WFH wardrobe

I’m going back to work in 10 days after maternity leave, although will likely be largely WFH rather than in the office. Obviously I’m rather out of the loop as have been busy with baby... What do you recommend? What are people wearing to keep warm and professional and yet homely, these days? What have been your lockdown wfh wardrobe best buys? Looking for inspiration!

Looks smart enough on top but very comfortable and warm worn with opaques or even leggings.I’ve usually got trainers or sheepskin slippers on my feet.
And it has pockets.

Thanks! Looks very cosy. I’ve usually got a blanket on my lap even in the office as I get so cold, so warmth is always a priority for me.

Ooh. I do like that Seasalt dress.

I wear jersey dresses with opaque tights and thick leggings with longer length tops. So I feel ‘dressed’, I look fine for Teams calls, and I’m comfortable. Boden and White Stuff are great for jersey dresses, and I get the thicker leggings from Next.

Is the Seasalt dress straight up and down or more of an A line shape?

I've bought a selection of long sleeve tops from Seasalt/Fat Face/Joules. Cheap jeans from Dorothy Perkins on bottom half. Slip on Skechers for dashing to Starbucks drive thru between calls. Otherwise sheepskin slippers like pp.

Thinking of getting some fingerless gloves as hands are freezing. Any excuse to relive my youth!

We're all WFH and there's not a lot of dressing up going on, unless you are in a client facing role. I've been in jumpers, T-shirt's and hoodies since March. Even the CEO wears a hoody for his briefings. My advice would be don't overdress or wait until you see what everyone else is doing before you buy lots of stuff. It's gone very casual for us.

Its getting colder now. Nice jumpers or a cardigan? Minimal makeup?

I find I still need to look presentable, to be in the right frame of mind for work though - I still set the alarm every morning, then it’s shower/hair/make-up. Then my brain knows it’s time for work

I've got wide leg trousers in thick cord or cotton wool mix. I then have either nice tops or good tshirts with a jumper or cardigan. Very comfortable, no need for a bra, and warm. I've put one of those blanket scarves next to my desk but haven't needed it yet. For my feet I have a range of warm slippers. Ahhh, the wfh clothing comfort!

Usually dresses. But l’m a big dress fan anyway. They are my wsrdrobe staple.

And a little makeup. Knickers have become a bit of an optional extra though!!!

I start work at 6:45, shower before and always go for a walk afterwards. There are dangers of eating, working and sleeping all in one place.

I don’t have a “home office” either and vary my location, table during the day.

Work shirt (usually patterned, from primark or tk maxx at the mo) with vest underneath for warmth. Decent hair and make up. Leggings and slippers on the bottom half as cosy and comfy. Stick a posh coat over the top and you've got school/nursery run!

I don't bother with make up at home. I am probably going to have to throw my out of date make up away as it just isn't getting used now. I don't wear it when shopping as it just ends up on my mask, and people can't really see my face anyway.

My work is relatively casual anyway but I have just carried on wearing what I usually wear for for work. Mostly Boden, White Stuff, Seasalt type dresses and cardigans. Always do my hair and makeup but that takes 10 minutes and is minimal.

I can't work in slippers - it just feels psychologically wrong but I bought a pair of soft leather clogs and they work just fine.

I like to maintain a routine so alarm, tea, shower, hair and make-up and like another poster an early morning walk for my commute. Also have separate stuff I wear at weekends.

Have bought nothing during lockdown.

I’m also a pear, although bigger on top now than I used to be and it is ok on me.

I wear mostly what I would to the office which is mainly at this time skirts, chunky cardigans, dresses, if I haven't got any team calls sometimes I will just wear a knitted jumpsuit or leggings and hoody. I always do hair and make up tho as it's part of my routine and helps me feel like I'm 'ready' for work. A pair of sheepskin slippers is top of my list to purchase alongside fingerless gloves as my hands get super cold x

I wear blouses and shirts with thermal tops underneath, or smarter wool jumpers.

We have a Sesalt quite near us, so I went there this afternoon. Sadly they don't have it in the shop, and it is out of stock in my size online.

I'm a big fan of Jersey dresses and was wearing them through the summer. Now it's winter, I'm putting on the thick tights and chunky knitwear with them. My office was always the casual end of smart casual so its not a big change.
