Boring brown hair - pix - help!

My hair is browwwwwwwwwn
It is so dull

Too dark to dye without peroxide I think
But
Not dark enough to be interesting really

It is basically the colour of somebody who has given up. No pretty highlights like I had when younger! Gone! I never realised hair gets darker as you age?

If I put a rinse through it like maybe a red one, would it take?

I’ve got a heavy fringe and my hair is somewhat wavy and reaches my lower back. Eyebrows are naturally v dark.

Any advice? I’m totally fed up with it, it just sits there.

I’m 47 and no great yet which I am grateful for and don’t want to mess about with it too much before I have to!

You have lovely hair. No hair will lighten without peroxide, but if you want a few highlights, do that. Personally I would leave it well alone.

Your hair is a lovely colour but if you aren't happy then L'Oréal have an app so you try put colours against a photo of yourself.

I have grey coming through and my plan was to dye it lighter until eventually the grey wasn't as obvious and then I could stop. DD just said stop dyeing it now so at the moment it doesn't look the best or the worst but I miss being dark like yours is.

Try the Superdrug wash in, wash out colour shampoo in red.
Its only a couple of quid and its great for conditioning your hair so you've nothing to lose really.

The colour is fine, so I would focus on making sure it's in great condition and nice and shiny.

Oh god your hair is fab. I was reading your post and nodding, as I get it, my hair is boring boring mouse brown. But then I clicked on your photo and it is proper dark lovely brown! And you’ve been brave enough to have a fringe as well, so it looks cool.

Yup, that is some bona fida swishy hair you got there. However, IF you're determined to do something, then this would look fantastic.
