High waist baggy leg cords

Yet again I’ve imagined something and can’t find something quite right that exists. A nicely nipped in waist but baggy legged pair of cords. Pref quite chunky cord rather than that stuff that everything sticks to

These M&S ones are close but not mad keen on the colour

These mango ones are a bit too cropped I think

Has anyone seen something close anywhere?

Oh but although I want baggy legs I want them tapered. And the moon on a stick pleases

They are nice. Thank you Superfoodie

I’ve not had a paper bag waist before. Thought extra material around there might not be great but worth a try I think

Urban Outfitters have various things that might fit the bill. There's these cord cocoon jeans (I've got something similar from last winter, really like them), these trousers, not so nipped in but a lovely colour & various others.

Craftycorvid · 07/11/2020 17:45

Toast?

TheStoryofmyLife · 07/11/2020 18:18

I tried those M&S ones in navy and they were nice but not as baggy on the thigh as I wanted.

Not jumbo cord, but these from Cos, as recommended here, are fab, super-comfy (there's an elasticated section at the back of the waistband), nice and loose on the leg. I have them in black but the other colour is nice too - pale khaki - greener IRL than the website image.

Girlintheframe · 07/11/2020 18:49

I got a pair from Topshop last year in olive green. Maybe try there?

Handsnotwands · 07/11/2020 19:16

I love the cos ones - thank you

I found some Topshop ones during my search but all sold out :(

I am waiting for these to arrive- hopefully they will fit the bill.

Handsnotwands · 07/11/2020 20:58

Interesting Bella, would you report back when they arrive?

I opened the thread to recommend the Cos ones, which I have in both colours. The khaki is more of a pistachio in real life. I absolutely love them.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/11/2020 21:09

Oh, and also to say the Cos ones don’t pick up fluff etc. We have a white cat who literally drifts hair as she moves, plus likes to sleep in my work chair overnight (I’m WFH at the kitchen table, and her bed is in there), and they remain fur free.

bellagogosdead · 07/11/2020 21:09

Yup, it looks like it will be a couple of weeks though.

thedevilinablackdress · 07/11/2020 21:21

Toast have a couple of versions this year. Fairly££ but the ones I got a few years ago in the sale have lasted really well.

Zinnia · 07/11/2020 21:33

I love the Cos ones (thanks @Judystilldreamsofhorses for bringing them to my attention). Toast corduroy is usually lovely, though I don't own any of their cord trousers ~only two dresses and a tunic~

Zinnia · 07/11/2020 21:34

Must remember am on Mumsnet not Whatsapp when it comes to crossings out Blush

Just leaving these here @Zinnia

(Definitely didn’t buy these too. Nope. Not me.)

Sasuma · 07/11/2020 22:41

Free People have lots of cords, including these ones www.freepeople.com/uk/search/?q=margate

Tweetypietwo · 08/11/2020 00:02

Pull&Bear have a few pairs of courduroy trousers.

Marchmarch · 08/11/2020 00:07

I think these are tricky. Unless you’ve got quite a straight shape, they can make your arse look visible from space.

Lucked · 08/11/2020 00:15

I tried the M&S ones in the cram and navy, they ran small (for M&S) and were too short. Mostly they just weren’t as flattering as I hoped. I found last years paperbag style more flattering than the current cut so I would look at that style as well.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/11/2020 00:53

I think they can work if you’re not straight, march. I have a small waist and flat tummy, but I do have a comparatively big arse. I don’t care about disguising it. I wear them with tucked in tops, or jumpers that sit on the waist, and they are genuinely flattering. (I’m a size 10, 5ft 6.)

missjoanie · 08/11/2020 04:06

It sounds as though Whistles barrel leg cords would be perfect.

Zinnia · 08/11/2020 12:36

Those are lovely Judy - now wishing I hadn't bought some dark blue cords last year...

Zinnia · 08/11/2020 13:50

Found these OK my travels, @Handsnotwands - gorgeous colour https://www.whatmothermade.co.uk/adults/p/y5mxpi3lkavg74tmtse909lgk8ss79
