@Countmeout - same here with the early access email - about half an hour ago - and I also have one despatch email. I do hope they don't have more 'stock issues' with this sale!

Nanasueathome · 23/12/2020 09:26

John Lewis have reductions too

Saurus72 · 23/12/2020 09:31

I got mine this morning too, v weird! I’ve ordered the blue chambray shirtdress from the JL sale, 50% off so hopeful that will look ok. Have a feeling I will return the burgundy dress from the Toast sale, but will give it a go. Toast sale generally disappointing but I’m guessing (hoping) it will ramp up after Christmas. Tempted by the khaki linen coat dress - I have the denim version which I tried on in store and have to size down 2 sizes so just not sure I can do with the hassle. Also tempted by the sycamore dropwaist dress, which I bought in last year’s sale in a very dark green-black and have worn loads. Hmmm

BerniceBobsHerHair · 23/12/2020 09:31

Thanks ToastCosILoveIt, and also those who mentioned the JL discounts. I have been fairly restrained (so far) ordering a blue scalloped collar shirt on the main website and the anja cord shirt on JL. I think they will discount more but for some reason the summer sale is always catnip to me, the one where I go mad Grin
I really enjoy seeing and hearing what everyone else has bought.
Moominmammaatsea sorry to hear you are going through this, you sound like a lovely daughter to your DM and I love that you are Toastistas together Flowers

Nanasueathome · 23/12/2020 09:33

Toast @ John Lewis that is
I’ve used the link above and ordered stuff direct from toast
I’m done for Christmas now.
Really pleased

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/12/2020 10:41

@Moominmammaatsea, i have no words, that is tough. You sound like a lovely daughter and sharing a love of Toast with your mum is lovely to hear.

Thanks for the tip off re John Lewis, I added the denim coat dress to my bag which i had been dithering about on the Toast site. I ordered the 10 and the 12 as I have previously had the 14 (sent it back) which was massive and i have lost 22lbs since then so thinking the 10 might be good. I also ordered the cream denim pleated skirt: I am not much of a skirt person but I can see this looking good with my grey and green fairisle Toast jumper or my Uniqlo Marimekko green and black felt shirt tucked in.

There has been two Toast dispatch emails (ordered in three lots as I kept going back) and a dispatch from John Lewis. I am hoping some of this will go back and the velvet jump suit wil be a late addition to the sale adn slashed by 50%!!

Saurus72 · 23/12/2020 10:51

@ToastCosILoveIt I love my denim coast dress (I wear it as a dress) but it is absurdly large. I'm usually a Toast 12-14 dress size, but I bought the coat dress in size 10 and it's still roomy. I'm wondering if an 8 may be better for you, not sure.

I ordered last night but haven't yet had a confirmation email from Toast - there was only one of my size/colour in stock so prepared for the order cancellation email...

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/12/2020 13:24

Just looking at the Lento dress on the JL website. It's not even on the Toast website and it looks lovely.

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/12/2020 13:26

@Saurus72, thanks for the headsup. Toast has an 8 but not JL. I will wait now and see how the 10 looks as I am all spent out and saving any reserves for the elusive velvet jumpsuit if it goes into the sale.

NoCureForLove · 23/12/2020 13:56

I'm pleased - bought the Ora dress I've had my eye on and the ribbed yoke easy sweater in the yellow colour. And then headed to JL for a half price wool tencel stripy top. Happy Christmas to me.

AuldFox · 23/12/2020 17:35

@ToastCosILoveIt thanks so much for the early sale link (I’ve opted out of all toast emails as I buy too much!) I’ve grabbed a couple of dresses, hoping size 10 fits now that I’ve lost some weight. JL didn’t have the dresses I wanted on sale, after hearing about the poor service from Toast, I opt to buy from JL whenever I can (got the ikat dress from JL too Blush)

Merry Christmas everyone! Xmas Grin

AuldFox · 23/12/2020 17:37

Every time I come on a Toast thread, I’m at least £500 poorer....when will I ever learn?! Confused

Nanasueathome · 23/12/2020 18:59

My items have already been dispatched
Am assuming will be just after Christmas when they arrive now
So pleased

AmethystMoonShine · 23/12/2020 20:20

Got my dispatch note today too. All items too.... unlike last time! Hopefully this time next week... fingers crossed!

Countmeout · 23/12/2020 21:02

Yes both dispatches now received. Merry Christmas everyone just in case things get busy tomorrow.

Countmeout · 24/12/2020 16:53

Did anyone notice Joanna Lumley seems to be wearing the Ume dress in The night before Christmas poem? I love Joanna Lumley.

Wishing you all a bargain-tastic and festive Yuletide! It’s been a real tonic to come and chat about clothes in the midst of the chaos of this year.

Moomin. Virtual hugs (and absolutely no random arse flaps, please!).

Meanwhile, I continue to eye a kantha robe.....

AuldFox · 26/12/2020 08:48

Yup that’s definitely the Ume dress count

Craftycorvid · 26/12/2020 09:38

Bet Joanna doesn’t get random ads for tartan onesies! 😡

SpikeyBaby · 26/12/2020 10:57

Hi all, I used to be on the original Toast thread under a different name - bought a load of stuff at the start of lockdown and have been lurking on the threads every since Grin

I've just ordered the easy wool sweater in marmalade (part of my resolution to wear more colour in 2021!) and the striped gauze shirt. I only ever buy in the sale!

Absolutely love Toast but a bit disappointed to hear about the customer service issues recently...

NeurotreeWenceslas · 26/12/2020 11:37

Aahhh I'm just looking at that.

I'm normally a size s though. Will the m look enormous?!

MaudesMum · 27/12/2020 09:58

I bought myself a kimono and matching pyjama bottoms as a Christmas treat (from their sale shop) and put them on last night, and they're so nicely made! The kimono is lined, and the pyjamas actually have pockets. As an apple-shaped size 16, I suspect I look like a badly wrapped package in them, but not in my head...

Countmeout · 27/12/2020 12:47

I’m sure it is lovely @MaudesMum, which one did you get.
@NeurotreeWenceslas sizing is a bit random I’ve found but too big is sometimes better than too small
@ auldfox we can all be twins together, would have loved to see what she had on her lower half in terms of shoes.
@Craftycorvid I’m sure she wouldn’t be a bit fazed by the flappy tartan onesie, she’s probably seen some sights on her travels, and isn’t she Scottish in some way? Probably perfect then 🤣

ToastCosILoveIt · 27/12/2020 12:55

Welcome back @SpikeyBaby, i have eyed the guaze top up so many times but not bought it. i like the look of the dress too. Let me know what the top is like.

I have the ume dress in the red and the grey: we all have such good taste!

Laska2Meryls · 27/12/2020 13:26

I posted a couple of weeks ago about [[https://articlegreen.co.uk/
Article Green]] having read about the designer in Guardian piece. I received the Emma Trousers and Manon linen skirt , I ordered on Christmas Eve. They are just fab.. brilliant quality, organic fabrics , comparable to Toast prices but made to order ( she altered the waist sizing to fit as well) .. So pleased with them, and fit is just perfect. She is a theatre designer who set up her own clothing company .. definitely worth a look!
