problem.

GoldfishParade · 07/12/2020 10:11

@upsidedownroundabout

I think the entire point is for it NOT to look natural

upsidedownroundabout · 07/12/2020 11:13

Well, quite!

Just that the OP said she thought they looked natural. I think a lot of young people think they're going for a "natural look" when that's completely distorted.

peaceanddove · 07/12/2020 11:30

And this is how young girls are sucked in. They already have beautifully plump, full lips. Then an 'expert' tells them that filler can improve something that is already damn near perfect. So in goes the filler. Now, the young girl has distorted lips that simply don't look or move like natural lips anymore. Typically speech is also slightly distorted. But, this is now the new normal for the young girl, so she forgets what her natural lips once looked like. Next time, she thinks she might try a tiny bit more filler on her 'normal' lips, and so the circus continues.

SockDrawer · 07/12/2020 11:41

They don’t look ‘natural’ but they look really good. (You also looked fantastic before.)

I’m really glad you’re happy with them. I’ve just DMed you!

Cakles2010 · 07/12/2020 11:45

They look really good! I went through a phase of lip filers about a year and half ago I had 1/2 then another 1/2 then another 1/2...4 months after the last the filler had settled terribly and I now have an awful red ridge on my top lip.

I think they look really well done and suit your face but are highly addictive so don't feel you need anymore once swelling has gone as you'll end up regretting it x

dreamadream1 · 07/12/2020 13:11

Do you think I really look distorted then because I can't see where I look distorted tbh?

No need for nasty comments, each to their own as I said ☺️

Janegrey333 · 07/12/2020 14:18

I think they look the same before and after, pretty much. I would never resort to doing this myself so haven’t got that much interest. However, you do have to accept other people’s opinions on what you have had done. Not all those opinions are going to please you, for goodness’ sake!

naughtyelfs · 07/12/2020 14:24

I think in the before pic you are a really nice top line shape & shape to your lips where they joined (don't know what that's called).

I don't like the curled look you get with fillers. I don't personally think fillers generally enhance the lip shape they tend to just swell it.

sofato5miles · 07/12/2020 14:27

They don't look natural, they look done. However, they kept most of their beautiful natural shape.

You look like a beautiful young woman. I wish you had more confidence in that. Honestly, you are stunning.

Hayeahnobut · 07/12/2020 14:34

They're very prominent.

ShrikeAttack · 07/12/2020 14:43

I don't know where the idea came from that top lips are meant to be the same size and bottom lips and are deficient if they're not. Bottom lips are naturally larger in general.

Your lips looked lovely before OP. I wouldn't bother with the filler again.
