I am in utter awe and admiration of Kate. She is everything and more we could ask.

I do think that her hair needs a major rethink. She has such an elegant face and her her current style seems to be "draining" iyswim?

@MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously

I think her style is really boring. Those dull blouses! Her clothes are perfectly designed to just cover the body and say nothing about her as an individual.
Do you think William’s clothes say much about him as an individual?
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 26/11/2020 15:00

Not really - they are equally bland imo. I think he should get a haircut - bald on the top but keeping hair around the sides and back is the look of a much older man. The full Phil Mitchell might make him look a bit younger. But this thread is not about him.
Doubt either of them care what we think either way though.

skippy67 · 26/11/2020 15:29

Utter awe and admiration? Blimey!

Floisme · 26/11/2020 15:38

I'm not a fan of royalty but she's part of the establishment and looking like a safe pair of hands is her job, which I think she does pretty well.

As for Diana, I thought she looked a bugger for most of her marriage - at least at official engagements - and only began to discover her own style after they'd separated.

MikeUniformMike · 26/11/2020 16:21

Agree with Floisme.
Diana wore big coats with massive collars (very 1980s) and flat pumps or twee little outfits, or frumpy midi dresses, then after the separated, she had sleek fitted outfits and heels.

Some of her early outfits were real horrors. She had a tall slim body and very good legs, and in later years, looked amazing.

Floisme · 26/11/2020 16:37

Yup about Diana, that engagement suit, for example, was a shocker. She looked like she was wearing one of Mrs Thatcher's cast-offs.
I always thought she looked best when she kept it simple, e.g. - and yes I do know how shallow and vacuous I'm about to sound - the shirt and jeans she wore for the land mines walk.

IToldYouIWantedTheUnicorn · 26/11/2020 16:37

I think she looks nice. She has her own personal style and it clearly works for her. But then she has the resources, money, time, etc etc to look great.

7Days · 26/11/2020 16:50

I like the fit and flare silhouettes she goes for, but not keen when she has the neckline too high, or too much detail about the neck.

If I was here I would also be polite and uncontroversial in public and keep my real personality for my friends. It is the only sensible way to be, in her situation. Hell, it's a good strategy for anyone who doesnt feel like defending their every utterance depending on who is around to take offence at the time. And for her, it would be everyone.

SoupDragon · 26/11/2020 16:53

@EverythingsTicketyBoo

Maybe she wears her hair in pigtails or space buns at home.
I like to think she lets Charlotte do her hair. DD used to style mine with the monkeys from the "monkey tree" game from Early Learning Center.
EverythingsTicketyBoo · 26/11/2020 17:03

@SoupDragon. I don't believe you unless you have photos to prove it.

EverythingsTicketyBoo · 26/11/2020 17:09

I wonder if Charlotte likes 'princessy' outfits.

Apparently Lady Louise came home for school saying that another pupil had told her that her grandmother was the Queen.
She's a lovely looking teenager.

Sophie Wessex always looks just right.

PirateCatQueen · 26/11/2020 17:12

I read these kind of OPs differently since I learned comphet is a thing.

Lockdown TikTok was a revelation to many, me included.

Thefirsttime · 26/11/2020 17:16

@Toilenstripes

How, exactly, is she “everything and more”? What has she ever done that’s so impressive?
Made her life’s work to bag a rich man?? I have no idea.

To me, she isn’t “everything and more we could ask”. I am neither in awe nor admiration of her and am definitely not in “utter awe and admiration of her”.

I can live with not being believed 😂

Not a clue what this is about - comphet? Tiktok?

@PartoftheProbl3m

Oh fgs get a life OP
Why open a thread in S&B about this if it's so trivial to you? This kind of thing is the whole point of having dedicated topics.

If you adjust your MN preferences, you can hide the entire section.

unmarkedbythat · 26/11/2020 17:39

Try google, 7Days.

But this is the Style & Beauty section, not the Royal Family section?

BitOfFun · 26/11/2020 17:45

It's a thread about the fashion though, not whether we agree with the Civil List.

7Days · 26/11/2020 17:50

@unmarkedbythat

Try google, 7Days.
I was just having a conversation
unmarkedbythat · 26/11/2020 17:50

I don't think the poster you quoted is annoyed at the focus on fashion, more on the slavish tone ofI am in utter awe and admiration of Kate. She is everything and more we could ask. And I haven't seen anyone (other than you) mention the civil list?

unmarkedbythat · 26/11/2020 17:51

I was just having a conversation

Nothing about googling words you do not recognise prevents you from continuing the conversation afterwards.

7Days · 26/11/2020 17:53

Nah, this is just a chat board for passing the time.
Just asking on the thread is fine.

BitOfFun · 26/11/2020 17:54

I wasn't being literal, I was just making the point that the thread is fine for S&B as it is irrelevant that the DoC is royall- that's not the element up for discussion.
