UGG slippers have lasted less than a year

I bought UGG slippers last December thinking they would be a long-term investment and last me ages. I guess because this year I have been home a lot more than usual I have already managed to wear them out. They look really tatty, the fur insole has rubbed away in patches. They used to fit nice and snugly and now they are a trip hazard as they are so loose!

Has anyone else's UGG slippers that have not lasted long? I am not sure whether to buy another pair (or a different brand?) or just stick with cheap Primark slippers.

Mine didn't last long, ever year now I buy the £15 real sheepskin one that Aldi do. Just as nice and I get around a year out of them too.

Ooh I may purchase these too, I will keep an eye out for them.

I was disappointed as I felt spending money on UGG slippers would mean that they would last longer than cheap Primark ones and would be more environmentally friendly than having to buy a new pair every winter.

I've had mine over two years, just recently had to order new insoles for them as the due had gone, though I wear mine a good 12 hours a day at least.

Mine last a couple of years but are far far nicer to wear than cheapo ones so will continue to buy them, especially as I'm wearing them every day for home working. I buy them in the sale so pay about £50 for them.

That really disappointing. I’ve had mine since December also and they’re perfect. I’m really impressed with them as I’ve literally been wearing them for 12 hours a day most days now that I’m working from home.

Ive had mine 4 years and they have only just started to look tatty so my mum is buying me a new pair for christmas, i wear them nearly all day everyday

DD bought me some for Christmas two years ago and they were tatty to the point of being unwearable by the following October. I bought myself a pair of FitFlop shortie mukluks just before last Christmas - they were about £70 on black Friday. They're meant to be outdoor boots but the extra support is heavenly for my poor feet (I have RA and plantar fasciitis). Nearly a year old and after almost constant wear they're still perfect. The sheepskin lining is as fluffy as when they were brand new and because they're waterproof they've even survived the odd coffee/wine spill!

I hope they last, I just bought some Ugg Ansley ones, they were cheaper at a place called Hurleys, I did have to pay postage but it seem quite a saving at £67.50 compared to £90 elsewhere. I am 7-7.5 and I bought 8 as it said they come up small

My ugg slippers were a gift last Christmas and half the stitching is coming loose on the right foot - very disappointed as I do love them and they sorted my PF on tiled floors

I’d recommend Celtic & Co sheepskin slippers. I have the boot style ones and they’re still in good nick after 4 years of daily use.

I didn't like Celtic and co ones as they gave a hard sole which was too inflexible for slippers imo. Plus they are very light coloured so I would get them v dirty!

I went for sheepland slippers. They are amazing. Snugly comfy and warm and still in v good condition a year later.

That’s rubbish, mine are about 5 yrs old and still going strong though I wear them loads especially in the winter. Maybe it’s style specific, mine are very sturdy and snug and though the inside has flattened thera no wear or bare patches.

I think they’re ugg Moraene, no idea if you can still buy them.

I took mine back. Bought them from OFFICE a couple of years ago, wore them about 4 months and they developed bald patches at the heels. For £80 I would expect much better. I have been wearing ASDA slippers ever since - so maybe 18 months and they haven't worn at all!

I walked into OFFICE and told the guy I was retiring then as faulty and he processed a refund without question.

Have the insoles arrived? If so, what do you think of them so far? I may buy the insoles but not sure if they will work with the slippers (I have the Scuffette slippers) without slipping out?

Oh wow I wouldn't have expected them to refund them as thought they would fob it off as normal wear and tear. Mine developed the bald patches after around 4 months in too, I should have tried to return them back then.

Another recommendation for Celtic and co. Long lasting, suitable for nipping outside in and super cosy.

I bought insoles for my scuffette slippers with no issues. They were most worn on the heels and took a few days to get ‘broken in’ or moulded to the slipper/my feet. They feel brand new and are fantastic!

I went in quite determined because for £80 I don't think that level of wear and tear is reasonable after such a short time period. I didn't need to say anything other than these have worn and he just asked for the receipt (I had bought online so had the emails) and that was that. I did expect it to be slightly more difficult!!

I got my ugg house shoe boots 4 years ago. They're still fab. Ben in the machine a few times and look worn but inside they're great and the sole is still in pretty good condition. Are you sure yours were real??? I don't know how I'd tell but mine should last a few more years based on current rate of decline.

If you have the receipt bring them back to Schuh. They have a 365 day refund period. If goods are faulty they will refund or exchange
