What do you put on your hair when you go in the shower?

I’ve stopped washing my hair every day and it is really benefiting from halving the amount of styling/heat on it. I want to continue this but I’m wrapping it in a little towel when I go in the shower.

What’s the alternative to a towel? Do people wear shower caps? Can you still buy them or is there a better alternative?

Oh and I shower at least once a day, mostly twice ... Just not my hair

I find if I don’t wash my hair every day I get this strange hurty head at the crown, it’s worse when my hair is a bit longer, it’s very odd, my hair is short and curly though so dries quickly,

Just for the avoidance of doubt, this isn’t an issue ruling my life - it was an idle thought on a Sunday night. Not life or death. For the person who said I’m ‘depressing’ for even thinking about this - thanks. Maybe if you have nothing helpful to add, keep it inside. Perhaps this thread is detracting from the other shit in my life* or maybe it’s the most contact I’ve had all day. Your (frankly, nasty and dismissive) comment just wasn’t needed.

I don't shower every day...

I do wash mine every morning, but if I have a second shower I use a shower cap - mine is a cute one I bought on Etsy, but I also have a stash of hotel ones. My DP hilariously calls me Mrs Mop, but he is just jealous because he is bald!

I've got a cheap shower cap from Sainsburys that I rinse in bleach every now and then or machine wash. My toddler DD calls it 'mummy's bubbles hat' and views it as a treat if she gets to borrow it
