Can I see your not diamond engagement rings?

Having a chat with DP about what I'd like, he really wants to be able to choose a ring himself and surprise me with it, but aside from not being much of a diamond fan, I have no idea on style, stone etc.

So what have you got!

Mine is silver and blue topaz, by William White of Falmouth. I absolutely love it. DH has just commissioned an eternity ring to match.

That is absolutely gorgeous! I rarely see rings that I feel I have to comment on, but this is just stunning; I don’t think I’ve ever seen an engagement ring like it!

Some absolute beauties here ladies, unfortunately I kind of want all of them at the moment so that's a fail.

I love the sapphire ones but the 2 opal ones are utterly gorgeous!!

Can I share mine? Ok, it is diamonds but not the usual solitaire. We had discussed getting married but I wasn't expecting a proper proposal and a ring yet because we hadn't discussed rings and I didn't think dp had the money. He was given a family heirloom by his dm. I love it as love vintage stuff (it's Victorian or Edwardian). I really wasn't expecting it! I had to have it cleaned, repaired and resized.

I love these sorts of threads, really enjoy seeing everyone's jewellery and hearing their stories. I didn't want a diamond either, so mine is sapphire in platinum.

Ooh @jjacobb I love that! Also the opal one someone posted earlier. I'll have to fish mine out and post, it is diamond but it's Edwardian. It's about the only thing I regret about my divorce, that I don't get to wear it any more!

@MairzyDoats wow, that’s a beautiful and unusual design. Maybe you could have it re-made using a different-coloured gemstone in the future. I spent a week running around different custom jewelers while traveling in Southeast Asia last year, so it’s definitely changed my perspective on what can be crafted.
